NEWS
As seen on the Steve Austin and Triple H interview last night, Triple H praised Michael ?PS? Hayes and said he was under-rated for his contributions to the business. Hayes responded to the comments on Twitter by posting "Well, can't say I disagree, but really appreciate the plug from @steveaustinBSR and @TripleH for the HOF next year in Dallas!!"

JBL also weighed in and endorsed Hayes for the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame in the Dallas. He posted on Twitter "I agree with @steveaustinBSR I paid to see the Freebirds and then got to wrestle them, they were awesome! @MichaelPSHayes1 HOF -Dallas!" JBL also posted "It's hard to imagine how 'over' the Freebirds were in Texas-they helped make the Sportatorium. One of history's greats @MichaelPSHayes1".

JBL posted on Twitter comparing Katy Perry?s attire during her halftime performance at Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, AZ. He compared it to Bam Bam Bigelow as it was an outfit covered in flamers. Social media was full of comments about the similarities last night with fans and wrestlers weighing in. WWE?s website has a new poll asking who wore the flames better ? Bam Bam or Katy. With 4,000 votes, the former ECW Champion is leading with 57% of the vote.

Mick Foley posted on Twitter after Triple H's interview with Steve Austin "Great job by @TripleH on the #StoneColdPodcast. Knock him if you like, but if @WWENXT is his baby, the guy is a heck of a dad."

Sgt. Slaughter promoting the WWE Hall of Fame on KNBR radio in San Francisco, CA can be heard by clicking here.

There are reports that one third generation wrestler at the recent WWE tryouts was already offered a spot on "Tough Enough" but they have to wait and see if WWE offers them a contract for NXT first. The third generation talent is rumored to be Tessa Blanchard, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard and stepdaughter of Magnum T. A. That rumor has not yet been confirmed.

Some people are not very happy about the WWE.com list of the greatest managers of all-time and not including Gary Hart or Jim Cornette, who should be in any list of top five.

In honor of Black History Month, WWE has put up Hall of Fame profiles on Tony Atlas, Ernie Ladd, Rocky Johnson, Bobo Brazil, and Ron Simmons and they are adding episodes of Mid-Atlantic, Global Wrestling Federation, WWF Championship Wrestling, WCW Main Event, WCW World Wide, and Mid-South Wrestling that all featured black performers. The Mid-South Wrestling show, the first on the network, will be from October 15, 1983, featuring Junkyard Dog. There hasn't been a lot of Mid-South on the network due to the cost in restoring the footage and the cutbacks.

Jerry Lawler, Lance Russell, Dave Brown, and Ric Flair all appeared at the Memphis Grizzlies basketball game this past weekend for "Memphis Wrestling Night". Russell and Brown called the match with Lawler facing local wrestler Maverick, who claimed he was a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who the Grizzlies played. Tony Allen of the Grizzlies during the game did the Jackie Fargo strut. The first 3,000 fans got replica championship belts and they were promoting the WWE's "Fast Lane" pay-per-view event on February 22nd in the arena.

There?s a grassroots movement in Memphis, TN that?s looking to put a new Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum inside the historic Mid-South Coliseum, which has been closed since 2006. The group has a Facebook page at this link. Jerry Lawler recently said he would be willing to donate some of his memorabilia to the museum and said it ?could be a massive destination for people to come to if it was done right.? BizJournal.com has more details on the group at this link.

Dixie Carter posted on Twitter "Happy to announce that the Von Erichs will join us once again at our tapings in February! @RossVonErich @MarshallVonEric @KevinVonErich".

King Mo was a guest on "Submission Radio" to discuss training with Bill Goldberg at America Top Team. The full interview can be heard by clicking here. When he was asked if Goldberg should fight some amateur or exhibition fights, he said ?I would like to see him get in an MMA fight. First of all, the amateur fight, I wouldn?t go out and fight that. For what? You know what I?m saying? Like no one?s going to fight him and if they try and fight him, they?ll be somebody with experience that fought before, and lie, and tries to like take his head off. They?ll pay miserably, but you know what, put him out there and let him fight on Spike TV. You know, why not? Let him fight on Spike TV. Let him headline a card. ?Cause he has a big following, he?s a superstar, a big fan base. If I were Bellator I?d be talking to him like ?hey if you wanna fight let?s [do it]?. You know, Anybody. If you?re World Series of Fighting or somebody I?d be like ?hey if you want to fight, we?d love to put you on the card?. Because MMA is entertainment. It?s not a true sport. It can?t be, because there?s no true feeder program. Like in boxing, and track and field, and basketball and everything, they have feeder programs. Usually the best stick to the top. In MMA I could get a guy that?s like a swimmer with a good name and be like ?hey do you want to fight??. I?ll get Michael Phelps and train him, and be like ?hey Michael Phelps could fight? and then everybody would wanna fight him because he?s a name. You know, it?s entertainment. There?s no true feeder program. You got guys that are Jiu Jitsu world champions that have to get fights before they can actually be broadcast on TV. So it?s about entertainment, it?s about getting eyes on you. It?s not really about who?s the best fighter, it?s about getting eyes on you and when you fight, being entertaining.?

Dan Murphy of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story entitled "Hayden set to make rare Canadian defense of NWA women?s title" which you read by clicking here.
