Brent Albright has been entered in the "Lou Thesz Bracket" of the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament and faces Osamu Nishimura in the first round at the upcoming NWA Bluegrass event in Salyersville, KY on June 2nd. The winner of that match will face the winner of the Glamour Boy Shane vs. Fred Sampson match. Speaking of Brent Albright and the upcoming NWA World Title Tournament, Gerweck.net ran a poll asking their readers who they thought would win the tournament. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson garnered 54% of the vote, with Albright finishing a distant 2nd with 18%. NWA Wrestling is running a similar poll on all the first round matchups. The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens), recently released from TNA, may be used in the upcoming NWA Tag Team Tournament to crown new World Tag Team Champions.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross will open his "J.R.'s Family Barbecue" restaurant on June 27th in his hometown of Norman, OK. It will have a wrestling theme.

Dusty Rhodes has suggested that ECW be used as a youth oriented show, basically the final level of developmental. ECW head writer Dave Lagana is in favor of staying the course.

The A&E reality series featuring Mick Foley will tentatively be titled, "Wrestling My Family." Foley was filming footage over the weekend at the New York Wrestling Connection's school in Long Island, which is headed by Foley's former ECW World Tag Team Championship partner, Mikey Whipwreck. Backstage footage was also filmed at the NYWC event in Deer Park, Long Island on Saturday night as Foley visited the show. While the production company did film parts of the live show, Foley did not appear before the crowd. At this point, there has been no official announcement of the series being picked up by A&E, so they may have just been filming pilot footage to show to A&E executives.

Jeff Jarrett has had recent talks with Hulk Hogan about coming into TNA, but his asking price would be high. Hogan was recently paid $75,000 just to do an autograph signing.

Fans are being allowed to vote on the stipulations for the first ever meeting between TNA World Tag Team Champions Team 3-D & the Steiner Brothers on June 8. Voting takes place at www.UWFusa.com. Options include a normal match, a Philly Street Fight, No DQ and a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.

ESPN's Woody Paige in his column in the Denver Post Monday at www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_5944953 had an article on the history of linebackers on the Denver Broncos and noted Wahoo McDaniel, who started from 1961-63.

Jim Neidhart reportedly injured his ankle signing autographs at the Tampa Bay Devil Rays game on Friday May 18th and was unable to be at the Division 1 Pro Wrestling event he was booked for on Saturday May 19. The Warlord took his place.

Jody Hamilton sent out a message last week that Deep South Wrestling is in the process of reorganizing the company and will return soon.

King Kong Bundy is now on MySpace accepting bookings for Pro Wrestling Events and Stand Up Comedy Appearances.

Wednesday's Tallahassee Democrat had a story on 20 years ago today in Tallahassee. They noted there was a wrestling show in town with Ric Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes for the NWA World title, The Fabulous Freebirds vs. Sting & Rick Steiner, and Ron Simmons (a local favorite because he went to Florida State) & Mike Rotunda vs. Kevin Sullivan & Samu.

Brandon Bishop announced on several local message boards that due to personal reasons, he has wrestled his last match for IZW and possibly in the state of Oklahoma.

Jill Jarrett, the wife of Jeff Jarrett, lost her fight to cancer early Wednesday morning. Jill Jarrett's funeral took place on May 24th at the Hendersonville Church of Christ on Rockland Rd. in Hendersonville, TN. Oklafan sends their prayers and condolences to Jeff and his family.
