Dan Murphy of Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced that Cheerleader Melissa was given the No. 1 spot in the PWI Female 50 for 2013. She was given a plaque commorating her ranking at the SHIMMER Women's Athletes event in Berwyn, IL this past Saturday.
Another name involved in WrestleMania XXX rumors is Goldberg. If things pan out, it could be completely appropriate to chant "Goldberg!" in a Ryback match. Wrestling Observer, via WrestlingInc.com, reported "A few people in WWE creative have been thinking of angles for Bill Goldberg and Ryback, in case something gets worked out for WrestleMania XXX. It's not a done deal but it is something being talked about. There is a chance of Goldberg vs. Ryback happening because both sides have not closed the door on a WWE return." This is the kind of match that fans think of, but never happens, like Steve Austin vs. CM Punk for example. It's believable that WWE is at least looking into this possibility, however slight it is. This would be a huge match, one befitting of WrestleMania's grandness, though it's not likely to happen. Goldberg once said in an interview on a Fox affiliate that he had "nothing positive to say" about Vince McMahon. Money in massive quantities can soothe over a lot of things, but getting Goldberg back aboard is going to be a struggle.
WWE is still very interested in landing Bill Goldberg for a match at WrestleMania XXX, reports F4WOnline.com. During Ryback's match on RAW last week, Vince McMahon fed Jerry Lawler the line about fans loving the Goldberg chants that occur often during Ryback appearances. Of course, with the regular chants and the new Goldberg DVD, there's really no better time than 'Mania in New Orleans, LA for a Goldberg return match.
Where has Ric Flair gone since causing a stir at the now-famous WWE 2K14 panels at SummerSlam Fanfest? Reports say he's been undergoing treatment for substance abuse. According to F4WOnline, via WrestlingInc.com, "Ric Flair recently finished up a stint in rehab." There is also word that Flair is lying about his whereabouts, telling folks he's in Florida with his daughter, Charlotte, but instead attending rehab. Flair's alcohol abuse is no secret. It has been the subject of stories like this one from Shane Ryan of Grantland. It's more than plausible that WWE would ask him to go to rehab, and one hopes that he did and that it will help him. As tantalizing as reports like these are, most fans would rather hear stories of Flair putting his inner demons in the figure-four leglock than hear of him struggling.
Jim Ross posted a picture with Shane McMahon on Twitter with the caption "Look who I ran into in NYC. Shane-O-Mac!" To see the picture, click here. Earlier in the evening, Ross had dinner with former WWE creative member Court Bauer.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, while WWE is ruling out Hulk Hogan for WrestleMania XXX, as the company expects him to return to TNA, officials are eyeing Sting for a possible appearance at the big event. With TNA being in a state of total disarray, the report notes WWE believes it can bring Sting in for a WrestleMania appearance. "The WWE side believes that Hogan's ultimately TNA-bound, but they also feel there is a decent chance that they may end up being able to get Sting for WrestleMania next year," the report reads.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the October 10th TNA "Impact Wrestling" live telecast and television taping in Tulsa drew 800 fans. The TV ratings for "Impact" live in Tulsa was .84 and the taped episode did a .82 rating.
TNA held its Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday night in San Diego, CA. There aren't a lot of details but Sting, Samoa Joe, and Magnus all gave speeches about Kurt Angle. Angle himself only spoke for five minutes, which was a disappointment.

Jack Brisco was mentioned on Fox Sports-1 on Saturday during the Oklahoma State football game when they talked about famous athletes who came out of the university. Jack was a Hall of Fame pro wrestler, NWA World Champion from 1973 to 1975 and an NCAA Champion in 1965. He was one of the best in-ring performers of his generation.

Kevin Von Erich posted on The Von Erichs The Movie Facebook page "Hello, this is Kevin Von Erich,if you all can bear with me I'm trying to get familiar with all this, I've avoided computers for a long time. I don't like to stay in one position so long. Our plan is to start the story in our late teens, with flashbacks where we need to, and Pro wrestling, all those sell outs, will make a great background, and tell about a family, who really loved each other. I want you to see what kind of people my brothers were, and why we were so close. I was proud to be the big brother, even though Dave had the most level head. Kerry and I would show off for each other, always pushing it. Dave was very often the voice of reason. What good times we had too, out in the woods, on horseback, in Texas. And Lisa Renee and I have a great chemistry, she has a passion to maintain the integrity of the story. And not the misconception that Fritz was so mean and tough on us, and made us wrestle, when the truth is, we adored our Dad, and wanted to be just like him. He was a great man."
