NEWS
Tornadoes came through the state of Oklahoma on May 19th and May 20th. The city of Moore was nearly decimated by the tornado on May 20th. The tornado that hit Moore was estimated to be 2 miles wide at one point. Several Oklahoma wrestlers either live in the cities that have damage or have family there. Out of respect for their private lives, we will not list them nor any of their damage or tragedies. We do ask that you keep all the people affected by the tornadoes in your thoughts and prayers and help out if you can.

While the tornadoes on May 20th were in Moore, OK, Jim Ross posted on Twitter "I can see the tornado from my backyard. Thank goodness it's about 5 minutes North. Lights flickering. Homes destroyed. Panic in DT OKC." After the tornadoes hit, he posted "We live 5 minutes from Moore, Oklahoma where the death toll continues to rise. Our home was sparred. #blessed#pray4Oklahoma @wwe"

Earlier in the week, Jim Ross posted on Twitter "This Friday join me 4 free meet & greet in Salt Lake City @ 3-4:30 pm at the Maverik Store 3260 West Temple. I?ll be in SLC 4 @WWE Fri nite"

"WWE Monday Night RAW" from Tulsa last week did a 2.9 rating with an average viewership of 4,047,000. That is slightly up from the previous week?s 3,917,000 average. The first hour of the show did 3,790,000 viewers followed by 4,100,000 in the second and then 4,250,000 in the third and final hour.

To help promote "Extreme Rules", WWE sent Mick Foley and The Bella Twins to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game on Saturday night against the Milwaukee Brewers, to sign autographs and take photos before the game at 4:45 p.m. Chris Jericho threw out the first pitch.

After "Extreme Rules", Mick Foley posted on Twitter "You were excellent tonight @ReneeYoungWWE. Very likeable and knowledgeable. It would be a pleasure to work with you on more @WWE PPV?s."

Among the cuts by WWE Developmental was Brandon Traven (Brian Breaker), Percy Watson, Derrick Bateman, Sakamoto, Briley Pierce (the younger brother of Dolph Ziggler), Audrey Marie, and Anya. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com explains that the mass firings are due to the current upheaval in WWE's developmental system and ominously notes that "additional names" are expected to come out.

Missy Hyatt supports the petition to induct her late ex-husband Eddie Gilbert into the WWE Hall of Fame. She posted on Twitter "Petition | Vincent K. McMahon: Induct EDDIE GILBERT into the WWE Hall Of Fame | http://chn.ge/YCS5es http://chn.ge/141aPTa".

Besides Paul Bearer, the other name already being talked about of late for the WWE Hall of Fame at next year?s WrestleMania is Jake ?The Snake? Roberts, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Fox Sports South's web site has a story on Dallas Page and Jake Roberts. The reporter went to see Roberts & Page at the home they are living in, called The Accountability Crib. They push DDP's yoga. They are filming a documentary called "It's Never Too Late: The Resurrection of Jake the Snake and Scott Hall." Roberts is pushing for a guest appearance at the Royal Rumble this coming year. Jake Roberts posted on Twitter "BRAVES contacted me and want me to sing TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME during 7th inning stretch. Who am I to deny masses from my golden voice".

Jake Roberts got publicity in a lot of places, including FoxSportsSouth.com, for singing the national anthem at Turner Field for the Atlanta Braves game this past weekend. He had the lyrics in his hand but apparently botched some of it. You can see it by clicking here.

Arda Ocal posted on Twitter "Had a nice chat with Paul Orndorff, who tells me he is healthy and in good spirits. Great to hear. @pwhf".

Friday night in Gloversville, NY for Squared Circle Wrestling, a Spike Dudley vs. Jason Axe match sort of turned into a tag match with Terry Funk with Spike and Kevin Steen with Axe. Funk attacked Steen at ringside and they used all sorts of weaponry, brawled through the crowd and went out the emergency exit. Funk came back and helped Spike get the win. Funk was in town because he was inducting Dick Murdoch into the Amsterdam, NY based Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Saturday night. Funk mentioned this was very important to him for Murdoch to get this recognition.

Those being inducted in the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday night were Sandor Szabo, Dick Shikat, Cowboy Bill Watts, Baron Von Raschke, The Assassins, Tito Santana, Dick Murdoch, J.J. Dillon, El Santo and Joyce Grable. Among those there were Terry Funk, Lanny Poffo, George Steele, Dick Beyer, Eddie Edwards, Kevin Steen, Paul Orndorff, Paul Vachon, Domenic DeNucci, Mae Young, Johnny Rodz and Buff Bagwell.

A stunt gone wrong at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday put wrestling into the spotlight as singer Miguel attempted to jump from one stage to another which resulted into a nasty looking finish. The 27 year old attempted to jump over a pit with fans during the live awards ceremony and while he barely made it on the other end, he landed on two fans, leg dropping one of them and landing on the hand of the other one. The leg drop was picture perfect unfortunately for the female fan, a leg drop which even Hulk Hogan himself admitted that it was done right! "MIGUELAMANIA at least he did it right brother," Hogan wrote on Twitter today. Many entertainment websites compared Miguel's leap to Hogan's leg drop and the name of Rey Mysterio even started trending during the show as fans started comparing Mysterio's flying leg drop to what they saw on TV. Hey, what about Fandango's finisher? The clip even got the Jim Ross treatment, with Ross' commentary from the Mankind vs. Undertaker Hell In A Cell overlapping the Miguel leg drop and landing! Dewey's Pizza in Cincinnati, OH has a Tito Santana pizza. The pizza has taco sauce, Chihuahua cheese, cheddar cheese, seasoned ground beef, red onions, corn chips with shredded lettuce, chipotle ranch and diced tomatoes.

Matt Riviera, President of TCW Wrestling, said that the General Manager of their TV affiliate in Meridian, MS, told him they are averaging a 6.5 rating in the market for the show. Can they turn those viewers into customers is always the big question, or turn those numbers into clearing deals elsewhere.

Oklafan congratulates Terry Montana & Richie Adams who recently surpassed 6 months as ComPro Tag Team Champions. They defeated The Swamp Men (Amphibian & Reptile) for the titles on November 17, 2012 at an event in Tulsa.

Bull Schmitt suffered a separated shoulder and a hyperextended knee at the Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling event in Alton, IL. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Striker was severely burned when his riding lawn mower caught fire and exploded. He was transported to a Tulsa hospital and it was reported he has 2nd degree burns on his face, chest, and arms. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends its condolences to family and friends of former referee Ron West, who passed away last week. West was a referee for several wrestling companies over the year including Mid-South Wrestling.

Les Thatcher posted on Facebook "Just heard this morning that my long time friend Ron West had passed away. A great guy, super referee and a all around wonderful human being. I will miss you my friend. With love, respect, and great memories, may you rest in peace."
