From the Mouth Of Marks

If you are not much of a professional wrestling fan, the title just flew by. It?s was a play on both pro wrestling and the Holy Bible. Alright, moving right along. I decided it was time to single a couple of people for a job well done. For those of you new to my blog, I try to take time out to highlight positive things people do, instead of being fixated and stewing over the negative.

There is an old adage that states ?If someone likes something, they may tell a few friends. However if someone doesn?t like something they will tell everyone?? I try to turn that around, because I think we can all recount encounters we have had that left a bad taste in our mouths and we over time I think become desensitized to poor service.

I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, that is to suggest that if people know they are doing a great job even by one person they will be encouraged to keep doing what they have been doing. This week I chose to focus on a group of individuals. In the past I wrote a post about one Paloma Vargas (Also known as Starr or Venus), and while she is still hitting it out of the ball park, I think there are some of her colleagues that giving her a little run for her money in the whole winning friends and influencing people.

I want to preface this by saying that I am not going to present this list in any particular order of importance. That is to suggest that all of these people should be commended for first captivating my attention for all the right reasons and second going out of their own way to interact with fans. I am not pandering to any particular individual when it comes to who happens to be list first second and so forth. I merely list names that pop into my mind as I can recall them.

Each of the following people I will be mentioning in this post represent IZW or Impact Zone Wrestling an organization that I have raved about on this particular blog in the past and these individuals give me even more of a reason to speak high of this promotion, so without any further delay let?s get to the praising shall we?

While I could recognize some of these individuals by name I will respectfully not do so because for whatever reason that information has not been made public. I am going to respect their right to privacy. If they each respectably give me permission later to divulge their respected identities, I will update this blog post to indicate that change.

I only post what information that has already been made publicly available. So, while it might make this post somewhat impersonable, I do my best to uphold a person?s right to privacy.

Double D (Twitter ? @IZWDoubleD)

Double D has been quite the engaging individual on Twitter and Facebook alike, he genuinely attempts to goad his fans and colleagues and insightful banter. While he likes to incorporate a little story telling in his messages (mostly to share what is going on in the world of IZW, for those that are either not fully familiar promotion or for some of us that have strayed away from IZW programming because of college football), he does it in such a way that it dominates the conversation.

I?ve been very transparent in my views about incorporating storyline verbiage in social media. I have been against it for only one reason and that is it tends to dominate the conversation, making it difficult if not completely impossible to get to know someone.

This is certainly not the case with Double D. He has many of the same interests I do, and we can discuss those interests or any some interests he may have that I don?t share. Nevertheless, he has been a positive force (pun completely intended) on both Twitter and Facebook and I thought it was mentioning.

It has been my esteemed pleasure having him as part of my followers list, because he always brings something new to the table. Just when you think you have figured out all of the answers he tends to change all of the questions. I could do with a little less character persona and storyline banter unless it is induce hilarity which was exactly what he did last Sunday night.

I was left kind of disappointed in the pay per view purchasing decision that I made, but he helped make up for it with a hysterical conversation that pitted him against Erica in a battle of wits. That banter had be laughing for a good couple of hours, and that is something I must admit wish I could see more of.

Nevertheless, he is doing very well for himself and represents IZW with the same intensity and enthusiasm that comes across on weekly IZW programming. I for one applaud his efforts.

This brings me to my next individual entitled to some praise, her name is Erica and if you are not following her on Twitter you are truly missing out. Now, she takes the whole storyline concept to a whole different level. She relishes in goading everyone into a conversation, staying in her character that she portrays on Saturday nights in Lawton.

She is quick witted and absolutely hysterical. I enjoy the interaction and if there is only one piece of advice I could give to her (not that she?s going to take it, because she?s Madame Commissioner and she?s perfect in every way, no really just ask her she?ll tell you) that would be I would like to see her open up more as an individual. I like to interact with people because I find them on some level interesting and would like to get to know more about a person.

Perhaps she?s shy and she prefers to stay guarded and I suppose that is okay, but it just seems like people such as myself are missing out on getting to know a really interesting, funny and whimsical person. Perhaps over time, she?ll lower her guard and I?ll find out that she is more awesome than my initial impression lets on.

Cody Jones (Twitter ? @ThePrinceDiego)

This young man has taken the proverbial ball and has absolutely ran with it. I am almost afraid to analogize his use of social media with a famed running back in the NFL, but if this individual keeps doing what he is doing he will become (at least in my book) the Walter Payton of social media.

He is all over the place: Twitter, Facebook it doesn?t matter to him. All that matters is that he makes it his absolute duty to interact with anyone that chooses to interact with him. I have had many pleasant interactions with Cody, and I am impressed with both his poise and professionalism. A rare feat in today?s social media landscape.

I suspect someone has been giving him some pointers, but I am not one to point fingers. I am only kidding, I am sure he knew how to conduct himself before being briefed if any briefing actually took place. Regardless, this man is ?getting it? and he proves that with every single interaction I am having the privilege to conduct with him.

Okay, so I am slightly bias. I have to give a man who takes Rage Against the Machine with him to the gym, some serious kudos. There is your prime example of what I am alluding too in this post. This guy freely acknowledged to me in a casual conversation what he was listing to while enduring physical wellness training.

No storyline, no staying in character. He was just being himself. Take notes professional wrestlers in other major organizations because this is how you do it. This is exactly how you connect to your fan base. This gentleman is destined for great things, he loves what he does and it absolutely shows. To say this is a passion of his seems too cliche to describe what keeps him going but he seems perfect content with using the word ?passion? who am I to disagree?

Angel Blue (Twitter ? @AngelBlue0830)

This brings me to the last person on my list of praise for this week, Angel Blue. This young lady embraces social media like Andre the Giant used to embrace his opponents in the ring, she gives it a great big bear hug. She infuses her twitter feed with an elegant blend of photography and interesting observations that makes following her a pure delight.

She seems to go out of her way to try and respond to as many people as she can on Twitter. She even entertains the occasional question from a fan and just a side note, if she ever teams up with Red Bull Stratos I will be the first to purchase a ticket for that match. A match that will give a whole new meaning to the term ?out of this world?. Sorry, a little inside joke that you would have been part of if you had followed her.

Now my interaction with her has only been brief, but I think given her youthful appearance that she is destined to show her older colleagues a thing or two about how to reach out to ones fan base. She is off to a great start, and like with anything else, she will only get better as time goes by. I am excited to see where this takes her, could we be seeing a future Shimmer champion in the making? I think so.

There you have it, I would like to once again thank those three individuals for allowing me to be part of their increasingly zany world. I think they have all done a fabulous job, with reaching out to fans and they don?t take any of them for granted. That is what I love to see. I encourage you to keep doing what you are doing, because regardless rather you realized it or not, someone was indeed paying attention.

As for you my reader, if you are a wrestling fan you definitely need to give these individuals some strong consideration and allow them to be part of your Twitter feed, they will only help to enhance your social media experience.
