Jerry Lawler says he plans to attend the "WWE Friday Night SmackDown!" tapings in his hometown of Memphis, TN on October 16th. The WWE Hall of Famer suffered a heart attack three weeks ago and made a quick recovery, although there is no timetable on when he will be back working behind the broadcast table for RAW every week. This would be his first in-person appearance at a WWE show since that almost tragic Monday night. Last week he appeared live via satellite from his home for a short interview with Michael Cole. Lawler appeared on Channel 3 News last week to talk about his heart attack, recovery, the support he received from fans worldwide, returning to wrestling for sure, and his announcement that he will appear in person on October 16th. Jerry Lawler did a meet and greet Friday at the Mid-South Fair in Southaven, MS. During a local TV interview last week, he said he plans to appear before the live crowd when WWE returns to his hometown of Memphis, TN on October 18th, and that he does plan to return to pro wrestling. Not sure if he?ll be announcing on the 18th, but his voice is still really rough post-surgery.

Jerry Lawler's return to the WWE broadcast team could be held off until 2013 according to PWInsider.com. The report notes there is concern as to whether or not Lawler is ready to handle the stress of traveling each week and performing on live television. WWE is in Lawler's hometown of Memphis, TN in mid-October, and while nothing has been confirmed, many are expecting Lawler to make some kind of appearance.

CM Punk was recently interviewed by The Sun in the United Kingdom. When asked about Jerry Lawler, he said ?Jerry, I can?t stress enough, is a fighter. Trust me, I know. I have a huge scar on the top of my head with nine staples in it. He is already on his way to making an amazing recovery.? He was also asked about working with Paul Heyman, "I?m very excited about it. It?s pretty crazy to me. We?ve never gotten to work together in front of the camera. I have worked with him extensively behind the camera. I think a lot of people are in for a treat. Rick Rude didn?t need anyone to talk for him, and Paul Heyman was his manager. Bobby Heenan didn?t need to talk for Ric Flair. Those are two examples of great duos. You?ll just have to wait to see what happens." To read the entire story, click here.

After "WWE Monday Night RAW" went off the air there was a dark match and then another round of Jim Ross Appreciation. There were appearances by Danny Hodge, Bill Watts, Triple H, Jerry Lawler via video, and University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops. Ross was presented with an award from WWE. Later in the evening, Ross posted on Twitter "Vince McMahon & HHH?s words were priceless & touching. I?m such a lucky, blessed man. Words cannot express my gratitude. Thanks #WWE & fans!"

There was a lot of talk this past week that "WWE Monday Night RAW" from Oklahoma City may hit an all-time audience low over the past nearly 15 years for a non-holiday show Monday. Last week's show was the lowest in almost 15 years and there was a Chicago Bears vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL football game last night. Wrestling in general has been getting hurt by football the last few weeks.

WWE and ION Television announced a partnerhsip last week that will provide ION with a weekly WWE television program called "WWE Main Event". The first taping of the show is tonight in Tulsa at the BOK Center.

Raquel Diaz (real name Shaul Marie Guerrero) has been granted her release from her WWE Developmental contract per her request. Her bio has also been removed from the WWE NXT website. She is the daughter of Vickie Guerrero and the late Eddie Guerrero, and the niece of Chavo Guerrero and Hector Guerrero. Vickie Guerrero commented on her daughter's WWE status on Twitter "@Shaul_Guerrero asked to be released from WWE for personal reasons. Im grateful to WWE for the support & love toward my family". Late last week, Shaul posted on Twitter "Thank you all for your love and support, WWE has been one of the highlights of my life. I learned so much and consider them family."

Former Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco says he wants to be a Social Media Ambassador for WWE. He posted on Twitter "Maybe I should be @wwe social ambassador. I?m better than Larry king. I?m definitely better than the @the_ironsheik." This comes about a week after Canseco posted a message on Twitter to TNA president Dixie Carter "Still waiting for Bruce Prichard?s phone call. I?m ready."

While Brooke Hogan became the figurehead executive of the TNA Knockout division on television, behind the scenes, Bruce Prichard is reportedly not a fan of the women, which likely explains recent Knockouts departures. Prichard is the Senior Vice President of Programming and Talent Relations for TNA Wrestling.

Former WCW World Champion Lex Luger will make his first wrestling TV appearance in several years at TNA's "Bound For Glory" weekend, helping induct Sting into the TNA Hall of Fame. The two have shared a long, long history together, sharing many WCW main events over several years. Luger was part of TNA as well, working with the company in 2003 and then in 2006. Hulk Hogan, A. J. Styles, Mike Tenay, and TNA President Dixie Carter will help with the induction, which will happen the day before the "Bound For Glory" pay-per-view.

Hulk Hogan and ?Rowdy? Roddy Piper, along with a cast of big names that included Vader, Jimmy Hart, Matt Hardy, ?Hacksaw? Jim Duggan, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky as The Beautiful People, Lita, and former New York Yankees pitcher Joe Ausanio reportedly drew 2,700 fans to Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, NY on September 22nd for Northeast Wrestling.

The Honky Tonk Man posted on Twitter "Got a weekend off. Need it. Was home 6 days in August. Just home from a big tour of Manitoba. Vancover Comic Con w/HTM Oct. 6/7."

Former KGO-TV sportscaster Don Sanchez in San Francisco, CA who was a big wrestling fan in the 1970s, and covered Roy Shire's big scandals of the time, celebrated 40 years with the station on Friday. They showed lots of old clips of his throughout the years including his appearing on a "This Is Your Life Ray Stevens" show, and at the Cow Palace in the 1970s interviewing Jimmy Snuka and Buddy Rose
