WWE News: Why Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix Were Featured but Didn't Participate

WWE News: Why Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix Were Featured but Didn't Participate

Posted: Aug 22nd 2012 By: mikeiles

If you were watching Raw last night, you witnessed a huge faux pas by the WWE regarding their Diva's match.

Prior to the match, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole teased the match as they were headed to break. During the tease, a full-screen graphic appeared with several Divas featured, most notably Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix.

In fact, K-2 was the center of the picture leaving many people?including myself to believe she was making her rumored return. Then, when Raw came back from break every Diva involved in the match was in the ring except K-2 and Phoenix.

As a longtime WWE fan, I expected to see the usual "featured" Divas get their entrance music and walk on-air.

But it never happened.

I even, anticipated a possible run-in during the match by at least one of them.

But that never happened.

Now, word is coming from WrestlingInc.com that the Divas may not have even been in attendance.

The article states:

Despite being featured in the graphic for last night's #1 contenders battle royal on RAW, WWE Divas Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix weren't even backstage.

To me, this was a huge oversight by the WWE as the graphic should have been looked at prior to making air. Don't get me wrong, I realize their presence wouldn't have made the match any better. However, it would have given it some much-needed buzz.

Ultimately, I am sure whoever is to blame has already felt the wrath and has gotten over it.

In the end, I can't say too much as we are all human. And, who knows? Maybe both were supposed to be there and plans were scrapped prior to them traveling. Unfortunately, if that is the case someone should have notified the control room.
