WWE Raw: 3 Possible Reasons Why Piper's Pit Sucked Tonight

Tonight on Monday Night Raw we were ?treated? to another edition of Piper's Pit, hosted by Roddy Piper. Usually Piper is quite entertaining in his role, but tonight that could not have been further from the truth.

Roddy Piper is always a colorful character and a fun addition to any WWE program. However, tonight something was way off. It seemed as if Piper was totally lost and unsure what his role was supposed to be.

The explanation for this problem seems to boil down to a few possibilities:

1. Roddy Piper is overexposed and his character is no longer interesting to the masses
2. Roddy Piper does not follow the WWE product and therefore is unaware of the current WWE storylines
3. The performers that he was sharing the ring with were not at the level of Roddy Piper and were unable to share the stage with him
Of the possibilities above, I tend to lean toward option two, ?Roddy Piper does not follow the WWE product and therefore is unaware of the current WWE storylines.?

If this is the case, WWE should use better judgment when putting a performer in a situation like Piper was in tonight. At the very least, someone could have brought Piper up to speed about what is currently happening on WWE programming.

Though Miz, Chris Jericho, Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler tried hard to keep the interview interesting, it was without success.

If WWE continues to put Piper on TV and he has lukewarm performances like tonight, the aura of Roddy Piper and Piper's Pit will cease to exist as we know it.
