NEWS
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Bill Goldberg contacted Brock Lesnar about returning and possibly setting up a match. At the present time, Lesnar only has two remaining major dates on his current WWE contract, one against Triple H at Summerslam and the other being at WrestleMania.

Jim Ross posted on Twitter last Friday "After NXT taping at Full Sail University in Orlando on July 12, I?m off to Waterloo, Ia to join Jerry Brisco for tryouts in Waterloo on 7/13".

There is another collection of fan encounters with pro wrestlers has been printed by Deadspin. This one includes stories about Roddy Piper, The Honky Tonk Man, and a visit by Jim Ross to his home town of Westville, OK which Ross calls a ?total fabrication?. You can read the article by clicking here.

The Doink the Clown that lost to Heath Slater on "WWE Monday Night RAW" last night was Steve Lombardi, AKA The Brooklyn Brawler. The original wrestler to portray Doink in WWF was Matt Borne. In later years in WWF and WWE, Doink was portrayed by several different wrestlers over the years including Phil Apollo, Steve Keirn, Dusty Wolfe, and Lombardi. The Doink that appeared in Oklahoma feds in 2005 through 2007 was Wolfe. The Doink that appeared in SWCW earlier this year was Borne.

A permanent General Manager for "WWE Monday Night RAW" and "WWE Friday night SmackDown!" will be announced on the 1,000th episode of WWE?s flag ship show on July 23rd in St. Louis, MO. The last GM, John Laurinaitis, was fired at the "No Way Out" pay-per-view as part of the stipulation in the outcome of the match involving John Cena and The Big Show. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon fired Laurinaitis at the pay-per-view just prior to Laurinaitis receiving the Attitude Adjustment on the announcers table from Cena. RAW and SmackDown have seen their fair share of General Managers over the past years including a variation of ?commissioners? including Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Sgt. Slaughter, Eric Bischoff, Teddy Long, Vickie Guerrero, the laptop otherwise known as the ?Anonymous RAW GM? and a ton of others.

Kyle Schadler of BleacherReport.com wrote a 2 part story entitled "Wrestling Gold: The History of the WWE United States Championship" and in the story he highlights every wrestler to hold that title starting in 1975 when the National Wrestling Alliance awarded the title to Harley Race, although the NWA announced Race had defeated Johnny Weaver in a tournament final. In addition to Race, other former title holders featured in part 1 of the story include Terry Funk, Paul Jones 2nd, Ric Flair, Mr. Wrestling, Jimmy Snuka, Greg Valentine, Roddy Piper, Wahoo McDaniel, Sgt. Slaughter, Dick Slater, Magnum T. A., Nikita Koloff, Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Michael Hayes, Stan Hansen, Sting, Rick Rude, Jim Duggan, Vader, One Man Gang, and Jeff Jarrett. Part 1 can be read by clicking here. Part 2 should be made available later this week.

Joseph Lisnow of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE Monday Night Raw: Top 10 Bumps in the Show's History" and among those listed were The New Age Outlaws push Mick Foley & Terry Funk off the stage while locked in a dumpster, Edge pushed off the ladder to the outside through a table (vs. Ric Flair), and The Dudley Boyz powerbomb Mae Young off the stage. Each entry also has a clip of the bump on the page. To read the entire story, click here.

Erik Beaston of BleacherReport wrote a story entitled "WWE Monday Night Raw: Ranking the 25 Best Wrestlers of the Raw Era" and coming in at #1 was Steve Austin. Others on the list include Jeff Jarrett at #25, and Mick Foley at #7. To read the entire story, click here.

Riley Kontek of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE Raw 1000: 3 Legends We'd Love to See Beat Heath Slater" and among those listed were Sgt. Slaughter and Rikishi. To read the entire story, click here.

Andy Soucek of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "14 WWE Wrestlers Hall of Fame Bound: From Cena to Khali" and one of the wrestlers listed was Beth Phoenix. To read the entire story, click here.

John Kindelan of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE: What Other Former WWE Champions Could Compete at Money in the Bank?" and among those listed was Mick Foley. To read the entire story, click here.

Pedro Suarez of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE Favorites: Best 25 Superstar Theme Songs" and among the wrestlers who's theme songs were listed were Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, Ric Flair, and Cactus Jack. To read the entire story, click here.

As part of his release from TNA, Ric Flair does have a non-compete clause, although it is unclear when it expires.

Jeff Jarrett is in talks with Endomol about possibly producing a television show similar to Ring Ka King but for the Argentina market. It?s just preliminary talks at this point.

Jim Cornette is apparently not a fan of former WCW announcer Mark Madden, who is currently a sports radio host in Pittsburgh, PA. Cornette posted on Twitter last week "Anyone tweeting me about Mark Madden is blocked.I do not recognize the existence of that waste of flesh in the world I live in.Good day."
