Breaking Treyfabe: Saved By The Bell

Breaking Treyfabe: Saved By The Bell

This past Saturday night we were treated to a great card for a great cause in Broken Arrow. It was a benefit for a young girl with cancer and it was nice to see wrestlers from different federations, as well as fans from different federations ? come together for such a good charity.

When the staff of Breaking Treyfabe got to the event, we were surprised to see that many great wrestlers from local federations were not booked. We are talking about some EVERLASTingly AWESOME wrestlers that should have been booked folks. In fact, I think that every wrestler in Tulsa that was not out DJing weddings was at this card either booked or in attendance.

Despite some below average acoustics in the Salvation Army gymnasium, we were able to make out bits and pieces of Tim Rockwell?s opening vignette in which he talked about the benefit we were there for.

Soon enough though, the Bullies (Russ Rogers, Kyle Kelly, and Anthony Jackson) came to the ring asking Rockwell why they were not listed on the show poster. Rockwell had no good answer so he got slapped around a bit before declaring himself and two mystery partners would be facing the Bullies in the main event.

The opening match was a battle royal that featured a few contestants such as Rolling Thunder, Canadian Red Devil, Striker, and Oklahoma?s greatest talent Richie Adams. Striker, CRD, and Ritchie were the last three in the ring and controversially CRD eliminated Ritchie to win the match. The crowd, obviously upset that Richie lost, started chanting USA much to the chagrin of the Canadian Red Devil. Ritchie continues to get robbed and really is too talented to be in an opening match.

The next match was a battle between my girl?s favorite wrestler, Mr. Nasty Nasty Robert Lee against Ace Archuleta. Ace got a little emotional and I?m uncertain if it was because of Mr. Nasty?s fade haircut but he ended up giving Lee a low blow and getting himself disqualified. Big Smooth came to the ring after the match and beat up both Ace and Lee. Always great to see Smooth clean house.

The highlight match of the event was the tag team match between the Ring Intruders (Jon Cross and John Ross Fuel) against Christopher Fury and Anarchy. Now there are some sites you will see list Anarchy as Anarchy 2nd but that is disrespectful. We are talking as disrespectful as the time that Cher asked for Nicholas Cage?s blessing in Moonstruck.

The match saw action go back and forth and though Fury and Anarchy had control much of the match, they lost a very close and hard fought battle that make me want to buy the upcoming DVD release of this event on Coliseum Home Video.

Now, I do have to admit that though that was the highlight match of the event, it was not the highlight of the event. That came next as when C. M. Burnham was doing a vignette trying to figure out who Rockwell?s mystery partners were ended up getting pummeled by the Bullies, who slapped his glasses off, gave him a few low blows, and even yanked on his beard until he cried. It was beautiful and was a long time coming.

The above paragraph was written by Breaking TreyFabe featured columnist Alec Bisogno. [Editor's note: After consulting with Alec Bisogno, Oklafan.com has discovered this statement to be a fabrication]

Cast-Iron Cothern got a clean pin over X-Cal in a brawler vs. high flyer match. It was a solid enough match that saw both wrestlers try some top rope moves that did damage to both of them.

The main event started off slow but ended up with some fun crowd pleasing moments as the Bullies got their come-uppance at the hands of Tim Rockwell and his mystery partners, Jake McCoy and Striker. Was hoping the mystery partners would either be Bad Bromance or the Clockwork Clique, Excellence Personified, or even Chris Morrison and Sam Stackhouse, but McCoy and Striker were fun enough.

Overall it was a great card and it also had an underlying morale of that you should never strive to be a bully, instead ? you should watch this video?.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nRNvyqVl9w&feature=player_embedded
