According to reports from WrestlingObserver.net, WWE has finally purchased the old Mid South Wrestling tape collection from the family of Ene Watts, who acquired the collection as part of her divorce settlement from ?Cowboy? Bill Watts, WWE had been negotiating for the video library for quite some time. The timing more than likely has to do with the WWE Network starting and them wanting programming that hasn't been seen on the air in 25 years. However, as of this morning, the UniversalWrestling.com website was still up and running and still said "The ONLY Official Source for Mid-South Wrestling, Power Professional Wrestling, and Universal Wrestling Federation" as part of their welcome message.

According to published reports, Beth Phoenix and Edge are an item. The two attended a hockey game together in Newark, NJ on May 30th. Phoenix previously dated CM Punk, who is said to be dating Amy Dumas (AKA Lita).

Jerry Lawler posted on Twitter last Tuesday "Really thought last nights RAW was one of the most fun and entertaining shows in a while. Appreciated the apology Cena squeezed from Cole!"

Jim Ross on Twitter wrote "After sleeping on it, sort of feel bad for @michaelcole. Humiliation is no fun, trust me. He's got tuf gig".

Bret Hart was recently interviewed by Arda Ocal of The Score Television Network and spoke on several things including how Shawn Michaels stole the idea of a Ladder Match from him and how Ultimate Warrior was supposed to lose the WWE World Title to Bret himself. He also commented on Wrestlemania 8 with Roddy Piper and his chance with the Intercontinental Title. He said "When I realized I was going to wrestle Roddy Piper, my gut instinct told me that Piper was going to keep the title for a while, and I would sort of be back up to him. It didnt work out like that, and I?m glad it didn?t because I kind of had my heart set on a good healthy long run as the Intercontinental champion. I thought at the time I got the title that I earned it and I wanted to have my chance. When I lost it to The Mountie I thought they never gave me my chance." He also spoke about Piper "passing the torch" to him and other wrestlers not doing the same by saying "For him to pass the torch down to me, kind of thing, was a pretty big step for me. At that time a lot of wrestlers didn?t want to make that kind of effort for me, and I?m not sure why or what their arguments might have been. So many guys when I look back on my career, like even when I won the World Title I was supposed to go over on Warrior, I would have gone over on Warrior at the Rumble, never happened. I was supposed to wrestle Jake Roberts first at Survivor Series, never happened, it's too bad in the case of Jake Roberts, he?s a guy that, I had this great career and never wrestled Jake Roberts one time." Zach Linder of [http://www.wwe.com]WWE.com[/url] wrote a story entitled "Game of Thrones: The Top 10 Kings of the Ring" and coming in at #1 was, to no surprise, Steve Austin (1996). Others on the list include Harley Race (1986) at #6. Surprisingly, or not surprisingly depending on how you look at it, Owen Hart did not make the list. To read the entire story, click here.

On the Classics section of WWE.com, they posted a story entitled "The 15 Greatest Families in WWE History" and coming in at #1 was, to no surprise, is The McMahons. Others on the list include The DiBiases at #15, The Poffos at #13, The Windhams at #10, The Briscos at #9, The Rhodes at #8, The Funks at #7, The Guerreros at #6, The Ortons at #5, The Von Erichs at #4, The Anoa'i/Maivias at #3, and The Harts at #2. Barry O worked for WWF in the mid to late 1980's, mostly an enhancement talent. He was also one of the most outspoken critics during the sex scandal that hit WWF in the early 1990's.

In response to WWE?s list of the top 15 families in wrestling, Cody Rhodes posted on Twitter "The geniuses at WWE.com (the same geniuses that left Thunderbolt P off the greatest talkers list) have assembled a new list? the top 15 wrestling families. As the least bias of my name, if you were basing these off of the bottom line, I could see number 5, maybe 6.. 8 though?? You might be able to hear me laughing all the way from Turkey. I hope we?re not paying these guys much."

At last week's TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view conference call, ?The Icon? Sting admitted that he was a 9, on scale from 1 to 10, signing with World Wrestling Entertainment prior to last year?s Wrestlemania. Sting categorized previous negotiations with Vince McMahon being a 6 or 7, but noted he was surprised that the sides did not reach an agreement, affording the Stinger an opportunity a chance to work with The Undertaker. TNA president Dixie Carter revealed that Christian was going to be in Arlington, TX for TNA?s "Slammiversary" pay-per-view. According to WrestlingObserver.com, this is part of the deal that secured Ric Flair for WWE?s Hall of Fame ceremony in April. The idea was for Christian to be at a show and do a sitdown interview for a DVD release or releases talking about his time in TNA or for possible releases on wrestlers in TNA.

On Sunday afternoon, Karen Jarrett posted on Twitter that she and her husband Jeff Jarrett would not be appearing at that night's "Slammiversary" pay-per-view. Karen also stated on Twitter that Jeff will not be the first inductee into TNA?s Hall of Fame.

During the TNA Hall of Fame segment at "Slammiversary", TNA President Dixie Carter comes out to the ring. She announces this is the largest live crowd for TNA in the United States. Carter thanks every wrestler for stepping in the TNA ring making the company what it is today. She invites all TNA wrestlers and staff to walk out to the stage. Dixie introduces the first inductee into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame, Sting. A video package airs featuring Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, and others talking about Sting?s career. Sting being very humble as he hugs Dixie in the ring. Dixie announces the formal induction will take place at "Bound for Glory" in October. A loud ?THANK YOU STING? chant starts up. Sting takes the mic and says he wasn?t prepared for this. He thanks Dixie, the men and women of the TNA roster and a thank you chant for the fans.

Later during "Slammiversary", Hulk Hogan comes out and says he wants to continue the surprises and introduces current WWE star Christian, although Hogan introduced him under his TNA name of Christian Cage. The fans start a ?WELCOME BACK? chant as Christian grabbed the mic. ?So can you guess the question I?ve been asked the most this week? Are the rumors true? Will you be appearing at Slammiversary this Sunday? Well drink it in. Who would have thunk it huh? Christian Cage standing right here in a TNA ring. One?two?three?it seems to me the last time I was here there were a few more corners here.? He adds that while things change, the fans don?t change and congratulates TNA for existing for 10 years. Christian calls for everyone to get on their feet and then presents the #1 moment in TNA history. The #1 moment is the return of Sting in 2006. A video package then ran highlighting the events involving A. J. Styles, Dixie Carter, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian and setting up the Styles & Kurt Angle vs. Daniels & Kazarian match.

Among those visiting backstage at "Slammiversary" included Lance Hoyt (Vance Archer), Stacy ?The Kat? Carter, and Killer Tim Brooks. There was a lot of buzz backstage that Jeff Jarrett wasn?t there.

Kyle Schadler of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Wrestling Gold: The History of the TNA World Tag Team Championship". The story highlights every team to hold the World Tag Team Titles recognized by TNA, which also includes the time TNA used and recognized the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Crimson called Goldberg out on TNA's Impact Wrestling". When Goldberg was told about it by a fan on Twitter, he reponded with one word: "Who???"

Goldberg was asked on Twitter if he was going to be at TNA's "Slammiversary". His response was "HELL NO!!!!!!!"

Bill Goldberg and Brian Knobbs were among the celebrities at the Jim Kelly Celebrity Classic VIP Charity Gala Sunday night in Buffalo, NY. Goldberg came on stage a couple of times to shut up the crowd when Jim was trying to speak but mostly kept out of sight all night. Knobbs was probably the most accessible celebrity, taking pictures and talking with guests all night long.

The Honky Tonk Man had some nice things to say about Devon Nicholson and his wrestling ability. Nicholson was offered a WWE developmental contract but the offer was then rescinded when Nicholson tested positive for Hepatitus C. Nicholson claims he caught the disease from Abdullah the Butcher in a match in which Abdullah used a blade on Nicholson after first using it on himself. Nicholson has filed lawsuits against both Abdullah and WWE.

In an "Aftermath Radio" clip, Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas spoke to Haku about the truth behind the infamous bar fight between he and Jimmy Jack Funk in 1987 where, according to some accounts, Haku pulled out Funk's eyeball. To listen to the clip, click here.

New Jack recently did an interview with RF Video and in a clip recently uploaded to You Tube, he talks about he doesn't like Abdullah the Butcher. In the clip, New Jack also shows paperwork to the camera that he doesn't have HIV, as apparently claimed by Abdullah. New Jack then challenges Abdullah to provide paperwork that Abdullah himself doesn't have any diseases. The clip has vulgar language but can be seen by clicking here.

Thursday on the "Stoney & Bill Show" in Detroit, MI, they asked callers who should be the faces on the Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling. The names mentioned the most were Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Andre the Giant, and Randy Savage. The hosts kept talking about how the 80s and 90s are so much better than today. There was only one mention of John Cena from a caller, but callers did bring up Triple H, Undertaker, and Kane. There was also one mention of Edge from a caller who said that it was one of his sons picks. Stoney said WrestleMania III was one of the most fun events he ever saw. They also played promos of Ric Flair, Savage, Ultimate Warrior, and others. The hosts raved about the Flair promo. Jim Duggan got a few mentions. Very few mentions of Steve Austin. They also got into a discussion about George Steele, who before retiring to Florida, lived most of his life in Madison Heights, MI as a high school football coach.

During Saturday night's Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game, local announcer Mark Grace was talking about an upcoming Lucha Libre mask night game and brought up Mil Mascaras, and talked about him being a legendary wrestler and such. The other announcer did not know who he was.

Adam Thornstowe competed in the NPC Nevada State Bodybuilding championships Saturday in Reno, NV.
