NEWS
The WWE's new ECW DVD called "ECW Unreleased Volume 1" has Shane Douglas vs. Too Cold Scorpio (8/27/94), Shane Douglas vs. Cactus Jack (2/17/96), Shane Douglas vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (11/30/97), Shane Douglas vs. Taz (1/10/99) among other featured matches. Blu Ray Extras are the Shane Douglas vs. Terry Funk vs. Sabu "The Night the Line Was Crossed" match and a Tommy Dreamer vs. Jimmy Snuka match from 1994.

During the evening bloc of "Access Hollywood", "TMZ", and "Extra" last Monday night, there were no mentions at all about WrestleMania. "Extra" showed quick highlights of Maria giving the stinkface with Kelly Kelly and then the pin on Beth Phoenix. Nothing at all on Rock vs. Cena. They even promoted it like Maria was the big star of WrestleMania. From there they brushed it off and went right to her backstage coverage segment of "Dancing with the Stars".

By the time Jim Ross left his home to go to Florida, he thought he wouldn?t be a part of WrestleMania except for watching it like a fan. What he didn?t know was that The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels were pressuring the powers that be to have him call the ?end of an era? Hell in a Cell match. And when three of the most successful and powerful Superstars all want it, you bet your ass it?s going to be granted. ?WWE upper mgmt made it happen. It was confirmed late Friday night,? Jim Ross wrote on Twitter, revealing that it was all three of them who requested his presence ringside and to do play-by-playof the match.

Corey Ledesma, the creative director of WWE Games, announced for the "WWE 13" video game that the Road to WrestleMania mode has been scrapped and will be replaced by a Story Mode. There will be a group of changes announced and it's no secret Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler have been doing stuff for the games of late regarding older talent involvement.

Richard Boudreau of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE: 10 DVD/Blu-Ray Sets That Should've Been Made by Now" and among those listed were Harley Race and Andre the Giant. To read the entire story, click here.

Chris Humphrey of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE News: Watch Former Champion Bill Goldberg Get Back in the Ring" which also has a video attached to it. He enters a boxing ring in the new TV show "Staged". You can read the story and watch the video by clicking here.

Chris Featherstone of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "5 Worst World Heavyweight Champions Since Its 2002 Return" and coming in at #1 was The Great Khali. Others on the list include Goldberg at #5 and Jack Swagger at #2. To read the entire story, click here.

Ryan Dilbert of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Brock Lesnar and the Best Former Amateur Wrestlers in WWE History" and coming in at #1 was Kurt Angle. Others on the list include Ric Flair at #19, Rick Steiner at #18, Mike DiBiase at #15, Gerald Brisco at #13, Steve Williams at #12, Jack Swagger at #11, Jack Brisco at #8, and Mr. Wrestling at #5. To read the entire story, click here.

Dan Irwin of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE: Wrestling's Top 10 Greatest Entrances of All Time" and coming in at #1 was Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III, March 29, 1987. Others on the list include Sting at WCW Starrcade, January 4, 1992 at #8, and Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania XII March 31, 1996 at #4. To read the entire story, click here.

Jim Cornette made some comments about The Miz while doing a radio interview. You can listen to the one minute clip by clicking here.

There was a really strange Ric Flair interview Wednesday on Charlotte sports talk. He claimed his match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV was his last match, said Vince McMahon was the best marketer alive and noted he's wearing both of his Hall of Fame rings. He said pro wrestling is The Rock's home and Hollywood is his superficial home. He said he loved Brock Lesnar returning to wrestling and hopes his health holds up. He was unaware about Jay Strongbow's death and said that he hadn't seen him in ten years.

New Japan Chairman Takaaki Kidani noted on Twitter that he attended an AWA show in Chicago 24 years ago and said that Jerry Lawler vs. Kerry Von Erich was the main event and that he first met Tatsumi Fujinami at this show.

The autobiography of Jim Duggan is now out, ghost written by Scott Williams of the Wrestling Observer staff. Duggan looks at his high school and college sports days, a state champion in wrestling and a starter at SMU in football, playing in the NFL and CFL, breaking into wrestling in Dallas through Fritz Von Erich, becoming a star in Mid South and his WWF run, plus his incident with the Iron Sheik that nearly ended his WWF career.

There is a new "Bloodstained Memories 2" DVD coming out that includes D-Lo Brown, Rollerball Mark Rocco (original Black Tiger in Japan), Abyss, Tammy Sytch, Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly), Al Snow, Dawn Marie, Tito Santana, and Terry Funk. It is expected to be released in June.

There is a video posted of Shane Douglas in South Philadelphia outside the old ECW Arena and mentions his upcoming "Extreme Reunion" show on April 28th. You can see the video by clicking here.

The headline story and most read story Saturday morning on CNN was about the first Jerry Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman match in Memphis on April 5, 1982. Author Wayne Drash was at the Mid South Coliseum and interviewed both Lance Russell and Dave Brown for the story. They went a little overboard in crediting that feud with transforming the pro wrestling industry with the idea it paved the way for celebrity involvement in wrestling, but celebrity involvement in wrestling went back to the beginning of time. The story is available by clicking here. The story said the attendance was a sellout 11,200 but actual attendance was 8,100. The Lawler vs. Kaufman feud never sold out in Memphis. Early on, it drew above average crowds but was never a through the roof success. The most successful show was actually 13 months later with Lawler vs. Kaufman & The Colossus of Death (Duke Myers) that drew 9,194 and Kaufman's last appearances drew 3,000 to 4,000. Scott Bowden, wrote about the first match which you can read by clicking here.

Larry Zbyszko posted on Twitter: "I AM NOT DEAD !! I can never die !! I am the Living Legend?. This is my one and only real Twitter account so I want the spud head to quit LYING about me! .. I look better than John Cena and I would?ve beaten THE ROCK !!" He followed up a few days later posting "My girlfriend made a video about these lying spudheads." To see the video of Zbyszko's girlfriend, click here.

Ultimate Warrior posted on Twitter "Unexpected, exciting, new challenge. Torn Bicep. Reattached Monday. Rehab and Training commences immediately. ABW".

The Florida Gators had their spring football game Saturday and running back Mack Brown, after getting nailed, said, "He picked me good. He Goldberged me."

Kamala Jr. posted of Facebook "I am sad to report that on Thursday April 5 James Kamala Harris will have his right foot removed".

Oklafan congratulates Se7en for becoming the longest reigning champion of any documented title reign in Oklahoma independent wrestling. He won the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Title from The Canadian Luchadore in a Triple Threat Match that also included Sam Stackhouse on August 14, 2010 at a show in Tulsa. The previous record holder for longest documented reign was Leather, who's SRPW Women's Title reign was 1 year, 7 months, 16 days. Se7en surpassed that on March 31st.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the family and friends of Chief Jay Strongbow, who passed away on April 3rd at the age of 83. He began his wrestling career in 1947 using his real name Joe Scarpa and began using the name Jay Strongbow when he entered the World Wide Wrestling Federation. He used the Strongbow name until his retirement in 1994. He won the WWWF Tag Team Titles in 1972, 1976, and twice in 1982. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1994. He is also the father of pro wrestlers Jay Strongbow, Jr. and Mark Young.

WWE issued the following statement on the death of WWE Hall of Famer Chief Jay Strongbow: "WWE was saddened to learn of the passing of Jay Scarpa, who was better known to the WWE Universe as Chief Jay Strongbow. Strongbow made his in-ring debut in 1947, and over the course of his WWE career, he participated in many memorable matches. A four-time World Tag Team Champion, Strongbow was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1994. WWE sends our deepest condolences to Strongbow?s family, friends, and fans."

WWE also had a video made honoring Jay Strongbow's life and career. You can see the video by clicking here.
