WWE: Why Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger Should Be Tag Champions

WWE: Why Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger Should Be Tag Champions

Posted: Feb 2nd 2012 By: mikeiles

Now that Dolph Ziggler has lost some of his momentum as a contender for the WWE Title, and there's not a true top contender for Jack Swagger, the U.S. Heavyweight Title, what happens to the run Vickie Guerrero's stable had before the Royal Rumble?

No one seems to be stepping up to challenge either of the studs who had been primed for a run in singles competition. Zack Ryder being "injured" and Chris Jericho and Sheamus stepping up have made the rise and fall of these two look like a small wave at the beach.

So why not put the tag team belts on these two superstars? It would fall in line with a traditional "stable" having multiple titles and possibly more wrestlers in the future. And having the two hold straps together could influence the WWE into trying their hand at a tag team division.

What a novel concept.

Here are some other reasons why both Ziggler and Swagger would be obvious choices for tag team champions.

No One Will Take Epico and Primo Seriously

They beat Air Boom and claimed the titles, but do you really see them as long-term champions?

We did, however, say the same thing about Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne.

While they are young and talented, they cannot carry the titles for an extended period of time. They are not Paul London and Brian Kendrick.

At some point, a bigger, stronger and powerful team will up end them.

It Gives Us a Chance to Hear Vickie Guerrero on Camera Some More

No serious, hear me out on this one.

I don't like the mouth and the attitude. But Vickie Guerrero is the best manager in the business today. She does what a manager should do. She is perfect for her role.

And she can battle for her stable with the best of them.

Maybe the Jim Cornette of this generation.

New Tag Teams Will Develop

Cody Rhodes and The Miz. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston. Zack Ryder and Ted DiBiase.

All three teams could be really good in the new division. And with Swagger and Ziggler, those are four huge teams that would get the fans excited.

Kofi Kingston Is Being Given a Push Toward Single's Gold

While having Kingston in the tag team division, it looks like he's going to be given a push toward the singles titles.

If he does not win a title (Intercontinental Title, WWE Title, etc.) look for him to jump back into tag team wrestling because he's a pretty good tag team wrestler.

Who Is There to Challenge Swagger?

It looked like Swagger and Zack Ryder may trade the belt back and forth. Now that will not happen.

So who jumps out and challenges Swagger for his United States Title?

Now that we have seen Justin Gabriel almost beat Cody Rhodes, could someone like Drew McIntyre come out of the locker room and give Swagger a run?

Sheamus Is a Top Contender for the WWE Title

First of all, I hated seeing Sheamus kick Swagger's tail each week.

But since he won the Royal Rumble, that's not a viable option to challenge either one of them.

I think Sheamus will jump at the chance to face either CM Punk or Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Chris Jericho Took Ziggler's Spot in the Rotation

It looked like Ziggler was going to be pushed for a world title. Then the WWE changed paths and have Chris Jericho and Sheamus hovering over the top spot.

What to do with Ziggler? He went from being a leading contender to an afterthought in one night.

In my opinion, that's a waste of good talent?
