TNA News: Ric Flair States That He Has No Plans on Retiring

For those of you that were thinking Ric Flair's wrestling days were numbered, you may be mistaken. According to wrestleheat.com, Flair was interviewed by UK's The Skinny to promote TNA's upcoming overseas tour. During the interview, Flair was asked a variety of questions including retirement plans.

According to the article Flair stated:

no plans on retiring from the industry anytime soon.? He added, ?I feel that I still have so much to give to TNA. If the time ever comes that I cannot contribute anything to the company that is when I would have to consider my position within TNA. I am privileged that I have a limited schedule in TNA so my time in many respects is my own. Just now I like to spend time with my family and love to do some fishing. When I retire I?ll be doing more of the same.

I am simply baffled!

As you probably know, Flair was offered an ambassador position from the WWE which included a limited schedule. He was given the biggest send off in wrestling history and turned down the contract allegedly due to the amount of money WWE was offering.

I can only assume that TNA is offering him more money to work in a similar position. As of late, it appears Flair has been holding an ambassador-like position for TNA by doing media tours like this.You may remember, a few months back he garnered some press for TNA, when he went to Boston to throw out the first pitch. He also presented a TNA replica title to Dustin Pedroia.

Flair will be a great ambassador for TNA and as we saw last year he can be an amazing manager for wrestlers with in-ring talent and no mic skills. I only hope that Flair continues to be used in this facet. I don't even have an issue with special appearance matches. Bobby Heenan did them while he was a manager in the '80s and '90s, so why not use Flair in the same way?
