Jerry ?The King? Lawler wrestled a match on Saturday during the WWE house show in his hometown of Memphis, TN. Lawler made the surprise appearance after Jack Swagger got rid of Zack Ryder quickly and then called for someone from Memphis who is tough enough to face him. Lawler hit the ring to accept the challenge and won the match. John Cena, writing on Twitter, said that the huge crowd at Memphis was wonderful and it was good to see Lawler ?doing his thing.?

On Twitter, a follower asked Jim Ross, ?is the anonymous RAW general manager still into play or has that been ousted?? Ross replied, ?Can?t imagine it?s totally gone.?

Jim Ross was asked on Twitter: ?Whatever happened to former NWA referee Tommy Young?? Ross replied, ?Last I heard he was delivering pizza in Charlotte.?

The Miz was a guest on Fox 23 Tulsa's "DayBreak" morning show on Monday promoting that night's "WWE Monday Night RAW" live telecast in Tulsa. He spoke about being booed by fans, how becoming a WWE superstar is a childhood dream, and much more. To watch the video, click here.

Current WWE RAW World Champion Alberto Del Rio missed the weekend live events in Memphis, TN and North Little Rock, AR to take care of working documents. Del Rio had to go back to Mexico to renew his work visa, a normal procedure for non-U.S. citizens working in the country. Any non-U.S. citizen must return to his place of birth to get it renewed and being the WWE champion certainly offers no special privileges. It was thought that Del Rio would be back in time for the "WWE Monday Night RAW" live telecast on Monday which took place in Tulsa, but that was not the case.

The WWE creative staff, feeling under a lot of pressure to put together two strong television shows this week, was changing much of the script for "Monday Night RAW" on Monday leading up to the live event in Tulsa. The plan was for Triple H to return to the ring at the Survivor Series, but obviously, an audible was called after it was announced that CM Punk would face Kevin Nash at the Night of Champions PPV. For an unknown reason, Triple H changed the match at the end of Raw to himself vs. Punk. The word backstage last night was that Nash?s removal from the PPV was due to medical reasons, but we should know more on the situation shortly.

The video announcement that C. M. Punk would wrestle Triple H and not Kevin Nash at "Night of Champions" was not shown to the live audience in Tulsa. It has been reported that Nash is currently injured.

Brett DiBiase, son of Ted DiBiase, is no longer under contract to WWE. Brett requested his release, and is leaving of his own accord, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Brett, at age 23, has already had neck fusion surgery and just had his fourth knee operation. Recently, Brett was working as a referee for Florida Championship Wrestling, but realized dropping on the mat for all the pinfall attempts was painful, and asked to be let out of his deal.

Wes Brisco, son of Gerald Brisco, has been released from his WWE developmental deal. He suffered an injury in December 2010 while holding the Florida Championship Wrestling Tag Team Titles with Xavier Woods. Brisco & Woods were stripped of the titles due to Brisco's injury.

Mick Foley posted on Twitter about rumors of his premature demise: ?There is no truth to the rumor that I am dead,? Foley stated. ?Maybe one of you who is familiar with Wikipedia can have that rumor removed.?

Mick Foley has admitted that he held talks with WWE regarding a possible return with the company, three years after he left to try out TNA Wrestling. Speaking to "The Wrestling Voice" audio show, the former WWE champion revealed that his return to the WWE comes down to how many dates he wants to work every month and what the future holds for him in WWE. The hardcore legend said that he?d be happy with working off camera although he still has a couple of good matches left in him. He added that he?s losing some weight so if WWE asks him to wrestle he?ll be able to perform. Foley also teased that he might pop up at the WWE tour in the United Kingdom in November as he will be doing a comedy tour in the country when WWE is in town for their fall tour. There is a really sad article on the financial decline of Ric Flair on Bill Simmons? website which lists court records on Flair?s various divorces, arrests and lawsuits dating back more than 20 years. The article was actually written months ago but the writer was unsuccessful in getting Flair to comment publicly. They note that Flair declared debt totaling $1.7 million in 2009 and reveal his current TNA salary is in the ballpark of $22,000 per month (based on depositions) while suggesting that despite all of this that he still lives way beyond his means. Flair was furious with the article. Last week through his agent Melinda Morris Zanoni he threatened legal action. He?s specifically unhappy that the article notes he suffers from alcoholic cardiomyopathy ? suggested due to years of excessive drinking. This may be posturing more than anything. It was actually Flair who first broke the news about his heart condition in his own book. He?s been told by his doctor for years to stop drinking or risk further heart issues.

Chavo Guerrero defended Ric Flair on Twitter: "I don?t care what any1 says,but Ric Flair is a great guy,a true friend&1 of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in a ring! I support u Ric!"

Bill Goldberg is returning to the ring this fall in Africa, and the former world champion claims that 100% of the proceeds will benefit various charitable organizations.

Bill Goldberg was interviewed by Fox 23 Tulsa while he was in town to host the MMA after party at the Hard Rock Casino in Catoosa this past Friday. He spoke about great memories growing up in Tulsa, had some disparaging words about Vince McMahon, and teased his return to the ring. To see the video, click here.

Greg Valentine was interviewed by "Mr. Dante Luna", a documentary web series that covers different careers in an attempt to save individuals time and money on their own journey to success. Valetine spoke about his 40 plus years in wrestling. You can see the video by clicking here.

Last Thursday was the 24th anniversary of the show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA where they filmed the "Piledriver" video for Koko B. Ware and had him lip synching in the ring. They made Ware do it three times and the crowd didn't like it the first time, and downright hated it the second and third time. Ken Patera may have torn his tricep that night. This was a long night, more than 20 matches. They taped four hours of television and then Hulk Hogan beat Killer Khan in the main event. The crowd was still hot for the main event after all that.

Interesting trivia note: Jim Duggan, a 1973 graduate of Glens Falls High School in Glens Falls, NY was both a football star and won the state heavyweight championship in his senior year in wrestling. He got a scholarship to Southern Methodist University, where he met Fritz Von Erich, who had gone to the same college, and got him started in wrestling. His father was the longtime Chief of Police in Glens Falls and until recently, Duggan was considered the best athlete to come out of the town until James "Jimmer" Fredette went to Brigham Young University as a basketball star.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the friends and family of professional wrestler Donna Christanello who passed away on August 25th. She was trained by The Fabulous Moolah, and wrestled in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. In 1987, Christantello wrestled as part of Sensational Sherri?s team at WWE's "Survivor Series" pay-per-view event.
