Mick's Blog: French Fries with the Franchise
Posted: May 7th 2010 By: mikeiles
Just got back from having late night french fries with the Franchise. Actually, I had wings and some of that apple pie a la mode that King's restaurants in Western Pa. are known for. But I did get to spend time with two of the people most instumental to my career - Dominec DeNucci and Shane Douglas. I also got to participate in the Deaf Wrestlefest event at the Western Pa School for the Deaf - my first appearance at the annual show since 1996.
I don't get to see either Shane or Dominec too much these days, but I know my chances at making it in the ultra-competitive world of pro-wrestling would have been so much slimmer without a trainer like DeNucci, who was able to see something special in a student who at first glance didn't seem to exude any special qualities, or a friend like Shane, who brought out the best in me in both training and matches. I really don't know where I'd be today if I hadn't been fortunate enough to meet both of them.
