- Mick Foley did an autograph session in Binghamton, NY on August 5th. He appeared at the 22nd annual Spiedie Fest to sign free autographs for fans. He was incredibly nice to all the fans that showed up, signing everything they asked him to (including a Chef Boyardee can that someone brought!) He also allowed anyone in line to take pictures of him while he was signing their autographs. Definitely a class act. He also was on hand at a Binghamton Mets game and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
- In dark matches at the August 7th edition of Raw from Memphis, TN, Charlie Haas teamed with Rob Conway and lost to The Gang Stars, and Jim Duggan teamed up with Eugene to defeat Charles Evans & Derrick King.
- At the August 12th WWE Raw brand house show in Johnstown, PA Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels teamed up to defeat The Spirit Squad. In Charleston, WV on August 13th, Flair & Michaels again defeated The Spirit Squad. That marked the 3rd time in two weeks they have defeated the WWE World Tag Team Champions.
- On the August 13th edition of WWE Heat (aired on the WWE website), Jim Duggan teamed with Eugene to defeat Charles Evans & Derek Taylor after a Double Shoulder Block.
- Ric Flair will be the featured attraction when Deep South Wrestling returns to Six Flags over Georgia with a Saturday night show on September 9
- Jim Ross is offering a free autographed pictured postcard to the first 1000 people that sign up for the newsletter on his new BBQ sauce website. To sign up, click the link: www.jrsbarbq.com.
- Blabbermouth (located at www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net, an excellent source for hard rock/heavy metal news) has an article about an upcoming horror movie called "Sin-Jyn Smyth" which will star Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, porn queen Jenna Jameson (in what they are billing as her first "straight" role) and WWE Hall Of Famer Roddy Piper. Former WWE Women's Champion Jacqueline Moore will also be in the film.
- Speaking of Piper, WWE announced that a Roddy Piper DVD will be released in November 2006.
- At the Ohio Valley Wrestling TV tapings on August 9th, Brent Albright tagged with Shawn Osborne to defeated Shad Gaspard & The Neighborhoodie. Also in a dark match on the card, Cody Runnels, son of Dusty Rhodes, tagged with Shawn Spears & Jack Bull to defeat Vic DeVine, John Bolen, & Rod Steele. Runnels also defeated Mike Kruel in a singles match during the actual tapings.
- At the August 11th season finale of Ohio Valley Wrestling held at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Randy Orton defeated Brent Albright. Also on the card Dusty Rhodes teamed with his son Cody Runnels to defeat Idol Stevens & K.C. James
- At the August 13th Ohio Valley Wrestling house show in St. Therese, KY Brent Albright tagged with Seth Skyfire to defeat The Untouchables
- On August 10th, TNA and the United Wrestling Federation ran a show in Charleston, SC. On the show The Naturals defeated Chris Sabin & Jay Lethal. Also, Christopher Daniels & A.J. Styles defeated Petey Williams & Samoa Joe to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles. The next night in Columbia, SC The Naturals defeated The Diamond In The Rough and The James Gang in a Three Way Tag Team Match and A.J. Styles & Christopher Daniels retained the NWA World Tag Team Titles by defeating Chris Sabin & Jay Lethal. On August 12th, TNA ran a house show in Anderson, SC and Styles & Daniels defeated The Naturals to retain the titles.
- At the TNA Hard Justice pay-per-view on August 13th, A.J. Styles & Christopher Daniels defeated LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles. It has been reported that the Styles & Daniels vs. LAX feud is scheduled to continue after Hard Justice. Also on the card, Jeff Jarrett retained the NWA World Title by defeating Sting after Christian Cage turned on Sting and assisted Jarrett.
- A number of TNA stars will be in action at PWX's debut show on 9/13 at the former ECW arena. Some of the matches scheduled include Homicide vs. A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels vs. Jay Lethal, and Rhino vs. Abyss. For more information go to www.PWXplosion.com or contact PWXpress@gmail.com.
- Sting will host an episode of "Praise The Lord" on the Trinity Broadcasting Network in late-September with his special guest being Lex Luger. The two-hour show airs daily during the week and Sting has been a guest on the show in the past. "You will get to see and hear the real Lex Luger. It will be real-life drama, not wrestling," Sting said. "Please tune it to get the truth about Lex Luger."
- Nu-Wrestling Evolution based in Italy recently started an eight date road trip through the country featuring such stars as Kishi, Vampiro, Joe E. Legend, Ultimo Dragon, Heidenreich, and many more.
- "Dr. Death" Steve Williams will tag with The Patriot top face AWA World Tag Team Champions Steve Corino & Ricky Landell at AWA Superclash this Saturday in Amite, LA. Kamala along with Kim Chee is also scheduled for the card.
- In the August 7th edition of the Wall Street Journal, page B1, left hand side, there was an article on the history of performance enhancing drugs in sports. The story's lead in was a recapping of Ken Patera weightlifting in the 70s, complete with a quote he provided a reporter at the time.
- Total Texas Wrestling has several Oklahoma stars on their roster. In Graham, TX on August 12th, Tommy Smash (w/ Jessi Jersey) defeated Kyzer Douglas; Kenny Campbell & Jack Dalton teamed up for the very first time but lost to Maxx Muscles & Bo Jobs; Cade Sydal won a Triple Threat Match against Mitch Carter & James Johnson to be named the new #1 contender to the Texas X Division Title, held by Matt Garza; Garza retained the TX Title by defeating Mercenary via DQ. The New Age Cowboys retained the TTW Tag Team Titles by defeating IZW Tag Team Champions The Re-Gex. Ryan Davidson defeated Rexx Reed. In the main event John O'Malley won the TTW Title when he defeated Brandon Bishop in a Loser-Leaves-TTW Match.
