Oklahoma Scoop

- WWE recently announced 2 TV tapings in Oklahoma on back-to-back nights. Oklahoma City's Ford Center will be host to Raw on September 25th and the Tulsa Convention Center will be host for the Smackdown taping and live ECW show on September 26th.
- Ted DiBiase is working full-time as a WWE agent after being removed from the writing staff.
- "Dr. Death" Steve Williams is working part-time as a trainer for WWE. He is alternating between Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling.
- A video has been added to WWE.com where Mick Foley explains why he refuses to wrestle Ric Flair at SummerSlam. You can view it at http://www.wwe.com/
- Apparently the "Orton Knows Best" Raw segment that aired on August 3rd was the brain child of Michael Hayes.
- At the August 2nd Ohio Valley Wrestling TV tapings, Brent Albright defeated T.J. Dalton, Vic DeVine, John Bolen, Bad Seed Osborn, Shawn Spears, Boris Alexiev, Chet the Jet, Mike Kruel, Eddie Craven III, and Charles Evans in a Gauntlet Match for the right to wrestle Randy Orton at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom on August 11th. Also at the tapings, it was announced that Dusty Rhodes would be teaming with his son Dustin to face K.C. James & Aron Stevens at the August 11th show as well.
- At the August 5th WWE house show in Melbourne, Australia Gene Snitsky defeated Charlie Haas following a Big Boot. Umaga then came out and gave the Samoan Spike to both Snitsky & Haas. Also on the card, Shawn Michael & Ric Flair defeated all 5 members of The Spirit Squad.
- WWEShop has the 2nd edition of the WWE DVD Board Game available. This edition is updated to feature recent storylines and superstars and is hosted by Jerry "The King" Lawler. If you haven't gotten the first version yet, do so now as they will probably be phased out.
- WWE has signed Cody Runnels, the son of the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, to a developmental deal. Runnels is training with Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville. OVW is expected to make an announcement about Runnels this week on television.
- On August 26th, The New Jersey Jackals minor league baseball team in Montclair, NJ are having WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter for an appearance for the day. He will be throwing the first pitch out at the game that night as well as will be signing autographs. As of right now, the autograph session will be free. For more information about the event you can contact Max Grabbe max@jackals.com.
- On www.p2plive.net, there is an interview done with WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas. It is well worth the listen as he just keeps going and doesn't give the co-hosts a chance to ask to many questions. But the questions they did get to ask were good.
- The WWE MSG Classics that are scheduled to air on August 9th on the MSG Network includes several matches.
The 8pm EST (7pm CST) are from January 23, 1984 and include:
Andre the Giant, Rocky Johnson, & Tony Atlas vs. The Wild Samoans
Sgt. Slaughter vs. Ivan Putski
The 9pm EST (8pm CST) are from January 31, 1992 and include:

- TNA's 2 packs Series 2 by Toybiz are now in stock at RingsideCollectibles.com.
The set features Samoa Joe's first ever action as he comes packed with A.J. Styles. Also included in the set are Jeff Jarrett & Monty Brown and Jeff Hardy & Abyss. Each 2 pack comes with a CD-Rom that features match highlights, photo galleries, entrance
videos and more.
- On August 8th , TNA 's "Lockdown" Pay-Per-View from April 2006 will be released on DVD in stores across the United States and Canada. The epic event featured each match inside the Six Sides of Steel, with Christian Cage vs. Abyss, Sting's Team vs. Jeff Jarrett's Team, Samoa Joe vs. Sabu and more.
- TNA announced that they will release "Best of the X Division Volume 2" on October 31st. The DVD will include a look back at the nearly year long war between Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, & Christopher Daniels for the X Division Champion, including exclusive commentary from each and match highlights from their epic battles. Othr matches include The Xscape Match from Lockdown that pitted Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Puma vs. Chase Stevens vs. Shark Boy vs. Elix Skipper.
-Speaking of Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles, they faced one another on August 4th in Lake Grove, NY for Ring of Honor with Joe coming out the victor.
- Jim Cornette and Dennis Condrey of the Midnight Express will reunite on 9/22 in Birmingham, AL, as Condrey squares off with Jerry Lawler in the main event for Wrestle Birmingham.
- AAA has plans for a TNA vs. AAA show at El Toreo in Naucalpan. They have talked about a Traci Brooks and Christy Hemme vs. Tiffany and Estrellita match, plus bookings for Ron Killings, Abyss, A.J. Styles, Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe. Antonio Pena is also trying to get Scott Steiner, who turned down the promotion last time they contacted him.
- According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ene Watts is asking a cool $5 million for the Mid South tape library. The asking price appears to have halted talks between the ex-wife of "Cowboy" Bill Watts and World Wrestling Entertainment. Dave Meltzer reports that WWE pays between $400 and $500 per hour in purchases of video libraries. Meltzer also reports that an investor outside of the wrestling business inquired about buying the Mid South tape collection, but wasn't impressed with the asking price.
- Bam Bam Bigelow was arrested on 7/31 in Brooksville, FL. He was appearing in the Hernando County court to contest a citation he received as a result of a motorcycle accident he was in last fall where he lost control of his bike and crashed, injuring himself and his girlfriend. In that case, he is being charged with a number of infractions including three different charges involving DUI since his blood alcohol at the time of the wreck was over .20. One of the charges is a third degree felony. The warrants were issued last year but the police had not been able to find Bigelow until yesterday. When he appeared in court, he was arrested and was being held on $5,000 bail as of last night.
- NWA Mid-South has a show scheduled for August 17th in West Memphis, AR. Scheduled for the card will be Jerry Lawler taking on Kamala, and Bill Dundee facing Derrick King, among others. Vian, OK native Frank Thornton is also scheduled for the card facing Matt Riviera in a Grudge Match.

- During the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame induction cermony in Newton, IA on 7/14, Bret Hart said being inducted meant more in some ways than being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Larry "The Axe" Hennig had more than 40 family members present, including Joe Hennig, the son of the late Curt Hennig, who also spoke. Terry Funk was present to represent his father, Dory Funk Sr., and Ted DiBiase came on behalf of his adopted father, Mike DiBiase. Next year, Curt Hennig and Stu Hart will be inducted.
- Despite what he has been telling people Jake Roberts is not coming to TNA. As previously reported, Roberts did not sign a TNA contract.
- At the August 5th Professional Championship Wrestling shopw in Arlington, TX former UWF wrestler Perry Jackson, now going by Action Jackson, teamed with Chris Chronic to defeat Tim Storm & Gabe Roach as part of week three of the Fight-Win-Survive competition.
