-Former SRPW star Adam Thornstowe wrestled against TNA's Chris Sabin at the inaugural Ground Zero Wrestling event entitled "Ignition" in Lodi, CA on July 29th, and won the match after delivering a low blow to Sabin while the referee wasn't looking. The crowd was decidedly pro-Thornstowe which seem to upset Sabin. It was annouced later that Thornstowe will face TNA star Samoa Joe at the next GZW event on September 1st entitled "Heatstroke" in Modesto, CA. Thornstowe also continues his Best of 5 Series with J.D. Bishop for the Supreme Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title on August 13th in El Cajon, CA.
-Bobby Fulton recently defeated Ricky Morton in an Old School Grudge Match for Mad-Pro Wrestling on July 22nd. Fulton was originally scheduled to face Bobby Eaton, but was replaced with Morton.
- The United Wrestling Federation, owned by former WWE referee Earl Hebner, will be running TNA branded house shows in South Carolina in August. On 8/10, they will be running North Charleston, SC, 8/11 in Columbia, SC and 8/12 in Anderson, SC. NWA Tag Team champions Christopher Daniels & A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, The James Gang, Americas Most Wanted, Petey Williams, Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin, Rhino, and Ron Killings are slated for all three dates. - A.J. Styles is also scheduled for the September 10th Maryland Championship Wrestling "Tribute to the Legends" event in Dundalk, MD.
- Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jerry Porter showed up to the first day of training came wearing a replica of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Belt.
- Believe it or not, it was Ric Flair's idea to use thumb tacks in his televised ECW title match against The Big Show. Flair felt that being dumped on them would sell a Summerslam match against Mick Foley, which is likely to be a hardcore match.
- The feeling in WWE is that the July 11th Big Show vs. Flair rating on Sci Fi was enough to guarantee a renewal of the ECW show. The original deal was a trial run of twelve shows.
- There is talk of inducting the entire family of The Von Erichs into the WWE Hall of Fame.
- When Brent Albright (Gunner Scott) was sent back to Ohio Valley Wrestling from the Smackdown roster, he was told he'd be recalled in "a couple months."
- Dave Meltzer is reporting that Brian Lee and Sean Waltman attended the last set of Impact tapings in Orlando. Lee was apparently looking for work.
- Jake Roberts is not signed to TNA. He was telling wrestlers that at a recent Impact taping, but no contract was signed.
- Mick Foley signed autographs on July 30th at the Camden River Sharks minot baseball game in Camden, NJ
- At a recent WWE house show in Hyannis, MA on July 28th, Umaga (w/ Armando Alejandro Estrada) def. Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
- Bill Goldberg hinted to a possible Hard Justice PPV appearance on 8/13 in an interview with columnist Alex Marvez. Dave Meltzer reports that Goldberg hasn't signed a TNA deal (he is looking for a "Sting" like deal), but has agreed to a holding deal with Spike TV, which is looking to place him in a television series. Goldberg is currently working on the movie "Justified," where he has the lead role.
- "Dr. Death" Steve Williams has been helping train students in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
