WWE currently has a story up on their website saluting graduates and shows some of their superstars and the degree they earned in college. Among those listed are John Cena (Springfield College), Beth Phoenix (Canisius College), Michelle McCool (Florida State University), Shelton Benjamin (University of Minnesota), Jack Swagger (University of Oklahoma), Eve Torres (University of Southern California), Ted DiBiase Jr. (Mississippi College), Charlie Haas (Seton Hall), and Lillian Garcia (University of South Carolina). You can view all the stories by clicking here.
Although Jim Ross announced in a recent blog that Tulsa's BOK Center is going to host a Smackdown & ECW television taping on September 22nd, the event does not appear on the BOK Center website.
"Monday Night Raw" on September 21st will not be held at the Cox Center in Oklahoma City as previously reported. The venue announced the event, then learned that plans had changed.
WWE will release "The Best of Smackdown 1999-2009" on DVD on September 15th. The 3-disc set will countdown the top 100 greatest moments in the show's history. Among the moments featured are:
#86 The Return of Piper's Pit (April 10, 2003)
#77 The Rock 'N' Sock Connection (The Rock & Mick Foley)
#71 Al Snow & Steve Blackman
#45 Where is Foley?
#35 The Rock 'N' Sock Connection vs. The New Age Outlaws (Jesse James & Billy Gunn) (October 14, 1999)
Jerry Lawler gave the Cleveland Indians an expensive replica WWE title belt before Tuesday's game. The belt goes to the Indians' player of the game after each win, and at the end of the season, the player who has won it the most will get to keep the belt.
During the week, Ric Flair's name was being considered as the replacement for Vickie Guerrero as the Raw general manager. Flair did turn down the role of Smackdown general manager back in April.
Ric Flair, Shannon Moore, Carlos Colon were among those visiting backstage at last Monday's Raw. Flair told some people that the current plan is to keep him off TV for a while longer to sell the Randy Orton punt from three weeks ago. Flair's son David and Ricky Steamboat Jr. were seated ringside during the show.
Ric Flair was a guest on The King Jordan Hotline. Ric talked about his current status with WWE, Reid Flair, and he answered the question, if he would ever go to TNA. The entire interview can be heard on the "Pro Wrestling Connection Hotline" at (212) 560-2255.
Ric Flair didn't end up being the outside the ring referee on June 12th at the Ring of Honor show in New York, where Austin Aries won the title in a three-way elimination match over Jerry Lynn and Tyler Black. There were plans for a spot where Flair would put Aries in the figure four. We're told that ROH was relieved there was no negative reaction to the crowd or match when Flair wasn't there, with Nigel McGuinness put in his place. The dispute was that HDNet was filming the title change and Flair is not allowed to appear, even in the background, on HDNet. During the week Flair and ROH had an issue as Flair was originally to be in-ring ref, and he had it changed to be an outside the ring ref. He left after doing his promo. He was there for the Mitsuharu Misawa tribute and did an interview for the crowd, which was well received, and then left the arena. Unlike has been reported, people knew he was leaving ahead of time, not that they were thrilled about how it went down, but he didn't walk out of the show. McGuinness did the one or two spots scheduled for Flair to do in the match, which included the figure four spot. Flair is still scheduled for three more ROH appearances, June 26th in Detroit, June 27th in Chicago, and July 25th in Toronto, and as best anyone can tell, he will still be on those shows doing autographs and interviews. ROH still wants him on the shows to deliver on what is advertised, and Flair has already been paid in advance for the dates.
The Cauliflower Alley Club has been informed that Jerry Brisco has not had a stroke. However, he does have an artery blockage and a heart issue.
There is no movement on the suit filed by Jody Hamilton (Deep South Wrestling) against the WWE back in March over DSW being dropped as a WWE developmental territory. DSW is seeking $320,000 in damages and $56,000 in personal injury for Hamilton for emotional distress.

With TNA's seventh year anniversary coming up the company is offering the "History of TNA Year 1" free in its entirety at their new video-on-demand website at TNAVideoVault.com. WorldWrestlingInsanity.com has given Paul Roma his own segment entitled "Glorious!". In the debut segment, Roma ripped on TNA's "piss poor wrestling", "horrible writing", and their "stupid ring" among other things. He then had some choice words about TNA World Champion Mick Foley: "Mick Foley can't wrestle ? plain and simple. Most wrestlers would agree. Probably even him. So if he's not launching himself off a roof, gouging his head, breaking bones, or spitting blood, it's boring. He can't do anything. What is it he can do?...They expect to see this idiot jeopardize his life, otherwise they don't care because that's what they're used to.." When asked if it is tough to follow Mick (or someone like him) on a show, Roma says it's actually a blessing. Fans want to see something interesting rather than a clown. He compares real wrestling to a magician. A magician makes you think. A clown trips over his own feet. "It is what it is. It's a clown. And that's what Mick Foley is. He's a clown." When asked about Ric Flair, Roma said "Flair's running around doing these autograph sessions because he's broke. All those years you busted your butt, you travelled, and you have nothing to show for it. You owe the government what? A million dollars in taxes? Dude, you might as well kill yourself. That's the only way you'll ever beat the government. You'll never ever pay them back, unless you hit a Powerball. Even then. Oh. Here's your million dollars." To listen to the entire segment, click here.
