Missy's Manor: Indy Gossipers, Indy Sleaze, Indy Drama
Posted: Oct 16th 2008 By: CMBurnham
This past weekend I did a triple shot between NWS, Legends Of The Ring, and WSU. I had a blast as usual. I dealt with indy gossipers, indy sleaze, indy drama, and some great wrestling. I had a great time announcing with Ref Hanson [my stooge] & Monster Mack [Hanson's stooge] for two shows. We are already developing in to a great announcing team. I can be easily stolen away from WSU in exchange for a Missy Legends figure, a gift card to Express, and more $$$.
Ref Hansen's demands are a Heroes Of World Class DVD, a six pack of Zima, and a Hustler magazine. Monster Mack's demands are a six pack of Slim Fast and some fat fetish magazine. We will gladly no show WSU if anybody can meet our demands. We are the Freebirds of announcing! Hanson is our Buddy Roberts! No, we didn't piss on him or shave his head as a Freebird initiation.
I sat in traffic for 2 hours to make a 27 mile trip to Bergenfield, N.J. for NWS/WSU. I got to the building to do announcing with Ref Hansen & Monster Mack. NWS runs a family promotion that is equipped with gimmicks that I find amusing. That's right, Missy enjoys Nico The Flying Monkey. I would prefer him as a heel.
I saw Miss April wrestle a bunch of matches in a span of two days. April was trained by Jay Lethal [Black Machismo rulez!] and is a rookie. When I saw her wrestle against Jana, I thought that April had wrestled for years. The girl is amazing. She got timing, psychology, and is a great babyface. Miss April will be making some promotion $$$$ in the immediate future. Jana and her had a decent match to start the weekend off. Jana is a very underrated worker in my opinion. Jana got the pin.
Missy Manor:
I then hosted a Missy Manor. I was told by the co promoters to confront one of their business partners on the many rumors that he likes to spread. Apparently this promoter likes to claim he has hooked up with several women wrestlers and valets. He even told some wrestlers that he once beat Terry Funk in Japan. I decided to give this person a forum to defend himself on a must see Missy Manor.
I introduced the guy as a former NWA T.V. champion and legend [among his many claims]. I said "I Dated Fat Guys, Ugly Guys, And Bald Guys. But Not All Of Those Traits In One Person". The promoter refused to enter Missy's Manor. This promoter denied his lies, despite it being told to many wrestlers over the years. He refused to come to the ring and kept saying he was set up. Talk to your business partners. Apparently the WSU promoter said I sold the locker room out. That's a honor usually reserved for the World Champion or a great match. I'm glad that a Missy Manor can now be classified as a Locker Room Sellout. Here is the link to the promoters myspace. I still say its the greatest myspace page ever!
Little Jeannie [War Hero] made her wrestling return to beat Roxxie Cotton. Little Jeannie can definitely help the younger wrestlers learn to work. She is a great heel and a great ring general. Too bad she couldn't teach me how to work. I admit I'm a wrestling school dropout! Roxxie Cotton, Annie Social, & Rick Cataldo are developing in to my favorite heel trio.
Rick Cataldo cut a promo on Tammy Sytch that made indy drama over the weekend. I'm not taking sides, but I think the whole situation could have been resolved in a much better way. Apparently Cataldo made a comment in his promo that Tammy took personally. Unfortunately the biz has evolved to the point that work-shoot promos have crossed the line on what many of us considered off limit material. Apparently Cataldo brought up a topic that Tammy took personally.
I felt Tammy could have guzzled Cataldo on the mic [she is still great on the mic] to make a comeback and than handle the situation privately. Unfortunately this problem couldn't be rectified on Friday night. Cataldo was apologetic about the matter. Hopefully both parties can settle this matter and work together. They are both great talents that can play off of each other so well.
Melissa Coates & Trixxie Lynn beat Annie Social & Rick Cataldo
Reyna Fire beat Roxxie Cotton by DQ: This match was a set up for Angel Orisini to lay out Reyna to build heat for her program with Mercedes Martinez. This Angel/Mercedes program is AWESOME!
Angel Orisini went to a curfew 20 minute draw [I thought curfew draws were reserved as 1970's MSG finishes?] with Mercedes Martinez. Both wrestlers can work a stiff-technical match that makes sense. Their matches tell a great story and they don't go overboard in burning the crowd out in building towards a finish. The 20 minute draw keeps everybody to clamour for a rematch and to allows this program to continue. I give this match a thumbs up for keeping the fans entertained and by having them wanting to see a rematch.
NWS will be back on 11/1 with the GREATEST line up that I have ever seen. I feel they are using the "Missy Hyatt Guest Booker" formula of building the greatest wrestling card ever! I would have definitely have purchased a ticket, instead I will be booked for another promotion on the same day. Missy Booking Logic Rules #95-99 state that Mummies, Clowns, Monkies, Zombies, & Giants = Greatest Show Ever!
NWS Press Release:
"7 foot-5 Giant Silva, and his partner, the 400-pound lovable Goal-Duh, accompanied as always by his friend Cartman. They will join a cast of Halloween characters that includes former WCW & WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot, the one-time ECW star The Zombie, The Mummy, Nikko The Monkey Man, and a TV Wrestling Clown."
I did a wrestling convention for Legends Of The ring. After the convention I went on a shopping spree between the wrestling show. I got to WSU as the first match was entering the ring. Bill Watts would have fined my ass big time in this situation! Luckily the promoter was too drunk to realize my lateness.
The building that WSU uses in Boonton, NJ is a old thearter. The thearter looks old and sleazy. It looks like one of those thearters that Pee Wee Herman probably visited with Ref Hanson back in the day. The wrestling ring is on a stage that is above the entrance ramp to the thearter. Its a interesting atmosphere for wrestling.
I came in to the building as Amy Lee was entering the ring. We crossed paths in the aisle way. Unfortunately the big biker chick grabbed my butt. I now know to never to share a prison cell with Amy Lee, since she would probably make me her bitch! I ran in to the promoter to get my info. The promoter already had a McGuninnes in his hand [not Nigel!].
WSU Womens Tag Team Tournament:
1st. Round
Amy Lee & Missy Sampson beat Little Jeannie & Lea Morrison:
Amy Lee started the match by "firing" Rick Cataldo on the mic. Amy Lee unleased the "Vaginal Claw" on to her opponents. Than she wiped her hand on some lucky fan's face.
Malia Hosaka & Miss April beat Jana & Latasha:
April was amazing in this match. All four wrestlers gelled very well together. The crowd was already getting behind April big time. Everybody in the building realized that they were watching a superstar in the making in April. Great match. Malia is great as a ring general in keeping this match together. Latasha & Jana are great baby faces.
Roxxie Cotton & Annie Social beat Melissa Coates & Trixxie Liynn
Annie's new ring attire will be getting her a ton of bookings. Cotton has improved big time as a worker. Coates & Lynn are getting over with the WSU crowd.
Angel Orsini & a mystery opponent beat Bobcat & Gorgeous George:
Orisini announced that her main rival Mercedes would be her mystery partner. Mercedes was about to get the winning pin, but Little Jeannie stole the pin. Apparently Jeannie was the real mystery partner all along. The booking was TNA'riffic. I wasn't a fan of this finish.
Missy's Manor:
I tried to introduce Molly Holly as my surprise guest. But some fan ruined my surprise. Ughhh! Molly put over the promotion, wrestlers, and Cindy Rogers. Rogers came out and is still recovering from a broken collar bone and a blood clot. This built towards a future match.
Please KILLL the annoying fan with the air horn. Its annoying to the wrestlers and fans. Hopefully Amy Lee or Awesome Kong will settle this matter for everybody. Amy Lee should get her own biker-bounty hunting reality show called "The Daughters Of Anarchy". They can abuse Ref Hanson & Rick Cataldo and make them her "Prospects". I only put over Amy Lee out of fear.
2nd. Round:
Annie Social & Roxxie Cotton beat Malia Hosaka & Miss April:
This match ruled. April was so over that the crowd was dissapointed that she got pinned and eliminated. Everybody in the crowd knew that there was something special in April. A worker like that doen't come along very often. Cotton has improved big time as a character over the last year. Annie Social is a very underated worker. Malia did a great job in keeping this match together.
Missy Sampson & Amy Lee beat Angel Orisini & Little Jeannie:
This match was a brawl all over the thearter. They brawled in the stairs, chairs, stage, and Amy Lee even tossed Angel on to a lucky fan. Than Amy Lee wrapped Angel's legs around the fans neck to give the fan a bronco buster. Talk about fan interactive! Faces won & than we went to intermission. The crowd was rocking. Great first half of the show.
The second show was great for all of the wrong reasons. One wrestler, who will remain nameless was "THE DRIZZLING SHITZ" in the ring. All of her spots looked mistimed, delayed, and blown. I couldn't believe that this worker was in the biz for so many years. Please buy the DVD to see what match I will be voting as my worst match of the year candidate. I couldn't even contain my disgust for the ring work of one particular worker in my commentary. Jim Ross would say it was beyond "Bowling Shoe Ugly". Hopefully this wrestler can redeem herself on the next show, but it was "EL GIGANTE BAD". The crowd even started chanting "Match Of The Year" out of disgust.
Miss Aprll Promo: April is disapointed on her loss earlier in the show. She feels a student/teacher match is what she needs by wrestling Malia Hosaka. April needs work on her promos. I hope April seeks me out at the next show. I'm always available to help out on promos to any wrestler.
Malia Hosaka beat Miss April:
Great match. Hosaka is a great asset to the locker room. Any young wrestler can benefit by having a long match with a veteran who knows what they are doing in the ring. She gave April a great match. They did counter holds, mat wrestling, and built towards a hot finish. This was the match of the weekend. The crowd applauded both wrestlers in appreciation. I can't wait to see a rematch.
Battle Royal:
God aweful! Why were eliminations done from the second rope? One worker looked confused throughout the whole match and during her other match. This was editing floor material. I should have ran in with a loaded gucci purse to end this match.
Tag Team Title Tournament Finals:
Roxxie Cotton & Annie Social beat Amy Lee & Missy Sampson:
I didn't see this upset coming. I was surprised in a good way with the finish, since Social & Cotton have lost every match before this show.
Angel Orisini beat Bobcat:
Angel should be hired by TNA. She can work her ass off and carry any opponent. Angel is a great promo and knows how to keep a match together. Angel usually can have the best match of the night. Mercedes did a run in after the match and used a brainbuster on Orisini through the table. This ended the show with the crowd buzzing and dying to see the big blow off match in January in a steel cage match.
I'm dying to see the big cage match. They spent the last six months building towards the climatic cage match off on 1/10/09. They also got Awesome Kong booked for the show.
Angel cracked the front of the WSU Title belt. I hope the belt can be repaired. It might have to be taped up. This will make the WSU belt look like the old WWE Hardcore Title.
After the show, Amy Lee & Missy Sampson were telling me all of the lies that a promoter has said over the years. They even offered me the promoter's home made sex tape to laugh at. I declined the offer. I think Amy Lee & Missy Sampson should just burn their copies. Than the WSU promoter offered me his copy to review. Ughh!
I'll be making my return to Dory & Marti Funk's BANG promotion on 10/26 in Ocala, Florida. Dory, Marti, & Claudia The Claw are great people. I always have a blast working for them. Dory still knows how to train wrestlers the correct way in ring work and psychology. I even try to watch some of the matches, since the matches are solid and make sense.
