Missy's Manor: News On "Wrestler's Rescue" Fundraiser

Howard Stern had Jesse Ventura on his 7/29 show. Jesse Ventura might have controversial views on political topics, but he has wisdom when it comes to the topic of unionization, benefits, and retirement for wrestlers. Howard Stern was shocked by Ventura when he discussed how many wrestlers don't have a plan after wrestling, health benefits, and a pension plan.
I'm not going to bore everybody on how wrestlers are contracted employees, but they are still listed as independent contractors. I'm not going to bore everybody on how the big companies don't have health insurance for the wrestlers. I'm definitely not going to bore everybody on how the companies don't have the opportunity for the wrestlers to contribute to a 401K Pension plan. Unfortunately there is a price for the glory that many wrestlers sacrificed their bodies and futures for.
Almost every wrestler got in to this business, since they were a fan at some point in their lives. Those who have that foundation will always cherish the long drives, bad bumps, loneliness of the road, and life sacrifices for the rush of entertaining wrestling fans.
I'm not bitter about ever being in the biz. I might had some bad cards dealt to me in wrestling, but the good times will always out weigh whatever bad dealings I ever had. I'm very lucky that I still love the biz and the fans.
Please put the date of September 14, 2008 on your wrestling calendar for a 'Wrestler's Rescue' fundraiser at the Radisson Hotel, Piscataway, N.J. This event is being put together to create a career path for retired and active wrestlers. This will provide wrestlers with information in obtaining education, pensions, and financial planning. Trust me, this information is vital for almost every active and retired wrestler.
I encourage wrestling fans to attend this event as well. You can't go wrong in meeting wrestling legends like Mick Foley, Superstar Billy Graham, Terri Runnels, Dawn Marie, Balls Mahoney, Iron Sheik, Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, Jimmy Snuka, Danny Doring, Nikolai Volkoff, Captain Lou, Johnny Rodz, myself, and others for autographs and pictures in order to raise money for this great fund raising event. There will also be a banquet dinner with the wrestlers for this event.
Stop by at http://wrestlersrescue.org/ for more information about this great event.
