NEWS
Killer Kross spoke out about WWE’s latest round of releases, saying he especially feels for talent who were cut while “not being utilized.” He explained that many casual fans don’t understand how little control performers actually have, saying “your hands are not really on the wheel in the way you'd think.” Kross said a wrestler’s reputation is often shaped more by creative presentation than talent, noting that “the perception of equity is based on how you're presented, it's not about what you can actually do.” He added that without “the very specific opportunities to maestro the audience,” fans can wrongly assume certain wrestlers “don’t have it.” He strongly defended the talent level inside WWE, emphasizing that “Everyone who's in WWE is really, really good” and that “there are no people in the company that shouldn't be there.” Kross also pointed out that fans rarely see the difficult journey performers endure before making it to WWE, saying they’ve all “survived a plethora of stuff that nobody saw before the cameras turned on.” Kross closed by saying many released stars unfairly carry a negative perception after leaving the company, even though “it’s really actually not their fault.” He criticized unrealistic fan expectations, saying people think wrestlers should have “a WrestleMania level match” in only “seven minutes with a commercial break in the middle,” but stressed that “it doesn't work that way.”

In a post on social media, Dan Spivey thanked Michael Hayes and WWE for the warm welcome he received at “Backlash” in Tampa, FL this past weekend. Spivey said that his wife talked him into going to the show
and he got a hold of Hayes to see if they could go. “I thought that Michael would be able to get us in, but I wasn’t expecting the kind of treatment that I got there,” Spivey said. “I expected just to get a seat and enjoy the
matches. Well, when we got there, they took us to the back and gave us passes to go anywhere we wanted to go. The reception that I got was just overwhelming.” He said that he got the royal treatment and could walk in
anywhere he wanted to and talk to everyone in the back, something that he wasn’t expecting. And to top it off, they were seated at ringside and also acknowledged on television during the show. “I just want to tell Michael Hayes, thank you for doing what he did. I want to thank all of the boys who I saw last night, people I’ve never met before, for giving me the respect, that goes a long way with me,” Spivey continued. “I just want to thank everybody, they made it an awesome night for me and my wife. Thank you, Michael Hayes, thank you, WWE.” Spivey worked in WWF and WCW, using his name in WCW and his original run in WWF. He then adopted the gimmick of Waylon Mercy for his second run with WWF in 1995.

Dutch Mantell has opened up on being invited to “WWE Backlash” in Tampa, FL by “someone higher up” in the company, and meeting up with Triple H backstage. He said "I went to the WWE pay-per-view ‘Backlash’ here in Tampa. I was invited down by someone higher up in the company, which surprised me that they had my number. But I was invited and I went down there and I saw everybody I've known before because I've been gone for a pretty good while, so you'd suspect a lot of guys wouldn't know me, and the new guys might have known me but I don't know them. Everybody was very, very friendly. Everybody. ‘Backlash’ had a great crowd, I don't know if it sold out but it looked pretty full to me, and a good show. I enjoyed my time revisiting with the guys I'd known before in WWE. Bobby Roode, he came up, and most of the referee crew came up to me and said hello. Nick Aldis, I've known him a long time, I was in India with him. Meeting people you haven't seen in a long time, the introduction now is totally different than what it used to be. It used to be just a handshake, but now it was a big embrace, a big hug. I met Triple H, and Triple H he was so busy and he knew I was gonna be there, so he called at least three times for me to come back and meet him but I didn't get it, so on the fourth time they said 'he's asked for you four times'. So I went up to the back, and when he came out he gave me a big hug and asked how I was doing, I talked to him for about 20 minutes. Very nice meeting, and I've always liked him, I almost knew him from the time he broke in. He's always been very good to me and very friendly.”

Tito Santana said he once walked up to Vince McMahon and asked directly if he should be taking steroids like the rest of the WWE locker room. Vince’s answer was blunt. “Should I take steroids? He says, ‘Tito, I’m the one that decides what I’m doing with you guys.’ He said, ‘You don’t, if they want to take the steroids, let them. You don’t have to take steroids. You got your position in my company,’” Santana said on the “In The Front Row” podcast. Santana said he was the WWF Intercontinental Champion at the time, was watching the size of everyone around him on the WWF roster, and decided to ask Vince McMahon directly. Santana never took steroids.

Recent additions to the WWE Vault include Jake Roberts & The Berzerker vs. Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage from a January 1992 dark match

In response to Penta vs. Ethan Page being announced for “Saturday Night’s Main Event”, Rey Fenix tweeted that he also wants a shot at Penta’s Intercontinental Title: “I love my brother, but i will like to have my chance.”

Ethan Page was the guest on “Complex’s Graps” podcast this week. You can watch the podcast by clicking here.

PWInsider reports that Dixie Carter turned down “several invitations” to be interviewed for the upcoming “Dark Side of the Ring” episode focused on TNA and Jeff Jarrett.

A Sting cosplayer known online as “Doppelstinger” has clarified that he has never claimed to actually be Sting following criticism from some fans online. Joe Wright stated that his videos are intended as a tribute and form of cosplay rather than an attempt to impersonate the wrestling legend, adding that he has “too much respect” for Sting to mislead people. Wright, who also offers personalized Cameo videos in Sting-inspired face paint and gear, said he hoped the statement would clear up confusion surrounding his content. His work has reportedly received support from both Sting himself and Darby Allin.

Sting’s son, Garrett Borden, is set to make his in-ring debut on May 17th at Rhodes Wrestling Academy’s “Final Reckoning”. Dustin Rhodes announced that Garrett will face Brandon Barretta in his first professional match. Garrett previously appeared as Surfer Sting during Sting’s retirement match at “AEW Revolution 2024”. Garrett’s brother has already started wrestling on the independent scene and in AEW dark matches under the name Steven Borden.

On his “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross said he plans on being in New York for “AEW Double or Nothing” on May 24th. He said “I tell ya, AEW’s TV shows, and I know people expect us to ballyhoo it, to put it over – it’s easy to put it over when it’s good. And their TVs lately have been very good. And what they’re doing with Darby, they’re not doing anything more important on their television than featuring Darby Allin and letting us support him and get behind him and all that stuff. So he’s very resilient, and I like his approach a lot. So we’ll see how that materializes over the next few weeks. I plan on being in New York in a couple of weeks. And I’m excited about this card. It’s loaded, man. It’s got some good sh*t on it.”

Jake Hager is set to return to professional wrestling for World Wrestling Council’s “53rd Anniversario” event on June 26th in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The appearance will mark Hager’s first wrestling match since late 2024. Best known for his time in WWE as Jack Swagger, Hager later wrestled in AEW alongside Chris Jericho before leaving the company in 2024. Since his departure, Hager has publicly criticized AEW president Tony Khan and recently made his debut in Power Slap back in April.

The NFL’s New Orleans Saints have signed Bronson Rechsteiner, son of Scott Steiner, to their 90-man roster following a successful rookie mini camp, and will now compete for a spot on the Saints’ regular-season roster.. Rechsteiner, who was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Jacksonville State University, caught 54 passes for 630 yards and 7 touchdowns in his 4 seasons playing for the school. He signed an NIL deal with WWE in 2025. He said he still plans to pursue wrestling one day but for now, he wants to see how far he can go in the NFL saying “I want to play football as long as I can”.
