Ricky Saints was the 5th highest Google Search related to wrestling or MMA this past weekend.

Shawn Michaels says it can take three years for an athlete new to wrestling to be main roster ready. “It’s very challenging. That’s one of the things I can remember being asked. ‘How long do you think it takes to get one of these athletes that doesn’t know anything totally ready for the main roster?’ I said, ‘Honestly, to get them ready to what I think is adequate to be ready for a main roster guy, three years.’ And they said, ‘Really? You can’t get it done faster than that?’ I was like, ‘Well, I guess we can. But not to get them to where I think they need to be.’ I was in the hundreds of matches in probably three months. They may not get there in a year with the amount of live events we do.”

While speaking on his podcast, A. J. Styles commented on the 2026 WWE departures including Kairi Sane. Here is what Styles said about her leaving WWE. “I think everybody’s a little confused. We don’t know exactly what the case is. That one caught me off guard because it was a great tag team thing [with Asuka]. I feel like Kairi Sane is doing her best work as of now. I wish I had answers. I don’t have these answers for you guys. I don’t know what this means for her. I don’t know. I mean, is she done wrestling? Is she going to go back to Stardom? Like, what’s next for Kairi Sane? But I know that she was loved, and she was amazing. Yeah, I just hate that. The first time that she left, she went home to Japan. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it. I doubt it was her choice because I felt like she was really rolling well but I don’t know. I’m just saying that she went back to Japan last time.”

The A&E Biography episode for May 10th will be on The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal).

In a recent appearance on “The Velvet Ropes”, O. D. B. told SoCal Val that wants to appear in WWE. She jumped into the comments to publicly pitch the move and engage with fans openly campaigning for her return to a major TV stage. She commented “Wanna drive my Foodtruckright into WWE let’s do this”. O. D. B. began her career in 2001 but has never wrestled for WWE.

Variety is reporting that season 7 of Dark Side of the Ring will return on July 7 starting at 9PM ET on Vice. The new season will kick off with two back-to-back episodes and new episodes will then air weekly thereafter. “Dark Side of the Ring is one of our strongest franchises that speaks to our audience with its gritty exposition of the real emotional and physical costs behind professional wrestling,” said Vice TV president Pete Gaffney. “Wrestling is one of America’s most influential pop culture phenomenons, and this series further explores the blurred lines between wrestling’s spectacle and reality, ultimately uncovering the truths behind the stories fans thought they knew.” Season 7 will kick off with TNA Wrestling and Jeff Jarrett which will actually be a three-part episode. Episode two will focus on Paul Orndorff, episode three on Ray Traylor, otherwise known as Big Boss Man, episode four on Missy Hyatt, episode five on the Samoa Joe vs Necro Butcher indie match from 2005, episode six on Zach Gowen, and episode seven on Rick Wilson, otherwise known as The Renegade. “Each season, we try to challenge ourselves to go deeper, and season seven is our most ambitious yet,” said co-creators and executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener. “That’s especially true with our three-part exploration of TNA Wrestling, where Jeff Jarrett’s journey of redemption and resilience gives us a unique lens into the highs, struggles, and lasting impact of the foundational years of the company. It’s a perfect example of how compelling and ultimately human these stories really are.”

Ric Flair has spent decades being called one of the greatest to ever step into the ring, but he says there was a specific moment when he finally felt like he belonged at the top. During his appearance on the “Thanalysis Show”, Flair was asked when he realized he was part of something special. Instead of pointing to his first world title win, he explained that it took time, experience, and a tough learning curve before he truly felt ready. Flair broke down how his early run as champion exposed areas where he still needed to grow, especially when he was traveling and working long matches against opponents who weren’t always equipped for that style. “In ’83. ’83. When I won the title for the second time. When I won it the first time I’d only been wrestling really good wrestlers in one area.” He went deeper into what made that first run so challenging, explaining that being World Champion meant constantly adapting in the ring, often carrying matches that went far longer than many performers were used to. “And when you win the World Championship and you take off somewhere and you’re wrestling a guy that’s never wrestled an hour for an hour because back then it was either you beat the guy or you had to wrestle an hour, right? And a lot of guys can’t wrestle an hour. So you can imagine it was a nightmare and I didn’t have the skill didn’t have the skill then.” That experience ultimately became the foundation for his growth. By the time Flair captured the title for a second time, he said everything had changed — his confidence, his ability, and his understanding of what it meant to be the face of the business. “But the second time I won it from Harley Race, I was ready and I you know, I traveled more…” Looking back, Flair’s rise wasn’t instant. It was built through experience, tough lessons, and learning how to deliver at the highest level no matter who was standing across the ring.

Joey Ryan isn’t staying quiet; he’s actively defending himself after a fan said he should stay out of the business and that none of his contributions mattered. After years of controversy tied to the #SpeakingOut movement, where he was called out over a number of sexual misconduct allegations and a failed attempt at a comeback in 2025, Joey Ryan found himself in a heated exchange on X when a fan publicly called him out and told him to stay away from wrestling entirely. The fan kicked things off with a blunt and aggressive message, directly targeting Ryan’s past and questioning why he would even consider returning. "So? That doesn’t change the fact that you’re a creeper and an embarrassment to wrestling, and an overall shit stain of a human being. Also, any promotion that is unfortunate enough to hire you should go out of business." Instead of ignoring it, Ryan responded by shifting the focus to his résumé, bringing up his influence on independent wrestling and the promotions he helped build. "I started PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerrilla). I change the idea of what wrestling could be with World’s Cutest Tag Team (himself & Candice LeRae). I had an incredibly viral video that hit mainstream media. I started Bar Wrestling. I created a template to make a 6-figures as an indie wrestler. Nobody can take away my impact." That didn’t slow things down. The fan came back even harder, pointing out where others from Ryan’s past have ended up — specifically referencing Candice LeRae — and contrasting that with Ryan’s current situation. "Nobody gives a s*** that you started some company where wrestlers can go to act out their indie fantasies. You mention your tag team, let me ask you, what’s Candice LeRae doing? I’ll answer that for you, she’s in the biggest wrestling company in the world and has won a couple titles there while you’re struggling to find work in wrestling because of your tendency to be a weirdo. Maybe you should ponder your f****** actions." Ryan doubled down again, defending both his contributions to the industry and the role he believes he played in helping others succeed — especially when it comes to intergender wrestling and the indie scene. "Those companies helped launch careers of people you watch today. WCTT made Intergender wrestling marketable and my partner helped elevate women’s wrestling. I helped make indie wrestling as profitable for freelance workers as TV wrestling does. You can’t deny my contributions." The fan wasn’t convinced and shifted the argument toward the viability of intergender wrestling itself, dismissing Ryan’s claims about its success. “Intergender wrestling isn’t marketable, dude. The only people that watch that are people that like seeing the women get beat in the matches and wish to do it themselves." Ryan fired back again, this time boiling it down to one point — money: “It sure made WCTT a lot of money.” That led to another reply from the fan, who questioned just how successful those shows really were and mocked the scale of indie events. "No it didn’t. You guys were doing it in f****** high school gyms for 34 people, a stray cat in the building and you got paid with a free hotdog and a iTunes gift card. If intergender wrestling was profitable, WWE would’ve done it a lot more recently than almost 5 years ago." Ryan closed the exchange by pointing to his personal success, ending the argument with a statement about what he earned during his indie run. “I bought a house in Los Angeles on my indie money." Bottom line — this wasn’t just a random spat. It turned into a full-blown argument that pulled Ryan’s past, his legacy, and his place in wrestling right back into the limelight. And based on how this played out, he’s clearly not backing away from defending himself anytime soon.

Abdullah the Butcher is currently in an Atlanta hospital. It is not known what is wrong at this time. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Lelani Kai shared on social media that her Glamour Girls tag team partner, Judy Martin, is currently hospitalized: “I had a chance to speak with Judy [last night] on the phone. She wasn’t feeling well and we don’t have the test back yet to know what’s going on. I wrote her on the phone today and hadn’t heard back. I was getting nervous and the phone rang and it was her. I don’t know how she got ahold of it as she’s still in the hospital but she wanted to let me know she was ok. She bought me this jacket when my bag was lost flying to NJ. She didn’t want me to be cold and she even bought herself one so we could match. I’ve always been lucky to have my Judy in my corner. We are still waiting on further test and results. I’ll update you guys. Please keep my best friend in your prayers.” Oklafan wishes her a speedy recovery.
