Dale Reeves has turned in his referee shirt for some wrestling tights. Reeves made his in-ring debut as a wrestler last night at the UWO event in Guthrie. Earlier in the week, he was interviewed about his in-ring debut by Oklahoma City’s FOX 25 during their morning news program. To watch the segment on the show, click here.
Recent WWE Vault additions include a blindfold dark match between Jake Roberts and Rick Martel from January of 1991.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett were not at this past Monday’s “RAW” event in Brooklyn, NY. With their contracts expiring this weekend, there is speculation that the match Kross had against Sami Zayn at “SummerSlam 2025 - Saturday” premium live event on August 2nd in East Rutherford, NJ was their last appearance with the company. Reports later in the week came out that WWE has offered Kross a new contract.
Karrion Kross took time to thank fans on social media ahead of the release of his book. Click here to view the social media post.
Karrion Kross, who along with his wife Scarlett is rumored to be out of a WWE contract this weekend, addressed his contract status while appearing on “The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast”. Kross said that as of Thursday, he was still under a WWE contract and so was his wife. “I don’t know where it’s coming from and I don’t care to speak to any of it,” Kross said regarding the rumors. “All I can tell you is the only way you’re going to get the real story is when you get it from me. That’s all I can tell you.” Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE offered Kross and Scarlett a new deal and last weekend they were promoting his new book while Paul Heyman put him over really big during his appearance on “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Monday, suggesting that Kross is staying. “I can’t really speak to any of the legitimacy of anything that is being recently reported, but I’ll tell you right now, everyone’s going to know exactly what’s going on very soon,” Kross continued. Paul Heyman said fans keep chanting his name at WWE events and his merchandise has skyrocketed to the top of the charts as Kross had an organic rise with fans similar to that of Steve Austin, Daniel Bryan, and Kofi Kingston. This whole thing started when Kross did a profanity-filled interview during an official “WrestleMania” stream online, becoming the talk of town – and online – that weekend.
Dominik Mysterio briefly talked to TMZ about his match at “SummerSlam” against A. J. Styles, which you can watch by clicking here.
While on “Busted Open Radio”, Dominik Mysterio said he had no idea A. J. Styles was going to do a tribute to Eddie Guerrero at “SummerSlam”: “So I didn’t know A. J. was going to do that as far as like coming out with the Low Rider and his, uh, his Latino Heat style shirt. Even his tight…his tights were to the ‘T’ what Eddie wore in ‘05, right? So for me that was a little bit surreal, and I had no idea that was going to happen”.
On “Insight with Chris Van Vliet”, Mike Santana named A. J. Styles as his dream opponent: “A. J. Styles. Just especially being put in this position in TNA as being that new guy and the new face, and they call me ‘The Standard’ and stuff like that. I think it’d be amazing. Of course, there’s other people that I love to work with over there [in WWE], and I have a lot of people that I know and that I came up on the indies with over there. But to me, A. J. is the guy.”
"The Battleground Podcast" recently interviewed Moose and A. J. Francis. Click here to watch the show.
Ric Flair doesn't think Goldberg "needed" his recent retirement match as he has "got enough money”. "[Did you like Goldberg's retirement?] No, not really… Bill’s got enough money. I don’t think he needed to do that. There’s nothing wrong with it. I hold Bill in a high esteem because you have no idea how much he’s been ridiculed just from jealousy, you know what I mean? And I’m glad he had it. I know he wanted his son to see it. The son’s playing football in Colorado and all that. I just hate to see anybody — when you can’t give your best, you know what I mean? I was lucky with Shawn [Michaels]."
Chris Jericho recorded an edition of his “Talk Is Jericho” podcast at The Outsiders House Museum in North Tulsa this past week. The founder of The Outsider House Museum, Danny O’Connor, posted on Facebook “Today was one for the books at The Outsiders House Museum. The legendary Chris Jericho stopped by and, for the first time ever, recorded his Talk Is Jericho podcast remotely right here in North Tulsa! Chris has been to the house before, in fact, he was one of the very first stars to visit the house back in 2017 when we were just starting the rebuild, but this was his first time bringing the podcast here and for that we are truly grateful. Chris is without a doubt “A prince among men”, a man whose passion and appreciation for pop culture is second to none, and it’s always a pleasure to get to talk shop with him. Welcome back to Tulsa, Chris! I’m proud to call you my brother… and even more proud to say that I didn’t make the list! (WWE fans know). Stay Gold. Big thanks to Amy, Walt a.k.a. Clyde, and Donnie for helping make this happen.” Click here to see pictures from the podcast being recorded.
It is being reported that the alliance between M. J. F. and The Hurt Syndicate was originally supposed to last much longer. The angle was ended so quickly due to a request by someone within the group, but it was believed that the request did not come from MVP.
John Powell of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story entitled “Hurt feelings over Hurt Syndicate - AEW locker room turns cold on MVP”, which you can read by clicking here.
The latest column by Talos has been posted to SLAM! Wrestling and can be read by clicking here.
