AEW has reached a deal with the American Association of Professional Baseball for appearances at their games. Jeff Jarrett and Wheeler Yuta were in Fargo, ND, for their All-Star Game Monday and Tuesday. Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh were at a game in Genevera, IL on Thursday, and the Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) were at a game on Thursday in Gary, IN.
While Bill Goldberg has complained a lot about the way his retirement match ended up, the former champion credited Paul “Triple H” Levesque for giving him the opportunity, saying that without him, it would not have been possible. Last week, Goldberg appeared on “The Ariel Helwani Show” and was not in the happiest moods just a few days following his final match. He bemoaned the fact that it was not on a premium live event and that they cut his speech off after 20 seconds. But speaking to The Boston Herald, Goldberg said he was appreciative of Triple H’s work in making this happen. “I couldn’t have done any of that on Saturday night without him,” said Goldberg. “That’s the truth, one thousand percent.” Goldberg added that walking to the ring with his son Gage was the highlight of the night for him and nothing was going to top it off.
New WWE YouTube channel uploads include Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels in a ladder match from SummerSlam 1995 that was ranked number 9 on their list of the “25 Greatest SummerSlam Matches Ever”.
Shawn Michaels joined The Undertaker & Michelle McCool on “Six Feet Under” this past week. You can watch the show by clicking here.
WWE ranked Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H from “SummerSlam 2002” as the 7th greatest match in “SummerSlam” history.
A. J. Styles will finally get his match for the WWE Intercontinental Title against Dominik Mysterio at “SummerSlam”. The match was officially announced this past Monday on “RAW” after Mysterio, who has been cleared to return, kept trying to avoid Styles all night long while Styles kept on egging him to defend the title. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed that the match is a go after he found out that Mysterio was medically cleared to compete. The match was originally set for “Night of Champions” in Saudi Arabia last month but that was called off after Dom picked up an injury.
Leon Slater has revealed what A. J. Styles told him backstage at TNA’s “Slammiversary” pay-per-view. "He was telling me all sorts of stuff, man. Not only was it in-ring advice and little bits that could have been changed to make stuff pop even more within the match itself, more than anything I appreciated the time he took to just talk to me about real life. He's someone that's been through everything in the wrestling business. He's been in Japan, he's been in WWE, obviously he came up through TNA, so he really has seen it all. He was just telling me the thing that's helped him the most and that he's seen get people the furthest is just staying true to who you are. I'm in a super lucky position where I get to be in the TNA locker room, which is the best locker room in the world, on a monthly basis. I'm lucky enough that I like to think I'm slightly close with a Frankie Kazarian, and an Eric Young, and an Eddie Edwards, and these people that have connections all over the wrestling world...Leon Slater in real life, I try and stay as grounded as I can and I think word of that got back to A. J. So he was saying all the good stuff he's heard about our locker room and the morale and my morale in the locker room. That's what really tipped him over the edge and made him want to come and give me that praise. And he was just saying as long as you can stick to that, you're going to go far. Which is something I've always tried to do, but getting that confirmation and validation from A. J., it's huge."
Tessa Blanchard opened up about her complicated return to TNA in 2024, calling the early talks and offers "a little bit insulting". While in Mexico, she recalled, “Scott D’Amore and Gail (Kim) had reached out for me to come back at ‘Hard To Kill’, like, a year before I actually agreed to come back,” but she didn’t feel ready. “I’m so happy in Mexico and it’s taken a lot for me to get to this level of happiness in wrestling again,” she said, explaining her hesitation. She trusted her gut: “If I feel in my gut that something doesn’t feel right, I’m going to listen to that.” So even though the idea of returning at ‘Hard To Kill’ was poetic, “I ultimately turned it down, and I felt confident in that decision.” Talks resumed after Moose got involved: “Moose got Ariel (Shnerer) and I talking... ‘Hey, maybe Tessa comes back at ‘Genesis’.’” She made a surprise appearance at the December tapings in Atlanta, GA. Before committing, she met with Consejo Mundial Lucha Libre leadership. “These are my goals personally, and these are goals professionally,” she told Chairman Salvador Lutteroth, adding, “They made me a star again… other companies searched for me again.” When a dual run with TNA and CMLL didn’t align, they parted respectfully. Returning to TNA was emotional: “God, did I have such anxiety about it…” She acknowledged past mistakes, saying, “I just took a lot of stuff on the chin… and was like, ‘Hey, if you don’t like me then screw you too.’” Tessa is the daughter of Tully Blanchard, the granddaughter of Joe Blanchard, and the stepdaughter of Magnum T. A.
Ric Flair said that he is cancer free again in a post on social media. Flair posted a photo with bandages over his forehead and left bicep/shoulder, posing with a staff member of Academic Alliance in Dermatology, while thanking the company for helping him become cancer free. “The Nature Boy” was diagnosed with round two of skin cancer and underwent procedures last month. Last week Flair canceled an appearance at the ATL Comic Convention due to health-related issues. He apologized for having to miss his scheduled appearance at “ATL Comic Convention” last weekend, sharing a picture of his forehead after undergoing skin cancer treatment: “@ATL__CC, I’m Sorry I Missed You, But Now You Know Why! Moving Forward With @FitermanSports, It Won’t Happen Again!”

The pro wrestling world, as expected, mourned the death of Hulk Hogan, who passed away at the age of 71 on Thursday morning. Many of his former colleagues as well as politicians and people from the entertainment industry posted their thoughts on several different social media platforms:
Sting: “HULK HOGAN – THE GREATEST OF ALL. Can’t thank you enough for all that you did for me and for wrestling fans all over the world. I loved you and I will miss you. My friend, Terry Bollea, RIP”
Shawn Michaels: “A legend. A larger-than-life presence. Hulk Hogan didn’t just work in this business… he transformed it. Rest in peace, Hulkster.”

Ric Flair: I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @HulkHogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me. He was always there for me even when I didn’t ask for him to be. He was one of the first to visit me when I was in the hospital with a 2% chance of living, and he prayed by my bedside. Hulk also lent me money when Reid was sick. Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you! Rest in peace my friend!
