Dimitri Alexandrov won the Houston Chronicle’s Critic’s Choice Award for “Best Spiller of Blood”. Alexandrov stated in a post on social media that he wasn’t even aware he was nominated for the award.
Carlito is officially a free agent as his WWE contract has expired. The Puerto Rican announced two weeks ago that WWE chose not to renew his deal and subsequently was leaving the company. Carlito returned at “Backlash 2023” which was held in Puerto Rico and got involved in the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match. He received a superstar reaction from his hometown crowd and was then signed to a new WWE deal, returning after 11 years. He was recently part of The Judgment Day faction.
Rikishi says WWE completely wasted a true legend like Carlito before releasing him. He said “The Colons, that's another dynasty, you know what I mean? It's always been that way too as well with the Samoan dynasty, and so he comes from that second-generation. Love Carlito, he's a good dude. Pretty much watched him grow up in the business. I would've let Carlito go off as Carlito. I mean, when he left he was over and then you bring him back and you're like a part of this faction but you just threw away the guy that was once a headliner and tossed him in the back of the pile. He can cut a good promo, he's a good worker…here's the thing: he's a safe worker.”
Recent additions to the WWE Vault include Goldberg vs. Chris Jericho from the September 22, 2003 edition of “WWE Monday Night RAW”.
New additions to AEW’s YouTube page include Sting, Adam Copeland, & Darby Allin vs. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, & Luchasaurus) from “Full Gear 2023”.
Paul Walter Hauser named Sting, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, & Chris Jericho as his pro wrestling Mount Rushmore.
Ric Flair posted that he’s “on the mend” after starting treatment for his skin cancer, the second one identified in three years. “The Nature Boy” uploaded a selfie showing small round bandaids on his forehead and a puffed left side of his face, presumably some side effects from the treatment he started this week. Flair originally denied that he was suffering from skin cancer after his son-in-law Conrad Thompson said so. But weeks later, he told People.com that he was indeed having another bout with cancer.
Ric Flair had to pull out of an appearance for health reasons last week for Sky Wellness in Pearl, MS. The clinic posted a message on social media saying that Flair will delay his appearance due to ongoing health concerns. “His doctors have recommended that he does not travel at this time. Please keep him in your prayers. When we have more information about a new scheduled date we will let you know,” the post said. Flair himself then addressed the situation saying that he has health issues he needs to attend to. “Melanoma, I have found out, is nothing to play with,” Flair wrote.
