NEWS
It was announced this past week that both Carlito and R-Truth would be leaving WWE when their respective contracts expire. While R-Truth looks to have been re-signed after attacking John Cena at “Money in the Bank” on Saturday, Carlito still is unsigned at this time. This was Carlito’s second stint with the company. He originally started with WWE on a developmental deal in June 2003 and was brought up to the main roster a year later. He was released in 2010 and wrestled in many independents, including World Wrestling Council, until he was re-signed by WWE in 2023. Carlito’s contract reportedly expires at the end of June. Carlito won the World Wrestling Council Puerto Rico Title on May 31st so it looks as if he already has matches on the horizon outside of WWE.

Regarding the WWE departure of Carlito, at the “Monday Night RAW” in Tulsa, there were “Where’s Carlito” chants during the match featuring Kairi Sane vs. Raquel Rodriguez of The Judgment Day. On WWE’s part, there were no outright references to his departure incorporated into the show. Dominik Mysterio did wear a Carlito shirt during his backstage segment in The Judgment Day clubhouse, but the clubhouse didn’t have a PS5 in it this week, so it would appear Carlito has taken that with him. Other than the fans chanting for Carlito, and Dominik wearing a Carlito shirt, there was no other mention of him during the show, even during The Judgment Day segments. Carlito simply wasn’t there with no explanation for his absence.

Later in the week it was also announced that the contract for Valhalla expired June 2nd and would not be renewed. Valhalla is the wife of Erik of The War Raiders. She has been out of action since late 2024 when she went on maternity leave. She gave birth to her and Erik’s son Ezekiel in November.

There was a change in one of the WWE/Lucha Libre AAA World Wide’s “Worlds Collide” matches as Joaquin Wilde was injured during the “WWE Speed” tapings on Monday in Tulsa and was ruled out of the show. Wilde was supposed to team up with fellow LWO members Cruz del Toro & Dragon Lee to take on Aero Star, Mr. Iguana, & Octagon Jr. in a 6-Man Tag Team Match but Wilde replaced by Lince Dorado. Wilde was knocked out during a match against Lexis King, with him writing on social media that he was never knocked out cold before. The match was stopped and Wilde was helped out by the WWE medical team at ringside. Wilde has since said that he’s doing okay now.

Up now on the WWE Vault on YouTube is Shawn Michaels vs. Goldust in a Ladder Match from 1996 at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Sting 2025 Or Never tour has added another stop: Arlington, TX at “Starrcast”. Earlier this year, the multi-time champion announced the tour which will take him to multiple cities in the United States and United Kingdom donning the face paint and wrestling gear for the last time. Sting will still do fan conventions beyond 2025 however he will not be appearing as the Crow Sting. The “Starrcast” fan convention will take place at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th during the “AEW All In: Texas” weekend.

“Dark Side of the Ring” concluded its sixth season on ViceTV last week after 10 new episodes aired. Season 7 has not been officially announced yet but producers did ask a question on social media asking what potential topics they could cover for the new season. The first two episodes, “Mick Foley: Hell In A Cell” and “Ludvig Borga: Hellraiser From Helsinki”, never had its viewership published for some reason. The same goes for
episode four, “Tony Atlas: Too Much, Too Soon”. In other episodes, “Big Van Vader” was the third one with 106,000 viewers and 0.02 in 18-49. Episode five was “The Original ‘Superstar’: Billy Graham” and that did 134,000 viewers and a 0.04 in 18-49. “‘Hot Stuff’ Eddie Gilbert” was episode six and had 68,000 viewers and 0.01 in 18-49. Episode seven was entitled “Truth, Lies and Billy Jack Haynes” and it did 73,000 viewers and 0.02 in 18-49. Episode eight was “Blood, Fire and the Original Sheik” and drew 102,000 viewers and a 0.02 in 18-49. “The Scream Queen: Daffney” was episode nine and did 140,000 viewers and 0.03 in 18-49. The final episode, #10, was “Becoming Muhammad Hassan” and drew 90,000 viewers and 0.02 in 18-49.

People.com is reporting in an exclusive story that “Nature Boy” Ric Flair has been diagnosed with skin cancer for the second time in three years. The admission comes after Flair denied a report a few weeks ago from his own son-in-law Conrad Thompson that he had cancer. “It’s the second time in three years that I’ve been dealing with skin cancer,” the 76-year-old Flair told People. “I will be undergoing treatment next week.” Flair last appeared on television in mid-May, appearing on “AEW Collision” to pay tribute to former Four Horseman member Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Last week, Flair accused Jim Ross in a now-deleted X post to stop seeking attention and focus on getting better after he underwent colon cancer surgery. That was followed by a bit of a meltdown on social media, writing that he tried being nice and this was his last message to everyone. “I’ve got more money than I’ve got time,” Flair wrote. “Go F yourself haters. No comment needed. Live with it! Actually learn to love it! Get back to me again when you make 3 million dollars a year at the age of 76.” Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Johnny Humble underwent surgery on June 6th for an obstructed intestine and to remove a kidney stone. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan is saddened to report the death of Amanda Fields, who competed under the names of Mia James & Talon. She passed away June 3, 2025 from cancer, which led to liver failure. She was 49 years old. Talon debuted in 2001 as the sister of Dominator and Outlaw, The Brotherhood of Pain. But she would soon turn on those two and join her husband, Michael James and would go on to be the valet for the tag team of James and Thomas St. Charles known as Corporate America. That grouping would compete in MSWA for much of the time period between 2002 & 2005, though Talon herself rarely wrestled. She is reported to have had some matches against Ares, the valet for The Trojans (Ben Hurt & Brutus Maximus), but there is no documentation available to confirm this. In 2006, Talon put together a new version of Corporate America with James joined by Terry Pantera and 3rd Rail. Tommy Smash would later become a member and Outlaw would also be brought back into her fold. This version dominated AACW and carried over into SWCW. That was where Talon experienced her only championship opportunity. She defeated SWCW Women's Champion Lady Venom on August 19, 2007 for the title and would frequently face Venom and Jessi Jersey in the ring while champion. She was never defeated for the title either. Instead it (and all SWCW titles) were stripped from the current champions on November 5, 2007 when SWCW management made some significant talent adjustments. Talon disappeared from wrestling until June 1, 2008 when she returned, this time at MSWA. Now strictly a manager, Talon initially aligned with The Syndicate (Scott Sanders & Shawn Sanders), but quickly sided with her new husband, Dexter Hardaway. This run in MSWA saw her guide Hardaway in both MSWA and ComPro, where he engaged in a feud with Shane Morbid, leading to a Last Man Standing Match on May 9, 2009. Talon's presence at ringside and willingness to get involved in the matches proved beneficial at times for Hardaway, though for the most part he seemed to come out on the losing side of things. The last match she was documented to have participated in in Oklahoma was a match where The Midnite Rider defeated Hardaway (w/ Talon) at an MSWA event on June 28, 2009. Talon then made her way to Arkansas based Traditional Championship Wrestling, where she initially aligned with Dustin Heritage before once again making her way back to the side of Dexter Hardaway. Sadly, an injury suffered at her job as a guard in a juvenile corrections center led to the end of any participation in wrestling, as she was left permanently disabled and suffering from chronic pain. Nonetheless, even if she could not compete in the ring or support those while being at ringside, she did not completely give up on the wrestling world and for several years, Talon was the head of security for WFC where she continued to watch her then-husband during his time in that company. Talon and Hardaway would eventually move away from WFC and would divorce, with Talon relocating to her home state of Texas where she once again remarried. The last few years saw multiple battles with cancer and her health took a steady decline. Her daughter Pyper remained by her side the entire time until she took her final breath. Most everyone who knew her recognized her as someone who demanded to be treated as an equal to the men in the business. She trained the same way and paid the same dues and never wanted to be looked at differently just because she was a woman. She was strong, fierce, and a fighter, but also a loving, caring woman who treated you as a friend or loved one forever once she accepted you as such. Talon actively participated in 50 documented wrestling events in Oklahoma as either an in-ring competitor or a manager. The earliest was an NMS event in Oklahoma City on February 22, 2002, where she was advertised on the card and probably managed Michael James, but no match or result are known. The last was an MSWA event in Oklahoma City where she managed Dexter Hardaway to a loss against The Midnite Rider on June 28, 2009. Oklafan extends its condolences to Talon's friends and family, which includes her brothers, K. C. & J. C., who competed together as Dynamite Extreme and Trailer Park Trash.
