NEWS
It has recently been reported that Bobby Joe Bristow allegedly paid SWF Pro Wrestling $1500 to be able to wrestle Tommy Dreamer in March, but the match did not happen. It was further alleged that Bristow then paid SWF another $1500 for the promise of wrestling Snitsky this past Saturday in Toms River, NJ. But apparently after paying the money to SWF, Bristow reportedly wasn’t able to afford transportation to get to New Jersey for the show. The match did not happen and Bristow lost his money because he no showed. The show went on without him, but Snitsky did wrestle another opponent.
In a post on his social media, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg revealed that he has started his training camp for his retirement match which will come later in the year in WWE. “And the grind begins…..assembling my in ring crew,” he wrote, posting a photo along with his son Gage, Marshall Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich, boxer and mixed martial artist Tyrone Spong, and strength and mobility coach Jimmy House at the Black Diamond Martial Arts facility in Boerne, TX. Goldberg is getting the retirement match he was originally promised by Vince McMahon. He has not wrestled since the 2022 “Elimination Chamber” premium live event where he lost to Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia. Goldberg confronted Gunther at “Bad Blood” in Atlanta, GA this past October.
“WWE Rivals”, which tackled the rivalry between Shawn Michaels and Scott Hall, drew 187,000 viewers, up 17,000 viewers from the previous episode. It had a 0.05 in 18-49, same as the previous week.
WWE continued its countdown of the 50 greatest matches in “WrestleMania” history by ranking The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan from “WrestleMania VI” at #15 and the Iron Man Match featuring Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart from “WrestleMania XII” at #14.
Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker sat down together to rewatch their classic match at “WrestleMania XXV” for a “WWE Playback” video. Click here to watch the video.
Word is that Karrion Kross’ contract with the WWE expires this summer.
Karrion Kross was recently interviewed by Adrian Hernandez. You can watch the interview by clicking here.
On “Insight with Chris Van Vliet”, Samoa Joe listed A. J. Styles, Kurt Angle, Abyss, and Jeff Jarrett as his Mount Rushmore of TNA wrestlers.
Oklahoma State University’s Wyatt Hendrickson was named the 2025 winner of the Dan Hodge Trophy. Hendrickson defeated former WWE NIL wrestler Gable Steveson of the University of Minnesota in the NCAA national championship match a few weeks ago. Named after Perry, Oklahoma’s Danny Hodge, the trophy is given to the most outstanding collegiate wrestler, essentially the college wrestling version of the Heisman Trophy that is awarded in college football. The trophy was first awarded in 1995 to T. J. Jaworsky of the University of North Carolina. Hodge is widely recognized as one of the best collegiate wrestlers in history. In 3 years of college wrestling, Hodge was undefeated and was never taken off his feet. Hodge wrestled collegiately for the University of Oklahoma and ironically no wrestler from his alma mater has won the trophy. Hendrickson is the 3rd wrestler from Oklahoma State to win the trophy following Alex Dieringer in 2016 and Steve Mocco in 2005. Steveson won the trophy in 2022 and was co-winner in 2021.
Oklafan congratulates Devion Black on his recent engagement on April 5th following his match at BCW in Guthrie. His fiancée is the sister of Alex Royal and Zac Royal and the cousin of Dustin Tibbs.
Oklafan congratulates Bud Barnes on his recent marriage on April 5th. Aaron Neil and Kevin Morgan served as groomsmen and Father Padge conducted the ceremony.
Beau Betten is suffering from a back injury. He announced on Facebook that doctors have suggested he not wrestle for at least 3 months. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
Mick Foley was in a car accident this past week suffering a few bumps and bruises and a concussion. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
Noelle Foley made a post on her Instagram stories yesterday saying that she was flying home to see her father Mick, who was thankfully able to avoid catastrophic injury in a scary car accident. Mick Foley suffered a concussion, has soft tissue damage, and is sore but said he feels really fortunate that the situation isn’t worse. He still plans on making all of his scheduled appearances that are coming up. Noelle wrote “Flying home to see my dad right now. Thanks to those of you who reached out. I’ve honestly been an emotional wreck these past 24 hours, but I am just so thankful and grateful that he is ‘okay.’ I put okay in parentheses because he is very banged up and in a great deal of pain and had a concussion, which we all know can be very tricky and symptoms can be delayed after the injury. So I’ve been frantically worried about him, but just very happy I’ll be landing soon and seeing him shortly. For anybody wondering what happened, my dad was in a bad car accident. No it wasn’t an April fools joke. My dad would never joke about a car accident or a concussion. Every time I see this picture I get so emotional. It’s a miracle he was able to walk away from this.”
