NEWS
Jim Cornette is a name currently missing from the WWE Hall of Fame, despite many names within the industry, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, pushing for him to be inducted. Regarding a possible WWE return for Jim Cornette, Fightful Select reports that his name hasn’t come up in creative discussions in “recent years”. The report specifies that this isn’t in a “we aren’t bringing him in” way, just that the belief within the company is that Cornette is successful and content with his current projects.
On his podcast “The Hacksaw Hour”, WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan revealed that he signed a new WWE Legends deal recently, his first one in several years. “Just recently signed the Legends deal. I haven’t signed it for a while…there was a little kind of discrepancy what was going on,” Duggan told his listeners. “But we got it all worked out and was able to sign it. So hopefully the action figures and the games will be coming back out again.” The WWE Legends who are being invited to appear at shows have spoken highly of the new WWE regime in charge, all saying that they are treated with more respect now than when things were under the leadership of Vince McMahon. Duggan said that it looks like a “whole new day” in WWE and is now proud to be a part of it, although he said he never had a bad word to say against the company or its previous chief Vince McMahon. “I never blasted the WWE. I never blasted Vince. As bad as he was, I still wouldn’t be where I am without him. Wrestling wouldn’t be where it is without him,” he said. Duggan was recently at ringside for the second episode of “Saturday Night’s Main Event”.
With Demolition (Ax & Smash) recently signing a WWE Legends deal, there is speculation that they will also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
On Monday, 2K unveiled the full roster for the WWE 2K25 video game with a total of 250 playable characters and 17 non-playable characters. The roster includes stars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, WWE Hall of Famers, Legends, and former Superstars. Among those in the game include A. J. Styles, Andre The Giant, Cactus Jack, Carlito, Doink the Clown, Dude Love, Dusty Rhodes, Erik of The War Raiders, Ethan Page, Harley Race, Fatu and Samu of The Headshrinkers, The Honky Tonk Man, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Joaquin Wilde, Karrion Kross, Mankind, Mick Foley, Rick Rude, Rick Steiner, Rikishi, Roddy Piper, Scott Steiner, Shawn Michaels, Terry Funk, The Iron Sheik, The Ultimate Warrior, Vader, and Afa and Sika of The Wild Samoans. Among some of the non-playable characters are Afa, Brother Love, Mick Foley, and Paul Bearer. WWE 2K25 is available for pre-order now and it will be out in stores on March 14th.
Latest additions to the WWE Vault include four hours of Terry Funk promos, matches, and found footage, and a Fatal 4-Way Match featuring Vader vs. Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker vs. Steve Austin from “In Your House 13: Final Four” on February 16, 1997.
