Conrad Thompson also announced that “Starrcast” will be returning for another edition to coincide with “All In: Texas” in Arlington that weekend. Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Doc Buffwell, who passed away December 6th from heart failure. He was 72 years old. Buffwell's real name was Galen Kerry Knowlton and he also competed as Doc Savage. Some sources indicate that he was trained by Chris Adams alongside Steve Austin. Knowlton was a competitor in the mid-1990s for companies in the Tulsa area as well as for Bill Ash in Arkansas. He also had his own talk-show segment on the television programs for some of these companies. After retiring from in-ring competition, Knowlton would serve as a broadcaster and interviewer for companies such as World League Wrestling. Knowlton had a thriving business as a chiropractor and was frequently present backstage at Tulsa-area wrestling events. Additionally, he appeared in some movies, notably serving as stunt coordinator for "Witchcraft X: Mistress of the Craft" as well as having a role on screen. At the time of this writing, Buffwell had 5 documented appearances in Oklahoma. The earliest was July 5, 1997, where he teamed with Bill Ash and lost to OPW Oklahoma Tag Team Champions Generation X (Zane Morris & Ian St. James) at an OPW event in Tulsa. The last was May 2, 1998, where he defeated OPW Oklahoma Champion Red Eagle by Countout at an OPW event in Tulsa.
