Wish list: 5 Road Warrior Matches I Wanted To See

Posted: Aug 2nd 2024 By: Rob Faint - RingTheDamnBell.Wordpress.com

In my opinion, the Road Warriors (or the Legion of Doom) were the greatest tag team of all time. With Paul Ellering, they dominated the big 3 federations and Japan. Everywhere they went, they were feared and respected. The list of teams they defeated includes some of the greatest of all time.

With that, there are some teams I wished they could have faced. In these scenarios, I am envisioning both teams at their peak.

1. The Von Erichs- I can imagine the scene. The Dallas Sportatorium is filled to the rafters. Kerry and Kevin make it to the ring, “Tom Sawyer” blasting through the speakers. Suddenly the 1st cords of “Iron Man” signal the arrival of the Roadies. Chaos ensues.

2. The Dudleys-The ECW arena is torn. While they love their hometown Dudleys, the rabid hardcore fans love the Warriors. A hardcore match suits both teams just fine.

3. Bruiser Brody/Stan Hansen-Japan? Puerto Rico? Where would be the best place to hold this match? The Tokyo Egg Dome may not be big enough to contain the violence.

4. The Miracle Violence Connection-Steve Williams and Terry Gordy have faced the RWs individually or part of other teams, but never as the Miracle Violence Connection. I wonder if they would try and wrestle the Roadies or out brawl them.

5. The British Bulldogs-Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid made a great tag team in the WWF and Japan. The Dogs could wrestle, and they could brawl, providing a tough matchup for the Warriors.
