NWA Owner Billy Corgan teased last week during an appearance on “Busted Open Radio” that his promotion had recently signed with a "Top 20 network". According to a report from “Haus of Wrestling”, both TV deals are with The CW, and an official announcement is coming relatively soon. The deal is reportedly for both “NWA Powerrr” and a reality show. The CW is channel 34 in the Oklahoma City market and channel 19 in Tulsa market using over an air antenna, and is on most other cable and satellite television services . Check local listings and channel guides for channels in your area.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, former AEW star Fuego del Sol talked about working with his former colleagues, including C. M. Punk. Fuego had nothing but good things to say about “The Second City Saint”. ”He always made time for me, he was always kind to me. I don’t know how everybody else feels about Punk. I try to never let someone else’s opinion of someone distract how they treated me. I try to figure out how they treated me, did they treat me well? When I got hurt and had a foot injury, he had a similar foot injury the year before. He reached out to me when he didn’t have to, he gave me advice, he let me vent when I was in a dark place during my injury. I will forever be grateful and thankful to him for that. He did not have to reach out to me and talk to me as much as he did, so he will always be a friend in my book. I like C. M. Punk and hope the best for him for whatever he decides to do next. The fact that he treated me so well means a lot to me. He was good to me, if you’re good to me, I’ll forever be great to you – big thanks to C. M. Punk.”
Trinity and Mickie James were interviewed by NBC Chicago ahead of “Bound for Glory” which you can watch by clicking here.
In a post on Instagram, Mickie James expressed how proud she is of her husband Nick Aldis, who last week started his first WWE on-screen work as the new SmackDown General Manager. “You have worked so long, and so hard for this moment. A moment you have dreamed of since you were 13yrs old,” Mickie wrote. “A moment we both prayed for & one we thought may never come. I know your love and passion for this industry. I know how bad you wanted it.” Aldis is a former NWA and TNA World Champion but had never worked for WWE prior to August of this year when he started trialing as a producer on a handshake deal. That handshake deal is now a proper talent contract. “I know you are going to knock it out the park no matter what. You deserve this so much! You are over prepared for whatever is in store. I just can’t wait to watch you shine,” James continued. “I am so very happy for you. We are all so proud of you. I love you more than words. Go out there and kill it.”

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Bill Howard, who passed away after struggling with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on October 7, 2023. He was 78 years old. Howard ran away from home to join the circus at age 15 and lost one of his fingers to a bear. At age 16, he made his professional wrestling debut. Never a huge star, Howard was always fine with his typical position in the opening half of the show, once famously telling Verne Gagne (who was on his way to an AWA World Title defense) to "think about all the movies and cold beer you've missed" because of his main event status. Howard wrestled in many different places during his lengthy career, coming to Oklahoma in the first half of 1971 for a brief stay. His most famous run was under the alias of Ratamyus, which he used when he worked for his childhood friend Angelo Poffo in International Championship Wrestling as well as in Puerto Rico. As a result, he was the opponent for Randy Savage in many of Savage’s earliest matches. Howard did a few enhancement matches in the WWF in the late 1980s and served as a referee for WWF when they came to the Kansas City area where he eventually settled, but he had retired by 1987 and focused on his carpet and upholstery cleaning business. Howard appeared on 5 documented Oklahoma wrestling cards. The earliest was a TSW event on February 26, 1971 in Oklahoma City, where he and Jean War Eagle wrestled to a draw. And the last was a TSW event on December 16, 1980 in Oklahoma City, where he and Terry Gibbs faced each other, but the result is not known.
Greg Oliver of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story about Bill Howard’s passing, which you can read by clicking here.
