NEWS
Former Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James will be the special guest enforcer for the women's Queen of the Mountain Match at the upcoming "Slammiversary" pay-per-view on June 19th. The multi-time champ revealed the news while appearing on the "Battleground Podcast". The Queen of the Mountain Match is similar to the men's King of the Mountain Match, and this will be the first time that such match will take place with the women. Tasha Steelz will be defending her Knockouts Title against Mia Yim, Jordynne Grace, Chelsea Green, and Deonna Purrazzo. Seven matches have been announced for the card so far, headlined by Josh Alexander defending the Impact World Title against Eric Young. This Slammiversary pay-per-view will mark the 20 year anniversary of Impact Wrestling.

Chris Jericho and MVP apparently have heat. Sometimes in wrestling, relationships get burned in odd ways. For many, we never find out what was the cause of heat between two pro wrestlers. One of those occasions might be right now, as there appears to be legitimate heat between an AEW and WWE star. Dave Meltzer wrote about an altercation between Chris Jericho and MVP following an AEW taping in May in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Allegedly, the pair got into it due to a falling out 18 months ago, with Jericho antagonizing MVP with one last insult before he left: “After the 5/18 show in Houston, there was a confrontation in the hotel the wrestlers were staying at between Chris Jericho and MVP at about 1 a.m. after the Dynamite tapings. Something that I’m not clear of happened 18 months ago where they had a falling out. Jericho was talking to Matt Hardy and MVP showed up. Most people didn’t know what was up and thought he was kidding around until it became clear he wasn’t kidding. Nothing bad happened even though it was a tense situation. Jericho did tell him that he doesn’t fight jobbers when he got in the elevator and MVP was screaming about it in the lobby” It is not known what the reason for the heat between Jericho and MVP is, but it sounds like it runs deep if the two are nearly getting into a brawl at a hotel.

Curt Gannon & Niles Plonk were seen as members of the AEW Security force on this week’s episode of "AEW Dynamite".

NWA World Matt Cardona has a great idea in mind for Ric Flair’s last match. He recently spoke with Phil Strum on "Under The Ring" and was asked to book himself against anyone from any era. Cardona said he wanted to be Ric Flair’s final opponent, noting that the story writes itself since Flair and the NWA are forever linked, and he’s the current champion. "Ric Flair’s Last Match" is being promoted as taking place at "Starrcast V" in Nashville, TN on July 31st. It’s worth noting that Cardona’s interview was recorded prior to him announcing he was having surgery to repair a torn bicep. “Would it be too cheap to say that I want to have Ric Flair’s last match for the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship? I mean that’s the talk of the wrestling business right now, Ric Flair having one more match. Does he want to be a 17-time champ? If he does, I got the Ten Pounds of Gold. I could put Sweet Charlotte on the line. Think about it. ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair vs. ‘Always Ready’ Matt Cardona for the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship. Tell me that does not sell out an arena. I’ve heard the rumors of what the match will be. And I’m sure it’s gonna be a great match. I’m sure it’s gonna be fun for everybody. But don’t you think his last match ever should be for the Ten Pounds of Gold. You think of NWA, you think of the Ten Pounds of Gold, you think of Ric Flair, ‘The Nature Boy.’ I think it’d be fitting if he goes out, I won’t say on top, because I’d beat him. But I think at least give him the opportunity to be a 17-time World's Heavyweight Champion. That’s historic. That’s history. That’s the match, baby. That writes itself. There’s no team of writers writing that. That’s a storybook ending, win, lose, or draw.”

Ric Flair is returning to the ring next month as part of the Starrcast festival and has even promised to take a bump off the top rope in his final match. Flair has repeatedly shown that he is going to compete in the match despite the detractors worried for his health. Now it seems, Flair wants to make his retirement party a two for one. On the latest episode of "To Be The Man" podcast, Flair expressed his urge to throw it down with Vince McMahon at "SummerSlam 2022". The premium live event will take place a day before Starrcast. “I’m gonna text Vince today and say, ‘I think you and I should have one last encounter at SummerSlam… we deserve it… before I retire the next day. Vince McMahon against Ric Flair… I’ll take the bumps, Vince just punches me, I’ll take a blade. The crowd will go crazy! I’ll fall on my face. How easy is that?” Flair is set team with F. T. R. (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) to face The Rock-N-Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and a mystery partner at Starrcast. Vince McMahon faced Pat McAfee at "WrestleMania 38" in an impromptu match.

WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr. from "Great American Bash 2004".

Bruce Prichard has been sidelined with an injury. Prichard, the Executive Director of SmackDown and RAW, announced that he tore his rotator cuff on the latest episode of "Something To Wrestle", Prichard announced that he tore his rotator cuff, and he needs surgery. It’s unclear whether he’ll have to step away from his duties during his recovery. “I wish I had a good story for that,” said Prichard. “I had colitis. I changed my diet, started working out, started getting healthy and feeling good. I put on weight because I’m working out, getting stronger and all this good shit, feeling good, but my shoulder was bugging me. I was going in for treatment on my shoulder. one day, I look in the mirror, and my entire right arm is black and blue, the ugliest thing you’ve seen in your life. I said, ‘what is this?’ Didn’t hurt, matter of fact, my shoulder pain had gone away. I went to the doctor, said, ‘what is this bruising from?’ They look at, ‘you tore your bicep, clean off the bone, from your shoulder.’ How the hell did I do that? I did nothing where I can say, ‘I heard that pop.’ Nothing like that. I continue my training, I’m stronger than ever, I do all my stuff, next thing I know, my shoulder starts hurting again. “This time, it’s a different pain and it’s intense and it’s not going away. I got it checked out at 'WrestleMania' and the doctor says, ‘Bruce, your rotator cuff is torn.’ ‘How can you tell that from examining me?’ Well, he’s the top top guy. Got an MRI — had a panic attack when they put me in the MRI thing, a little claustrophobic because they put me in a tube that is the size of your left toe — I got it done, it’s torn, I’ll get it fixed. It got to the point where I was in pain all day long and I don’t feel like being in pain all day long. I’ll just be in pain for six more months knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.” Prichard returned to WWE in 2019. He previously worked for the company in the late 1980s and throughout the 90s until he left the promotion in 2008. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Kikutaro announced on his Facebook that his grandson Taro has joined the ranks of professional wrestling.

Oklafan congratulates Brixton Barricade, who recently surpassed 6 months as ASP All Time Champion. He defeated Mick Foley for the title at an autograph signing in Oklahoma City on December 11, 2021 when he took the title back from Foley after a photo shoot, taking advantage of the "Possession is 9/10 of the Law" rule that the title holds.

Amanda Lynn had a partial hysterectomy on June 7th. Oklafan wishes her a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolences to Logan Knight on the passing of his grandmother on June 4th.

Oklafan extends condolences to Ricky Wingrave on the passing of his father-in-law on June 5th.
