NEWS
In an interview with Karan Prashant Saxena of the Hindustan Times, Jinder Mahal named Karrion Kross as a person he’d like to face. As for the reason? It would be a new matchup. “I would say Karrion Kross, just because I have not had that match-up yet,” said Mahal. “I have had matches with Bobby Lashley, I have had matches with Roman Reigns. Karrion Kross brings something new to the WWE, something unique.” He has that mysterious side. He is very unpredictable. He is great in the ring, he is very technical. He brings that blend of mixed-martial arts – striking and submissions to the ring. So, I think Karrion Kross would make a good match-up. I think he is very similar in size to me, roughly the same height, roughly the same body type.”

Riddle spoke to SportsKeeda regarding a recent interaction with Goldberg. “Bill Goldberg is extremely entertaining, I can't take anything away from that but I'll tell you this, I saw Bill the other day before he challenged Bobby Lashley and he was walking to the Gorilla Position and I was standing there and I was with Damian Priest at the time and he says hi to everybody and then Goldberg comes up to me gives me a look. He was making a face and then he goes, 'Hey, congratulations kid....' and I was like, 'Oh man, Goldberg is kind of nice', so I gave him a little handshake and he went out and challenged Bobby and then he was coming out, through Gorilla again and I was like, 'Hey Goldberg, good stuff' and as he gave me a fist bump he says, 'I only need two moves' so I was like, 'Oh man, the guy's still got it'”.

WWE matches added to YouTube last week include A. J. Styles vs. John Cena from the February 27, 2018 edition of SmackDown and MVP vs. Jeff Hardy from "SummerSlam 2008".

On his podcast, Jim Ross heaped some big time praise on Pat McAfee who has fit in well on SmackDown thus far. “I think he’s a breath of fresh air. He’s contemporary. He fits in the scheme of things very well. He’s a guy that’s fun, respects the wrestling business. He doesn’t s–t on it. He doesn’t look down his nose at it or ‘talk down to me’ type thing to the audience. I think he’s done a great job. He’s a good hire. I know Cole handles the contracts of the announcers. I’m assuming that includes Pat. So, give Michael Cole some credit for Pat McAfee being on that show Friday night.”

Ric Flair is what many would call one of the greatest, if not the greatest pro wrestler of all time. Well looks like we could see the former 4 Horsemen stablemate back in the squared circle, if he has anything to do with it. Flair was released earlier this month from WWE after requesting his release and has many fans guessing where he’ll go next. It was previously being reported that Flair was looking for one more run in the ring. Last week, he added fuel to that fire, after tweeting a pic of himself in the gym flexing. The 72-year-old last competed while in TNA in 2011. Flair tweeted. ”Damn right! Do you think an Airplane crash, Being struck by lightning, and almost dying four years ago can stop the nature boy? Hell No! WOOOO!”

Ric Flair tweeted out a photo, and based on it, it looks like the “Natureboy” may be ring-ready should anyone want to “walk that aisle!”

Jeff Jarrett spoke on his "My World" podcast about a wide range of topics. During it, he was asked about why Mike Graham said Jarrett never drew any money in the business: “Well, I guess this is the time to tell the story behind the story. My father has had several mentors, but do you know who his favorite mentor was? Eddie Graham. Do you know who knew that more than anybody? Mike Graham. Eddie really liked my old man. They had a really good relationship. It was a father/son relationship. My dad’s dad went off to war. He didn’t get killed. He came back to the United States but didn’t come home, so my father grew up without a father figure. Roy Welch was the old promoter in town who was Nick Gulas’ partner, but Eddie really became like a father figure, and Mike knew that. Mike was never really a fan of my father. I’m well aware, and I’m going to be diplomatic about this, I’m well aware of mental health issues, but let’s just say Eddie had mental health issues. He took his life, and Mike took his own life. I can’t speak for them, but they had a lot of baggage. That goes pretty deep. Mike did the hang around backstage at TNA multiple times and wasn’t hired. I was with Mike in the WCW days when he was a producer/agent. I could tell something was there that, let’s just say, that was a well known, unspoken issue, that Mike’s father and mine had a professional relationship. Mike knew very well that my dad became a successful territory promoter, and a lot of the tricks of the trade he learned from Mike’s dad, and their territory went away. There’s a real deep side to that, so when that GIF or whatever you want to say, that comment came out, I got it. I was way on the outside. I was at TNA and rocking and rolling over there, and Mike created a great soundbite, and great visual, but I’ve always had compassion because knowing his upbringing in the last years of his life, specifically as the years went on, him coming and wanting to be a part ot TNA, and we didn’t have a spot for him, and I don’t know what happened with WWE, I never got upset. I had compassion for him, but that’s the story behind the story. It still makes for a good GIF, I’ll say that.”

Due to his actions at the August 7th Heart of Texas Wrestling event, Brent McKenzie weas relieved of his duties as Chairman of the Heart of Texas Wrestling Championship Committee.

Oklafan extends condolences to Umbra on the passing of his uncle Rick last week.

Oklafan extends condolences to Trey Cole on the passing of his grandfather-in-law on August 14th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Chad Virden, who competed as The Liberty Kid, Yankee Rose, and Satchel Reigns during his career. He passed away July 29, 2021 at the age of 46. While a specific cause of death has not been announced, he was known to have been on a ventilator shortly before his death. Virden was born in Bartlesville, OK and after graduating from high school, trained with Tom Jones to become a pro wrestler. He debuted as The Liberty Kid in 1993 in PZWA, defeating The Shadow by DQ. After a year under that name, he redebuted in 1994 as Yankee Rose on August 21, 1994, defeating TNT. He would go on to form a tag team with Wild Maverick known as The Pony Express and they would capture the PZWA Tag Team Titles on December 5, 1994 in a one-night tournament by defeating The Brotherhood of Pain (Slash & Chains) in the finals. He had also held the tag team titles with Red Eagle and J. J. Mustang as well as the PZWA Junior Heavyweight Title. After splitting from Maverick, Virden eventually left PZWA and began a career in security. He would go on to form a company called Killing Frost Productions which created a different haunted theme every year for the next 13 years. In 2012, Virden re-entered the world of pro wrestling, debuting in SRPW as Satchel Reigns and defeating El Calavero on December 29th. He split his time between SRPW and UWE, forming a tag team with Psycho Sawyer in SRPW and participating in several multi-man matches in UWE, but was never a strong contender for any title in either federation. His last documented match was a loss to Cousin Theo on May 18, 2013 for UWE in Tahlequah. After that, he retired from wrestling, choosing to spend his time with his family, who was the most important thing to him. In total, Virden appeared on a total of 34 documented cards in Oklahoma.
