Erik of The Viking Raiders announced in a post on social media that he underwent surgery to remove a surgical screw from his triceps. “Today I had some hardware removed from my cyborg arm. I’ve been putting off this surgery for a very long time and just worked around and thru the pain and limitations caused by a surgical screw protruding into my triceps,” Erik wrote. “For the last several years I’ve been fighting and training with one arm tied behind my back. Thanks to the wonderful Dr Dugas, I’m excited to come back at full strength. I’ll see you guys real soon.” Erik now joins his tag team partner Ivar on the injured list, with Ivar undergoing neck surgery a couple of weeks ago after an injury he suffered during a match on RAW. Erik’s surgery took place at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, the same place where almost all WWE Superstars go to get fixed up.
There were some changes on night one of the WWE Draft as some superstars, including new champions, switched brands. Perhaps the biggest story of the night was The New Day splitting up, with the returning Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and then got drafted to RAW while Big E remained on the SmackDown as a solo. Heavy Machinery (Otis & Tucker) look like they were split as well with only Otis drafted to SmackDown although Tucker is now a free agent. Lars Sullivan, who returned on SmackDown, has been added to the pool of names who are eligible to be drafted on Monday. Those drafted by Monday Night RAW are WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, RAW Women’s champion Asuka, The Hurt Business (MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, & WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley), A. J. Styles, Naomi, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax, Ricochet, Mandy Rose, The Miz & John Morrison, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, Dana Brooke, and Angel Garza. Drafted to SmackDown are WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Big E, and Otis. Those who were eligible to be drafted but were not are Drew Gulak, Humberto Carrillo, The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik, & Lince Dorado), Mickie James, Murphy, Shorty G, and Tucker.
A. J. Styles on Twitch said he was disappointed about finding out the news regarding WWE taking over Twitch accounts, saying that he learned the news on the internet and doesn’t know what will happen. "You would think it would be better than that," Styles said. "For guys who are on here trying to, not only work for WWE, but get on here and Twitch and stuff like that, you'd think it'd be a lot easier to communicate with us and us alone instead of whoever it is behind the scenes, and them going to Joe Blow and them having more information than us. Is anything set in stone? I don't think anything is. I think it's going to come down to communication."
Mickie James revealed that she is currenly on the sidelines with a broken nose, which happened when she faced Zelina Vega on RAW on September 21st, when they faced each other to be the #1 contender for the RAW Women’s Title. On her online show she said “It wasn’t like my nose was blasted across my face. It was more like a curve and I can’t breathe out the one side.”
Former WWE World Women's Champion and NWA World Women's Champion Jazz announced her retirement. Her last match was this past Sunday. When asked if this was an angle, Jazz replied she was not going to “Terry Funk it”. She went into her match over the weekend knowing it would be her last. “Honestly, truthfully, I have been having some issues with my knees and my back. Physically and mentally and emotionally, that’s why I had to forfeit the NWA title. I was having some issues. I figure I have two beautiful daughters and I have to focus on them right now,” Jazz explained. She is the wife of pro wrestler Rodney Mack.
An attempt by Jeff Jarrett to get a new trial in his suit against Anthem Sports was denied by Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw in U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Tennessee. PWInsider reported that after the first case was ruled a mistrial, Crenshaw said that due to COVID and that criminal trials take precedence, he has no ability to regularly schedule jury trials.
On October 8th, a grand jury in San Antonio, TX indicted Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan on charges of aggravated kidnapping stemming from an incident back in May of this year when he was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault. The victim had been in a relationship with Chucuan and he became angry with her. He destroyed her phone, tied her up, and assaulted her over a period of about 16 hours. When she was released she went to the police where the bruises on her face, arms, legs, and neck were noted. Chucuan is currently relased on a $50,000 bond and awaits trial. If convicted he would likely spend several years in prison. Chucuan is the nephew of Mil Mascaras and is best known as Alberto del Rio in WWE and Alberto el Patron in Impact Wrestling.
Tracy Smothers posted that he has been released from the hospital. “To everyone out there that checked on me, said prayers, or anything at all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. With all the craziness going on in the world I am humbled to see that people still care and look out for each other. They finally have my heart rate down and was discharged yesterday from Methodist Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. Thursday 10/15 I go back for a follow up at IU to meet with the cancer doctor to work out a game plan for the recurrence of my cancer. Its a heavy weight fight, I’m in round two of 15 rounds but I plan to come out victorious!! I don’t plan on striking out and I’m in it to win it. Its all about survival!!! Thanks again!!!”
It was announced last week that Terry Pantera has been cast in the movie "Time Girl".

Oklafan extends condolences to Big Smooth on the passing of his cousin Jennifer on September 30th.
Oklafan extends condolences to Karnage on the passing his grandmother on October 5th.
Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Lorraine Johnson, who passed away October 3rd at the age of 90. At the time of this writing, the cause of death was not announced. Johnson was the youngest of 5 girls and left the family farm in Red Wing, MN to join Billy Wolfe’s wrestling group in Columbus, OH. She quickly became a success, forming a team with Penny Banner based on their similar appearance. Johnson also won several Marilyn Monroe look-a-like contests. Johnson would compete nationally for many years, eventually settling in Texas, where she met and married Nick Roberts, himself a professional wrestler and later a promoter. When Roberts took over promoting Lubbock from the Funks, Johnson stepped away from wrestling and seemingly went out of her way not to talk about her time in the ring, devoting much of her life to the Lubbock Parks Department. The marriage to Roberts produced a son, Rebel, but more famously a daughter named Nickla Roberts, better known as Baby Doll. And Baby Doll’s marriage to Sam Houston produced a daughter named Samantha Starr, making Lorraine the earliest of 3 generations of women in the wrestling business. Johnson has 4 documented appearances in Oklahoma. The earliest was December 16, 1957 where she lost to Kay Noble in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match in Tulsa. The next was March 14, 1960, where she lost to Millie Stafford. Her third appearance saw her defend the NWA Central States Women’s Title against Laura Martinez on March 21st in Tulsa. And her final appearance in Oklahoma featured her tagging with Bull Brummell and losing to Lord Littlebrook & Judy Glover in a Mixed Tag Team Match in Tulsa.
Greg Oliver of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story on the passing of Lorraine Johnson, which you can read by clicking here.
Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Len Rossi, who passed away on October 9th from cancer. He was 91 years old. Rossi, whose real name was Len Rositano, grew up in Utica, NY and was encouraged to begin wrestling while working out at the YMCA. There was no wrestling program at his high school, so he continued to wrestle at the Y until he connected with promoter Ed Don George, who brought him into the professional wrestling world. Rossi, who shortened his birth name because a promoter said his real last name was too long to fit on a promotional poster, spent much of his early career as a journeyman competitor before arriving in Tennessee. He settled there because his son was about to start schoo. Rossi would go on to become one of the most popular stars in the 1960s, rivaling Jackie Fargo. Rossi was successful in both singles and tag team competition, capturing titles in both, including 14 reigns with the Mid-American version of the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Rossi initially made his name in Tennessee by forming a team with Dick Beyer, who would later go on to become famous as The Destroyer. But it was Rossi’s team with Bearcat Brown that broke records, as Rossi & Brown were the first babyface tag team that combined a white man and a black man together. Rossi’s time at the top of the Tennessee wrestling world was ended in 1972 when he suffered a broken arm, broken ribs, a broken ankle, and broken feet in an automobile accident. While he would return from those injuries and would go on to form a tag team with his son Joey Rossi, he would never be a top star again and ended his in-ring career in 1979. Rossi would then go on to open a health food store and become heavily involved in the health food industry for the next 40 years. Rossi has 4 documented appearances in Oklahoma, all for TSW. His first match was a draw against Don Kent on May 14, 1962 in Tulsa. He faced Dante the next week on May 21st in Tulsa, but no result of that match is known. The following week, he teamed with Ramon Torres and lost to The Red Devils on May 28 in Tulsa. His final appearance was a loss to Don Kent on June 18, 1962 in Tulsa.
Steve Johnson of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story on the passing of Len Rossi, which you can read by clicking here.
