NEWS
DK Publishing will be releasing a book called WWE Kicking Down Doors about WWE women's wrestling dating back to Wendi Richter, Chyna, and Lita to the modern group of stars like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Ronda Rousey, and the others. The book was scheduled for release May 19th.

MVP re-shared a video of him and Shad Gaspard emotionally reacting to Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship win from WrestleMania 35. MVP wrote “Shad Gaspard had a HUGE heart. He was like an annoying little brother at times. We often gave each other a hard time, but always with love! He always had a big smile on his face and was ready to share a laugh! I have had a LOT of friends and colleagues die. This one hurts different. We shared this incredible moment together. I was angry at him for sharing it. When this video went viral and people expressed their reactions to OUR reaction I realized Shad made the right call. I called him to apologize for cussing him out. We laughed. He recently sent me some of the screenplays he was working on. He had big goals. Big plans. His final act on this earth was to give his life to save his son's. A son, a husband, a father, a friend. A hero…”

The first match for the upcoming "NXT Takeover: In Your House" was announced last week on NXT on USA Network and will pit newcomer Karrion Kross against former NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa returned to NXT last night and confronted Kross following the backstage attack from a few weeks ago. He reminded Kross that NXT is his home and while Kross is a special talent, he’s just as special and then challenged him at Takeover. Kross and his girlfriend Scarlett kicked off NXT in a squash match against an enhancement talent by the name of Liam Gray. Takeover: In Your House takes place from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida on Sunday, June 7 and will be live exclusively on the WWE Network. This is the first Takeover event since the Portland one in February.

A. J. Styles is back in the house that "he built." It was announced Friday night that Styles has been traded back to the blue brand and will now be part of the SmackDown shows moving forward. Styles moved to RAW during the Superstar Shake-Up in April of last year after a very successful three-year stint on SmackDown where he held the WWE Title for a complete year. The former champ is now part of the Intercontinental Title Tournament and last week defeated his old rival Shinsuke Nakamura to advance to the semifinal match where he will face Elias. Since Styles was traded, another SmackDown Superstar will go the opposite way but it wasn't announced yet who that will be.

WWE’s YouTube channel added Seth Rollins vs. A. J. Styles from "Money in the Bank" 2019 and The Undertaker vs. Edge from "Judgment Day" 2008.

The WWE Universal Title will be defended at the upcoming "Backlash" pay-per-view as Braun Strowman goes not only against one, but two opponents. The match, set up Friday night on SmackDown, will see Strowman defending against former SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Miz and John Morrison in a handicap match. Strowman defeated The Miz on SmackDown and then John Morrison challenged the champ for the handicap match at "Backlash". The last handicap match that Strowman was involved in was at "Elimination Chamber" and lost the Intercontinental Title in a three-on-one handicap match which had Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro against him.

Wooooo! It looks like the Nature Boy Ric Flair is sticking around with WWE for the foreseeable future as the 16-time World champ has signed a new contract with the company. “Limousine Riding, Jet Flying, Styling And Profiling… Then, Now, Forever With @WWE! WOOOOO,” wrote Flair in a post on Twitter yesterday. He also included a photo of the final part of his contract where his signature part is. Since WCW closed up shop, Flair has pretty much spent his entire time with WWE apart from a few years between 2009 and 2012 where he went to TNA Wrestling. But in 2012 he returned to the company and remained there, appearing in several
different roles and doing cameo appearances. His last appearance on WWE television came during the segment of Triple H celebrating his 25th anniversary on Smackdown a few weeks ago when Flair called in via FaceTime…and cried! Meanwhile, WWE Network will air a WWE 24 episode on Ric Flair on Sunday, June 7 titled Ric Flair: The Final Farewell.

It was announced Wednesday on The Bump that a new WWE 24 special on WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair will premiere on the WWE Network next month. “WWE 24: The Final Farewell” will air on Sunday, June 7 after the WWE NXT “Takeover: In Your House” event goes off the air. It will premiere in the on-demand section earlier that day. It was also announced Wednesday that a special Takeover edition of The Bump will air on June 7 before the big event airs later that night.

Jim Cornette was anything but happy at the news that Becky Lynch got pregnant and ripped her a new one during the latest episode of his "Jim Cornette Experience" podcast. The legendary manager noted that you can't always be at the top of the business but you can pick and choose when you can have a baby. "Can she be 30? Well...still she’s got many more years before the f*cking easy bake oven gets shut off," Cornette remarked. "She can have all those problems...like a descended stomach and stretch marks and hemorrhoids and hormones problems and mood swings and all those other joys of motherhood later on when she ain't making a million dollars a year!" Cornette suggested that WWE should put pregnancy clauses in the women's contracts to avoid things like this happening in the future. "If I was Vince I’d be hot cause I’d sure be hot if it was my millions of dollars. This is not like an injury that couldn't have been prevented," Cornette continued. "This could have been controlled or timed. Except they obviously didn’t control it or time it, but somebody that young, that age that’s achieved that level of success...have a baby? The f*ck? Jesus Christ, I am gobsmacked!" Cornette said that Becky and Seth could have waited maybe three years and then "go have a f*cking baby." He was also critical of the way WWE handled the angle on "Monday Night RAW" when Lynch handed over the title to Asuka. Comparing Lynch to the female "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Cornette couldn't believe that she came out crying and sniffling like an insecure kid. "There’s a reason why The Undertaker didn’t ride off into the sunset and reveal he was really an insecure human until f*cking 30 years after he was the top guy in the f*cking business cause people are not only going to look at her the same way again," the controversial Cornette added. Instead of the angle that was presented on RAW, Cornette suggested that they could have done an injury angle where she wouldn't have made that "sappy, f*cking snot-inducing, wet-eyed f*cking statement" and ruin the gimmick and the character of the biggest female star. Cornette then continued to hammer the fact that Lynch is still young and had plenty of time left. "What would you do if your wife came home and said instead of making a million dollars next year, I'm going to basically be just a raging bitch for the next nine months and then give you more shit to worry about around the house," he concluded. This is not the first time that Cornette had something to say about a female WWE Superstar. Last week he said that Dana Brooke's face looks like it got caught on fire and was put out with an axe! Brooke replied to Cornette and told him to stop hiding behind a keyboard and go say it to her face, called him a mark, and told him to stop spreading hate.

Seth Rollins addressed the Jim Cornette controversy on his "After The Bell" podcast with Corey Graves this week. Earlier this week, Cornette went on a long, profanity-filled tirade against Becky Lynch for getting pregnant while she's at the top of her game. "I don't want to spend too much time because I don't wanna focus on it, but it hurts my feelings on a personal level because Jim Cornette is someone who is a legend in our industry and he's someone who I've personally worked with in Ring of Honor," Rollins explained. Rollins said that the comments - not only about Becky but women in general - caught him off guard and he lost respect for Cornette because of that. He said that a lot of people had already lost respect for Cornette but he kept holding on because of that personal connection between the two and he thought Jim would think twice before making some comments like that about his soon-to-be wife. Cornette even suggested that WWE should put pregnancy clauses in the women’s contracts to avoid things like this happening in the future. "On a grander scale, that mindset has to be eradicated because it's so disgusting," Rollins said of Cornette's thoughts on women. Rollins then continued saying that he can't even forgive Cornette for what he said and wanted to make it very clear that this is something that he's very proud of Becky and the courage it took to put her career on hold to embark on this journey.
