NEWS
There is one particular NXT star who isn’t a fan of Goldberg...and he’s quite vocal about it. Matt Riddle has kept it no secret he doesn’t like the former champ and had a ball when Goldberg knocked himself out in Saudi Arabia during his match against The Undertaker. Today, WWE cameras filmed the first encounter between the two and Riddle, who joined Pat McAfee on the WWE Watch Along show on YouTube for the Goldberg/Ziggler match, recounted the awkward encounter for everyone. Riddle said he was walking around backstage and saw Goldberg’s locker room and tried to get a peak in. “All of a sudden, wham, big shoulder. 300 pounds at least. I look up, it’s Bill Goldberg,” Riddle said. “He goes, ‘We got some talking to do!’ And I’m like, ‘Well we can talk anytime bro!’ He’s like, ‘yeah?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah!’ And I was like, ‘Alright, bro…anytime.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m not your bro!’ And I’m like, ‘Alright, bro. Take it easy,” Riddle continued as Titus O’Neil, Shayna Baszler, and McAfee started laughing. “And then he’s like, ‘Yeah, we’ll see. I’ll see ya later. And hey…it was a pleasure meeting you.’ And I go, ‘The
pleasure was all mine, bro.’ And then he goes, ‘I’m not your bro.’ And then I walked away, I had to come here!”

WWE has announced the first batch of WWE Hall of Famers that will be appearing on the premiere episode of Smackdown on FOX which is being marketed as the 20th Anniversary special. Those being advertised to appear include Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair and Sting. "SmackDown has been delivering action-packed, family-friendly programming for two decades, and we look forward to entertaining generations to come as we begin this next chapter on FOX," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman & CEO. "Since we announced our five-year agreement last June, we have been eagerly counting down the days to the launch of SmackDown Live on FOX Sports," said Eric Shanks, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Producer of FOX Sports. "We couldn’t be more excited and are pulling out all of the stops to commemorate SmackDown’s 20th anniversary celebration."

Starrcast today announced that FITE TV will be airing over 20 hours of Starrcast III shows for only $39.99 during the AEW All Out weekend later this month. Fans who pre-order will also receive access to content from Starrcast I and II. The fan interactive event made headlines last month when Chicago's own CM Punk was announced as the headliner of the show. Starrcast III will culminate with a rare on-stage interview with the former WWE champion. "The goal of every Starrcast is to provide wrestling fans with experiences that they can’t get anywhere else. Getting CM Punk on-stage for a one-time only interview certainly fits the bill,” said Starrcast creator and organizer Conrad Thompson. “Punk has said that he only does one or two of these type of events a year, so we are very honored and excited to have him. Giving him a live microphone and a platform to tell his story is going to be a can’t miss event.” Starrcast III will run from Thursday, August 29 through Sunday, September 1 and will take place at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg, Chicago. “Chicago has turned into the professional wrestling capital in the United States. Last year, at the first Starrcast, we had nearly 11,000 attendees come to a first-time fan fest,” added Thompson. “This year, we return with another stacked line-up and we are looking to over-deliver for both the people in attendance, and for those watching worldwide on FITE. We are also excited to offer all of the Starrcast I and Starrcast II content to those who purchase this year’s event. In total, we are giving fans over-50 shows and over-60 hours of content for $39.99.” Talent scheduled to appear includes legends such as Mick Foley, Sting, Scott Hall, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jimmy Hart, Madusa, Diamond Dallas Page and Tony Schiavone, along with some of the biggest names in wrestling today like Jon Moxley, Brandi Rhodes and The Young Bucks.

Ricky Starks has signed with the NWA.

The March 17, 1984 major show at the Greensboro Coliseum, Boogie Man Jam, has been added to the WWE Network. The show features a 60:00 Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat NWA title match before 13,000 fans, plus Jimmy Valiant put up his hair against the mask of The Assassin, Dick Slater vs. Greg Valentine for the U.S. title, Dory Funk Jr. vs. Tully Blanchard, Ernie Ladd vs. Rufus Jones, Bob Orton Jr. & Don Kernodle vs. Wahoo McDaniel & Mark Youngblood and Angelo Mosca & Angelo Mosca Jr. & JYD vs. Ivan Koloff & Great Kabuki & Gary Hart.

Appearing on the ESPN 97.5 radio show The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore, former Universal champion Bill Goldberg discussed the match he had with The Undertaker at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. Goldberg said he's not there to make any excuses and the match was the "perfect storm of crappiness" for him. The reason why he took the match in the first place was because he labeled it as the opportunity of a lifetime to wrestle the Undertaker, someone who he never crossed paths with. He admitted that going into the match, there were two things he could have done...either get in really good shape or try to get as big as possible so he doesn't look that old. So he chose to get in good shape and lose weight. Goldberg said that 50% of the time that he did that ring post spot which knocked him out always ended up bad for him. "That's a spot that a couple of the bookers came up to me and said...well, we called it!" You can hear the whole story at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
