Alberto del Rio and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. have just announced the start up of their new wrestling promotion named Nacion Lucha Libre. They already have a television deal lined up in Mexico and some major talent signed, both Mexican and international. Alberto and Chavo were the main voices at the Nacion Lucha Libre press conference on June 11 to usher in a new era of lucha libre. Hijo del Fantasma (aka King Cuerno), Mesias (aka Mil Muertes), La Mascara, and Sexy Star were some of the bigger names in attendance. They also played video promos from MVP, Carlito, Dr. Wagner Jr., and Ricardo Rodriguez. Other major names on the roster include Fenix, Pentagon, LAX, Taurus, Laredo Kid, Daga, Flamita, Puma King, Rey Horus (aka El Dragon Azteca Jr.), Bram, and Thunder Rosa (aka Kobra Moon). Alberto teased that some current WWE wrestlers will be on board soon. However, he didn’t name anyone since they are currently still employed by WWE.

When asked by TMZ if The Undertaker and Goldberg should retire, John Cena said an individual’s career is up to that individual and noted that he’s had that same conversation with himself. Cena added that he feels good.

The NWA uploaded a Dusty Rhodes vs. Gino Hernandez match from Houston Wrestling.

Mick Foley continues to be one of wrestling's biggest and most generous individuals as he took Ashley Massaro's daughter college fund to over $89,000 with an additional $31,307 donation. The donation came from all profits of his popular Cactus Jack "Wanted Dead or Alive" t-shirt which he sold through ProWrestlingTees.com for $24.99 or $39.99 with an autograph. "I will be meeting with Ashley’s mom and daughter tomorrow, and would LOVE to hit our $100,000 goal by then. WE ARE JUST 11K AWAY! So I will be matching every donation, dollar for dollar, until we reach that goal," Foley added. He already offered to meet anyone in the United States who donates $5,000 or $10,000 for those living outside the United States at his own expense. The GoFundMe campaign which was started by Ashley's former co-workers The Squared Circle Sisters is now at $89,062 a grand or so away from it's $100,000 goal. You can contribute by going to https://www.gofundme.com/AshleyMassarosDaughterEducationalFund

On his weekly YouTube video, Sammy Guevara explained he missed a show in Monterrey because the company AAA works with for flights didn’t get him or the other foreigners their flights in time. This would explain Killer Kross’ absence as well. Guevara has his flight info for this weekend’s show so he will be coming. On +LuchaTV’s podcast, Jose Manuel Guillen said
Guevara actually missed the show due to losing his passport, and Guevara has responded with a photo of his passport and a one finger salute.

MLW had its biggest first day of ticket sales for the upcoming show in Dallas featuring Marshall & Ross Von Erich.

“YO ASHLEY…WE DID IT!” That was the tweet Mick Foley sent out after the GoFundMe campaign to help launch a college fund for Ashley Massaro’s daughter Lexi hit the goal of
$100,000. “May this fund for your daughter Lexi assure that your magnificent light will continue to shine. Thanks to everyone – the 2,800 who donated, and countless others who created
awareness – for making this happen. My heart is full,” Foley added. Foley was a major part of the fundraising effort, donating thousands of dollars from his own pocket, donating all profits from his Cactus Jack t-shirts, and then matching dollar for dollar the last $11,000 needed to reach the goal. “Mick Foley is truly a living, walking, ANGEL on earth,” Torrie Wilson wrote. “Mick raised a TON of money to help us reach our goal, he gave up his time, AND he donated a huge amount himself. It’s such an honor to know you Mick. And an honor to know all of my squared circle sisters.” Wilson was one of the people behind the creation of the fundraiser.

In an interview on the Wrestling Perspective podcast as reported by ProWrestlingSheet.com, Impact Wrestling’s Killer Kross explained why he asked for his release from the company after they did not want to give him a raise. Kross, the real-life partner of Scarlett Bordeaux, said that
when he asked to be paid as much as others similar in his position in a new deal, Impact’s management told him “to get another job” instead and then refused his release. “It’s just different when you have people to take care of, circumstances change in life,” Kross said. He added that he struggles to make ends meet and to be told to get a second job is “fu**ed up.”
Kross said he is okay if Impact doesn’t think he is worth that much and he is ready to prove he’s worth that and more somewhere else. “I wasn’t asking for anything that was honestly unreasonable. I really wasn’t,” Kross continued. His girlfriend also asked to be let go from the company but both remain part of tapings as of now.

Ric Flair and Ron Simmons were being interviewed Friday for an A&E documentary on Booker T according to Mike Johnson.
