NEWS
Jerry Lawler was on Cerrito Live Sunday and said he would be announcing the Styles vs. Orton match and that Jimmy Valiant would be the first guest on the new season of Classic Memphis Wrestling that debuts next weekend.

Former WWE Superstars Shad Gaspard of Cryme Tyme and MVP watched Kofi Kingston winning the WWE title in a bar with other fans and cried together on the historic occasion. A video uploaded on Twitter by Gaspard shows the moment that Kofi hits the Trouble in Paradise finisher on Bryan, covering him for the three count. It was then when both of them were overcome with emotion, with MVP trying his best not to cry but eventually letting it all out after Gaspard hugged him.. "So proud and happy to share this moment with one of my brothas," Gaspard wrote. In an earlier tweet after Kofi won, MVP wrote, "A black man, born in Africa, is the current WWE champion. This just happened." Kofi became the second black WWE champion following The Rock, who identifies himself both as black and Samoan, and became also the first African-born WWE champion. You can see the video at https://w-o.it/2P7y6l3.

A former TNA Wrestling duo was reunited in a dark match prior to Tuesday night's SmackDown in Brooklyn, New York. Before SmackDown's post-WrestleMania episode got underway, Luke Harper defeated EC3 in a dark match. EC3 was accompanied by Drake Maverick, who was formerly known as Rockstar Spud in TNA. They were both allies and rivals together during their time in the promotion. Dixie Carter tweeted about the pairing: "What a fantastic, 'original' idea!! Those two are [money] together.... @therealec3 @WWEMaverick #SDLive @wwe" EC3 should officially be assigned to a brand in next week's Superstar Shakeup. Maverick is the on-screen general manager of 205 Live and managed AOP on Raw prior to Akam being out of action with a knee injury. Maverick has accompanied Rezar during matches on Main Event since then.

WWE Network News revealed that Ted DiBiase vs. Tom Magee from a December 12, 1988 Wrestling Challenge taping will be added to the Network’s Hidden Gems section tomorrow. WWE Network News also reported that more episodes of Mid South Wrestling will be uploaded to the Network on Monday.

The Andre the Giant documentary that was on HBO will be released soon on the WWE Network.

Inside the Ropes announced that The Undertaker won’t be able to participate in the Q&A portion of their Rise of the Taker tour shows. Undertaker will still be taking part in meet and greets, with Mick Foley doing the Q&A and talking about Undertaker and their feud. The Rise of the Taker show that was scheduled to take place in Manchester, England on May 2 has also been moved to April 29.

Beth Phoenix showed her support for Nia Jax after Jax worked through WrestleMania while needing surgery to repair both of her ACLs: “Hey @NiaJaxWWE ...wishing you all the best on your knee surgeries and recovery. Working through one injury let alone two for so long is one of the toughest things a superstar can do. Much respect. Heal up soon. We’ll all be waiting…”

A.J. Styles said that his injury is a sprained SI joint which has led to pinched nerve endings and a lot of pain. He said that hopefully he won't take too long to heal and will be back in action. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
