Joey Ryan commented on becoming a free agent, writing on Twitter: “It’s Official. I am now a free agent. Free from any contracts. Free from any bosses. Free from any restrictions. The last few years of my career haven’t been without highlights (being featured in many major media outlets, becoming a top seller on Pro Wrestling Tees, shocking the world at All In, Main Eventing the Cow Palace, a role on GLOW, the growth of Bar Wrestling) but now it honestly feels like I have a new lease on my direction and where I’m going in pro wrestling. Most of my accomplishments have been fan driven due to the overwhelming support I have received so I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the fans who have accompanied me on this journey so far and hope you will continue on the adventure.”
Impact World Champion Johnny Impact says that he is refusing to compete on Team Impact at United We Stand in Rahway, New Jersey on April 4. Instead, he will compete in the Ultimate X match. A future X Division title shot is on the line during the match.
March 29 marked the last day that Jim Ross will be on the WWE books as from tomorrow, the Hall of Famer will be a free agent. Ross confirmed earlier this month that he spoke to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and mutually agreed to part ways once his current deal is up. Ross signed a two year contract in 2017 after his wife passed away but last year he was only used twice and he feels that he still has a lot to give and needs to get out of the house and be around people more often. During his Ross Report podcast this week, Ross added that some sort of a deal with AEW will be finalized in the next few days and said that “life is good” at the moment. Ross was highly expected to join the brand new promotion a fewmonths ago but he only confirmed his negotiations with them in an appearance on ESPN last week. JR concluded that he can contribute in more ways than one to All Elite Wrestling, by either doing play-by-play, or even in a behind-the-scenes role but admitted that those details are still being discussed. Ross spent a total of 26 years working during various stints with the company.

Sting will no longer be at WrestleCon. This is due to a change in his WWE schedule for WrestleMania week. Refunds will be issued to those that already bought tickets to see him.
26 competitors were added to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, joining Braun Strowman and SNL’s Colin Jost and Michael Che who were already announced. Matt Hardy, who won last year’s battle royal, is back in it while Jeff Hardy, who missed last year’s WrestleMania due to injury, is also part of the battle royal. The new additions consist of Ali, Andrade, Apollo Crews, Bo Dallas, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Curtis Axel, EC3, Gran Metalik, Heath Slater, Jeff Hardy, Jinder Mahal, Kalisto, Karl Anderson, Konnor, Lince Dorado, Luke Gallows, Matt Hardy, No Way Jose, Otis, Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, Titus O’Neil, Tucker, Tyler Breeze, and Viktor. This is the sixth annual of the battle royal, created to honor the memory of WWE Hall of Famer Andre The Giant. Previous winners include Cesaro, Big Show, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, and Matt Hardy.
The WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal was officially announced with just over a week to go for the event. 13 Superstars have been confirmed for this match so far, including Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Nikki Cross, Sonya Deville, Zelina Vega, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Lana, Naomi, Ruby Riott, Asuka, Mandy Rose, and Sarah Logan. The women's battle royal was added to the WrestleMania card last year and was originally titled the Fabulous Moolah Battle Royal, just like the men have the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. But after thousands of complaints due to Moolah not having the best history, WWE opted to drop the name and not tie it to a former star. Naomi was the inaugural winner of this battle royal and has a chance to defend that trophy this year as well. This is the 14th match on the WrestleMania 35 card and the third match involving the women. The Smackdown Women's title will not be defended this year since Charlotte is already in the main event for the Raw Women's title.
Jim Ross tweeted that Friday was the final day of his WWE contract: “Big day...it’s the final day of my contract with @WWE after 26 years. A WWE camera crew arriving at my home today to record for an @undertaker documentary. I’m honored to be a part of it. Great way to exit.”
