NEWS
Brent Albright defeated Claudio Castagnoli on August 12th in the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament at the NWA Fanfest in Charlotte, NC. Albright will now face the winner of the other semi-final match pitting Adam Pearce vs. Bryan Danielson. The Pearce-Danielson match takes place on August 18th in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The final match will take place September 1st in Puerto Rico. If Albright wins the NWA World Title, he will become the 3rd native Oklahoman to win a pro wrestling world title following Jack Brisco and Goldberg.

WWE has delayed the release of the "Triumph & Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling" DVD from it's August release until this fall. The title has also been removed from most websites including Amazon.com.

The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young have been booked for Summerslam.

Jake Hager and Victoria Crawford were recently transferred from Ohio Valley Wrestling to Florida Championship Wrestling in Tampa, FL. WWE is also sending Maryse Ouellet, Steve Lewington, and Chet the Jett to Tampa.

Lacey Von Erich, daughter of Kerry Von Erich, has been signed by WWE according to her MySpace (MySpace.com/SexyMama717). On the site she posted "Just signed with WWE!! Following daddy's foot steps...! Wish me luck!!"

Jeff Jarrett has been in the center of the controversy regarding suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones of the Tennessee Titans. Jarrett has been training Jones and said he is very coachable and one of the best athletes he had ever seen. Jones' manager said that Jones would not be wrestling because it would be in violation of his NFL contract with the Titans, Jarrett said he would be wrestling in a tag team match. The Titans and the NFL and TNA went to court regarding the situation and the judge ruled that Jones will not wrestle, have physical contact of any kind or be involved in any other action that puts him at risk of injury, under terms of an agreement reached late Friday between the suspended cornerback and the Titans. At the "Hard Justice" pay-per-view, Jones was interviewed by Mike Tenay which was interrupted by the returning Ron Killings. As Killings was about to get in the ring he was escorted from ringside by police. Later, it was shown on TV that Jones was laid out with security attending to him and he had a cut over his right eye.

TNA contacted Ken Shamrock to team with Rick Steiner against Team 3D at the "Slammiversary" pay-per-view event. Shamrock came close to accepting, but the spot went to Road Warrior Animal.

Many members of the TNA roster are confused as to why the interview segment between The Voo Kin Mafia (Kip James & B. G. James), The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner) and Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) went the way it did. Many in the back are angered that during that segment they put over the WWE Tag Titles, the WCW Tag Titles, and the ECW Tag Titles and not one time during the course of the segment did they mention the NWA Tag Titles or the TNA Tag Titles. In fact, TNA wasn't mentioned at all during the promo. This action made some of the talent uneasy because it made TNA seem insignificant. It gave many an insight to the way TNA views itself and perhaps even more unsettling is that they are more interested in trying to promote and build their company up using old "name" talent than promoting their own X Division which is what made TNA a force to begin with. It also alarmed some in the back that the references made during their promos took place 7-10 years ago devaluing the name sake of the talent bragging about their accomplishments. It would be similar to if someone like Joe Montana cutting down the accomplishments of Dan Marino during their run in the NFL while they are both playing Arena Football.

Roddy Piper will be a villain character in the new G.I. Joe toy line.

The Wrestling Fan Fest stuff at the Cow Palace group will be selling autographed 8x10s of Don Frye, Bill Goldberg & Steve Austin, Roddy Piper, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage and Kevin Nash at WrestleFanFestStore.com. There is also info on an ROH after party at [url=http://www.fanaticsf.com]FanaticsSF.com. They are billing an MMA show headlined by Jake Shields, former boxer Mia St. John and the son of Dog the Bounty Hunter, as well as a live wrestling show to be announced by Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko, and the Roddy Piper One Man Show.

A video of WWE Hall of Famer Greg Valentine appearing at the backyard fed BCWA has been posted at http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=F3KxL09BKp4
