Jon "Bones" Jones apparent failure of a a June 16 drug test has seen him removed from Saturday night's UFC200 event in Las Vegas is one of the most disturbing and unfortunate matters iof this kind in sports in years. Jones was in the main event of the biggest event in UFC history so Bones test failure will unnecessarily cost UFC tons of money, Bones a major pay day and notwithstanding his opponent Daniel Cromier an opportunity to compete against his biggest rival on the biggest event in MMA history. I feel for DC who is one of the nicest, classiest athletes that I have personally met and a honorable man who deserves better. Hopefully, DC will be paid for his efforts and costs preparing for the fight, his camp expenses, and something significant for his canceled fight.

I'm hopeful that UFC will take care of Cromier financially for this devastating loss of income.

Jones, on the other hand, has to be held accountable for his actions and if he is eventually found to have used PED's then he will likely be suspended for two years which may well end his UFC career, or at least jeopardize it, for one of the greatest athletes to ever compete in the octagon simply because he was negligent and/or ignorant for trying to gain an unfair advantage or simply being a victim of not paying attention.

Is this a matter of entitlement, flawed character, or just a bad seed who feels that he is above the rules? Or could it be the negligence of his camp for not more closely evaluating what 'supplements' that Bones was taking.

This entire business of ingesting supplements by many athletes, including in pro wrestling, who then say that they did not know the supplements that they were taking contained illegal elements is getting old and becoming a terribly lame excuse. The fascination with 'supplements' is borderline narcissistic and unnecessary IMO.

It's these talents JOB to know what they are putting their bodies. End of story.

Brock Lesnar is now in the main event of UFC 200 vs Mark Hunt in a three rounder. Lesnar is the underdog versus the hard hitting Hunt who will be looking to KO Lesnar earl;y and definitely Saturday night. The first 60 seconds of the fight are crucial for both heavyweights and this one will end long before the end of the third round.

Can you imagine where UFC would be today if they had not signed Lesnar to return to the Octagon for this event?

If he's healthy, apparently Lesnar will face Randy Orton in a high level, main event bout at Summer Slam in August for WWE. Don't overreact to Orton's lingering issues with shoulder issues as it relates to Lesnar's suplexes as that is only one phase of Brock's arsenal and against Orton the game plan might change to sme degree but the two men who we signed back in the day will have a helluva Summer Slam bout.

Talk across the internet regarding 'Final Deletion' featuring the Hardy Boys Tuesday night on TNA Impact Wrestling on Pop TV which earned the beleaguered company their biggest TV rating on Pop. The 18 minute, pre taped vignette was certainly unique, novel approach to what we are accustomed to seeing on contemporary, pro wresting TV.

Hopefully this presentation will not lead to every wrestling company in the land attempting to do similar, copy cat productions which will take the product farther away from a fundamentally sound in ring product than it already is.

At the end of the day I remain proud of Matt Hardy for hatching this concept and the TNA TV crew for capturing it and the editing which I thought was compelling. Loved the on going music bed throughout the vignette plus Jeff Hardy is still one of the most unique athletes in the entire business and the handle of "The Unique Enigma" that I hung on Jeff years ago still is applicable.

Some 'experts' are panning WWE for the low, RAW TV rating on July 4th but many fail to mention that the show was also the highest rated broadcast on all of cable TV on the historically low viewing night of TV on the holiday.

Off topic...does anyone else feel that many of today's bouts that end via disqualification or count out are generally more lame than at any other time ever in pro wrestling? The more educated and knowledgeable fans generally don't buy these endings and bookers need to be aware of this issue and be more creative when it comes to structuring finishes.

Plus, talents need to continue to refine their in ring skills as it relates to 'losing effectively' and it becomes the 'art form' that it used to be. We've all seen talents lose matches over the years but still 'get over' because ot the execution. Many wrestlers put too much stock in winning while it should always be about their overall performance.

Obviously, winning is what resonates to most fans so to say that someone on a 'losing steak' in pro wrestling is fine over the long haul isn't accurate.
