WWE unveiled the bronze life-size statue of Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes at Axxess last week, similar to what they did last year for The Ultimate Warrior. Dustin Rhodes, Cody Rhodes, and Eden Styles were present for the unveiling of the statue which was done in front of the NXT roster, a roster which Dusty often described as his kids. ?I looked to him as a mentor and an inspiration and a creative force behind the scenes. I cannot put into words how much he meant to me and how much he meant to this industry,? said Triple H who hosted the unveiling. Dustin, who portrays the character of Goldust, said that it was a tough year for their family and thanked the fans for their support. ?Right now, I can guarantee you Dad is in Heaven getting funky like a monkey with the angels, looking down, very proud of all this,? he said.
WWE welcomed 10 new members into their Hall of Fame on Saturday night in front of a sell-out crowd at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas, TX. Kicking things off were the APA, who inducted The Godfather. JBL had some funny lines and was trying to recount some stories of the three of them but Simmons kept cutting him off because it wasn?t a smart idea. The Godfather came out and did his usual entrance shtick. He thanked the fans for everything and urged the current crop of Superstars to enjoy it because time doesn?t roll back. He said The Godfather and Charles Wright are the same person pretty much and invited everyone to Las Vegas to his strip club to share some stories because if he does it there he will get a lot of people in trouble. Vader came out next to talk about his good friend Stan Hansen. He recounts a story when Hansen broke his nose before he even stepped in the ring and then popped his eye from his socket. Stan Hansen first thanked Vader and then JBL for keeping his name out there during commentary. He went over some stories about Bob Backlund, Terry Funk, and breaking Bruno Sammartino?s neck. He lost the train of thought at one point and had to restart. The Dudley Boyz were next and had a hilarious exchange, first Bubba talking about their good friend Jacqueline and when D-Von was about to start, Bubba cut him off and said he should only say ?Testify!? Devon talked how cheap Jackie was on the road and sleeping at appropriate times to avoid paying tolls and even ?forgetting? her wallet when going to eat. The former WWE Women?s Champion kept her talk short and thanked Lita, Trish Stratus, Sable, Ivory, Molly Holly, Victoria, and Terri Runnels. The New Day came out and did the best intro speech and some lines which had some sexual innuendo to them including how The Freebirds were a great well-oiled machine as a unit, with Big E telling them that his unit is always oiled. Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin then came out and did an awesome speech but the two almost needed oxygen after dancing for a while with their intro. They did some stories and then invited Ray Gordy and Buddy Roberts, Jr., the sons of their late tag team partners. Both thanked WWE for the honor. After the kids left, the Freebirds continued with awesome stories and even invited Kevin Von Erich to a big pop. Von Erich said that The Freebirds were brothers because they loved each other, just like ?The New Gay Guys? are brothers. "The Doctor of Style", Slick came out for The Big Boss Man induction. He thought he was in a church and told fans to yell ?Amen? and told them he?s going to collect some money. He said heavens gained a guardian angel when Ray Traylor passed away. His two daughters and his wife came out to accept the honor on his behalf. One of the daughters talked about how she avoided talking about her father?s work at school because there were some stuff going on which was embarrassing for them, like having his face shoved in Rikishi?s ass, and serving the dog Pepper to Al Snow. John Cena was out for his induction of Snoop Dogg. Cena kept his speech short and said when he says ?Hi? to Snoop it doesn?t always mean ?Hello!? He pointed out the fact that Snoop has made more "WrestleMania" appearances than 10 of the WWE Superstars that were on Sunday's card. He called WWE Snoop?s home and there?s always interesting drug test results the next day after he leaves. Snoop came out and was very respectful and came out as a genuine fan who really loves WWE. He gave a shout out to his cousin Sasha Banks and said how proud he was of her. He closed his speech with a rap, something that he does ?part time at home.? Dana Warrior presented Joan Lunden with the Warrior Award for her public work in the fight against breast cancer. Lunden thanked WWE fans and called them the best fans in the world. Ric Flair was up next for the main event. It didn?t take long for him to cry and thanked the McMahon family for the way they kept honoring Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper after they passed. He had a shout out for his daughter Charlotte, and then started talking about Sting. Sting got a big ovation and had a terrific speech, first talking about how he and Warrior broke in the business. He said that he had some great highlights in WCW, including teaming with Robocop and the White Castle of Fear Match with Vader. He told a story how one time when the nWo cleaned house and he and Nash were down in the ring, Nash crawled next to Sting and asked him if he can spoon him. He thanked God, his family, and his children and said that he finally got to wrestle at a WrestleMania. He pointed out Road Dogg, Michael Hayes, and Jim Ross for their fantastic advice throughout the years and then announced his retirement.
As part of "ESPN SportsCenter On The Road", Jonathan Coachman welcomed Sting on the show live from AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. Coach asked Sting what was it like to be inducted in the Hall of Fame on Saturday and then announcing his retirement. He said it was a very difficult moment as the crowd kept chanting ?one more match? and he wanted to have that one more match but he knows it?s time to retire due to several different reasons. The discussion turned to his final match, against Seth Rollins at "Night of Champions". He said the injury happened after a whiplash and actually felt it on two different occasions. The first time he felt numbness and shock down his fingers and then the second time his legs completely lost control and explained the technical terms of his injury. Coach talked about "WrestleMania 31" and how cool it was to see him there. Sting said he wrestled in so many big arenas and in front of thousands of people but there is nothing like "WrestleMania". Before he went out, Stephanie McMahon told him to just ?take it all in? and described it as a great experience and something he will never ever forget. Sting then mentioned Ric Flair and how he put him on the map when he didn?t have to. He said the Nature Boy means everything to him and pretty much made his career. Before wrapping things up, Sting went over how he met Vince McMahon for the first time. He said he had phone conversations with him over the years but the night he made his debut at the "Survivor Series", he was stuck in a bus to keep him hidden and then came out a few minutes before it was his time to show up. Vince told him that it was good to have him there and then knocked him for having grey facial hair.
Goldberg was rumored to return to WWE at WrestleMania 32 but obviously did not. He posted on Twitter "Never in the cards to show up tonight but I refused to spoil it for everyone by commenting.....thank you all for giving a shit".

WWE announced last week that its new original WWE Network series titled "Holy Foley", starring Mick Foley and his daughter Noelle. The series will be produced by Trooper Entertainment in association with Lionsgate and this 10-episode, 30-minute family reality series is slated to premiere in August 2016. "I am excited to give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the Foley family life," said Mick Foley. "Holy Foley" will be filled with surprises, lots of drama and moments that will make you laugh out loud. The synopsis for the show reads, "At the Foley household on suburban Long Island, Mick Foley simply sees himself as a stand-up comedian and Santa-loving dad to his family of five, including wife Colette, sons Dewey, Mickey and Hughie, and daughter Noelle, with whom he shares a picture-perfect, father-daughter relationship. However, unbeknownst to Mick, Noelle has decided she wants to follow in her father?s footsteps, and has been secretly training to join WWE. Just when Mick thought he was out of the ring, Noelle is leading the charge to pull him back in. As if Noelle?s aspirations weren?t enough, Dewey, Mick?s oldest son, recently landed his dream job as a writer?s assistant on the WWE creative team. In 'Holy Foley', real-life antics and laugh-out-loud moments will unfold as cameras follow two generations of Foleys trying to make it in life, and at WWE."
Charlotte and her father Ric Flair appeared on ?SI Now? with Maggie Gray last week. During the interview, Flair talks about how big of a Cleveland Cavaliers fan he is, and he recalled meeting Kevin Love for the first time: ?I am the Cavaliers? biggest fan. I met Kevin Love for the first time last year in the playoffs. And the first thing he said was, ?I?m a huge fan of yours, but I love your daughter.' He?s single, he makes a lot of money, he?s a man,? Flair said of Love. ?I think he?s fantastic, he?s a good guy.?
