Greetings everybody and thanks for paying us a visit here on our site. Tickets for our RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross & Friends Shows at the House of Blues Dallas during Wrestlemania Texas weekend are still available starting at only $20 at ticketmaster.com. All the VIP tickets are sold out but we hae plenty of great seats still available for our three shows that will each feature a different surprise guest. Great stories, Q&A'S and much more will entertain you in a superb venue with superior food and beverages that's only a short few blocks walk from the American Airlines Center where WWE will present the WWE HOF Ceremony and Monday Night Raw. We will do a show, 4-6 pm, before the HOF event on Saturday and one after the event starting at 11 pm. Really excited to have a post Monday Night RAW show @HOBDallas starting at 11 pm on April 4 and bringing a fitting end to what will be a great weekend for all the travelers who will be flying back to their homes on Tuesday from Dallas. Visit ticketmaster.com today and get your tickets starting at $20.
WWE will apparently start their tournament tonight (Monday) to determine who will become the new, WWE Worlds Champion on the cusp of Seth Rollins needing reconstructive knee surgery to repair his ACL and MCL. Dr. James Andrews will oversee the surgery that will apparently take place Tuesday.
The key to this tournament will be making sure that all the top stars that can be made available are in the tournament because in all reality who would NOT want to be the next WWE Title holder? With that said I'd leave John Cena off and perhaps even the Undertaker even though the Deadman would be an intriguing entrant. Obviously and unfortunately Randy Orton will not be in the tourney due to a shoulder issue and one has to wonder if the Authority does not 'invite' Brock Lesnar to compete in it as well.
Lesnar being spurned in the tournament is a big story and that would mean that Lesnar would have to enter and win the Royal Rumble to earn a shot at the new champ at WrestleMania Texas in April. Just to make it interesting the Authority could demand that Lesnar enter the Rumble match #1 to increase the odds of the Beast Incarnate not prevailing to face what I'd suggest would be the new, 'Corporate Champion' in April at WM32. No talent has enough discernable villain heat to sustain them without the rub from the Authority who has the power to stack the deck against any challenger in a variety of ways.
Seems to me that if Lesnar was faced with additional and seemingly insurmountable odds in a 'must win' scenario at WrestleMania Texas that fans would engage that concept and support Lesnar in his quest to leave AT&T Stadium with WWE gold. It would have to be all or nothing and if Brock did not win the title his days of fighting for the WWE Title would be history and could be seen as a manipulative way for the Authority to rid themselves of Lesnar and Heyman.
No matter what is done in the tournament and because the entire presentation is so subjective, it seems likely that no matter what WWE does to address Rollins untimely injury that they will be damned if they do and damned if they don't because so many die hard fans have a definitive view on how all this must go down where, as I've said repeatedly, there are several ways to skin this cat, so to speak.
I'd love to see the talents take these matches extremely seriously and approach their matches with great focus considering that they'll be competing to become the top guy in WWE as the WWE Champion. This is also an opportunity for a new start ala a 16th seed i n arch Madness to get hot at the right time and shock the world by winning the WWE Title only to become the #1 enemy of the Authority who wants a champion that they control.
Great feedback on our podcast with Bob Backlund and we really appreciate everyone's input and support. I also addressed the Mark Bagwell's statements on the @steveaustinBSR podcast about me 'ruining' his wrestling career which is both erroneous and essentially absurd. I will not be devoting any more time to this matter as it's already been given more attention than it merits. I'm sorry that Bagwell feels like he does but I had no agenda to future him from WWE and those mandates came from above and I simply did my job. Obviously I never relished terminating talent and wish it could have ended differently for Mark. I hold no ills will towards him as I learned long ago that carrying those negative thoughts around for years isn't healthy.
Tuesday night a new, Ross Report Podcast drops at podcastone.co and iTunes with my special guest The Monster Abyss from TNA Impact Wrestling. It's an excellent conversation with a very talented big man who the opportunity to face the Undertaker at a WrestleMania but stayed loyal to his 'team' TNA. You will really like this podcast and can download for FREE and subscribe for FREE @iTunes and never miss a show. The Abyss show will drop Tuesday night at 9 ET. You can also listen to our podcasts at podcastone.com and here on the homepage of our site.
Check out my story on the 18th Anniversary of the Montreal Screw Job at foxsports.com that was posted this morning. I address some of the common misconceptions of the controversial event. It's hard to believe that it's been damn near twenty years since that fateful night before over 20,000 fans in the Molson Center that affected multiple lives.
Will be heading to Waco, Texas this week to watch the nationally televised Big !2 Showdown, IE a Texas Death Match, between my Oklahoma Sooners and the mighty Baylor Bears Saturday at 7 CT on ABC.
Getting ready to attack the Q&A's on our site later today and will let you know on Twitter @JRsBBQ ASAP.
Appreciate all the fans who enjoyed our work in January in Tokyo for Wrestle Kingdom 9 and I'd love to do it this year but I'm under the impression that isn't happening even though we're pushing for it to. It's not a money issue for me as much as just being able to get back to ringside and to call some great pro wrestling matches.
Yes, I still the 'itch' to put the headsets back on and call some rasslin.
Have a great and be sure and visit www.wweshop.com and www.americansoda.co.uk to order JR's products one for the holidays. Also many of the @InglesAdvantage Markets in the southeast are now carrying JR's BBQ Sauces, Chipotle Ketchup and Main Jalapeno Honey Mustard.
