NEWS
Last Monday?s episode of "WWE Monday Night RAW", the final show before "Night of Champions" with Sting?s first-ever regular WWE TV matches, drew 3.398 million viewers. This is up a bit from last week?s 3.385 million viewers. For that week?s show, the first hour drew 3.290 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.539 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.363 million viewers. RAW was #3 for the night on cable behind the NFL?s first Monday Night Football games of the season and SportsCenter in the 18-49 demographic and #2 for the night in viewership, also behind the NFL games which drew 14.330 million viewers and 13.560 million viewers.

Kiara Grindrod, the seven year old who was featured on RAW last Monday night along with her dad during one of the pediatric cancer month segments, got to meet John Cena and Sting after RAW went off the air. Grindrod got the best birthday gift ever as last Friday when she was told she was cancer free. She was being treated at the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, the same place where last week Dolph Ziggler, Stephanie McMahon, The Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki Bella), and Alicia Fox visited to meet the kids. Cena told the crowd that they had an amazing lady in the crowd who fought a hard battle and she won. At that time, the crowd started chanting ?Yes! Yes!? ?On behalf of Sting, myself and every person behind that screen, we sincerely want to thank you for being our guest tonight, for being an inspiration to not only us in the ring, but every single person outside the ring around the world,? Cena told Kiara. Cena and Sting then walked over to Kiara and her family and gave her hugs and Cena gave her his armband and Sting gave her his glove with the crowd making the experience a more memorable one by chanting ?This is awesome!? During last Friday night's Toronto Blue Jays baseball game on Rogers Sportsnet, the announcers were plugging an ad for WWE's "Night of Champions", which was on Rogers pay-per-view, and mentioned Seth Rollins vs. Sting. Buck Martinez, an announcer for the Blue Jays listening to that, said "I'm assuming that's not the same Sting that used to be in the Police. No, I think he'd be a little old for that sort of thing."

Sting reportedly suffered a legitimate injury in the main event of WWE's "Night of Champions" against WWE World Champion Seth Rollins on Sunday. As seen during the match, a trainer had to check on Sting after taking a buckle bomb from Rollins. F4Wonline.com notes that details are sketchy so far but early reports indicate the injury was significant.

In regards to Sting suffering a reported neck injury in the main event of WWE's "Night of Champions" against WWE World Champion Seth Rollins on Sunday, PWInsider notes that talk going around WWE is that it was a neck or spinal injury but that has not been confirmed. There?s talk that Sting may have went for medical tests last night or this morning, so they could still be waiting on an official diagnosis. There were a lot of people within the company who felt bad about Sting getting hurt last night as he?s been considered great to work with. As noted, Sting is scheduled to be at tonight?s RAW from Laredo but it?s believed he won?t be booked in a physical role if he is used.

After Sting's injury at "Night of Champions", WWE posted ?Sting reportedly sustained an injury Sunday night during his WWE World Heavyweight Title Match against champion Seth Rollins. Check back with WWE.com for more details and updates on Sting?s condition following Night of Champions.?

As noted, Sting suffered what was believed to be a significant injury during the main event of Sunday's "Night of Champions" pay-per-view. Apparently the injury came when he took the buckle bomb from WWE World Champion Seth Rollins. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio provided an update and speculated that the neck injury could be a career injury. It was noted that Sting hurt his neck and that it?s a pretty significant injury. Meltzer said, ?It was serious and to his neck.?

In another update on Sting, TMZ Sports reports that he is now resting at home after suffering a serious neck injury at WWE's "Night of Champions" on Sunday night. TMZ notes that the injury is so serious that doctors are not able to give a long-term prognosis just yet. Sting was injured a few times during the match but the most serious damage was caused by the buckle bomb, which caused the neck injury. Sting?s manager, Steve Martinez, posted the following on his Facebook page today ?As many of you may already know, Sting is undergoing treatment for the injuries he sustained in last night?s match with Seth Rollins. Doctors will continue to evaluate his condition, but he is a man of remarkable health and resiliency, especially at his age and with all he?s endured throughout his stellar career. Therefore, we are optimistic he will have a speedy recovery and return to full health soon. Sting has kept his body in excellent shape, due largely to the guidance he?s received from his personal trainer Jeff Cavaliere (ATHLEAN-X), and we trust this will prove beneficial to the recovery process. As a side note, we later learned the greatest damage to his body took place before the match was over, but being the true professional he is and among the hardest workers to ever step foot in the ring, he insisted to see the match through to the end.?

On Monday, TNA's Eric Young posted on Twitter "@Sting proud of ya man. Couldn't be more proud to have shared a ring with you and call you a friend! #legend #pro".

John Fennigan, who keeps tabs of wrestler's TV and PPV matches since November 2006, said that since that period, the Jack Swagger match with Bo Dallas on "WWE Superstars" last week was his 300th match. The only wrestlers over the same period with more TV matches are Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus.

Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon and Dana Warrior have signed a copy of the new Ultimate Warrior book that comes with ring worn tassels. Bidding is now open at the link below and the auction benefits Connor?s Cure.

Bob Backlund's book was officially released last Tuesday in both physical and digital formats. WWE's next home video release is "SummerSlam 2015", which comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray today. WWE's next archival release is "Sting: Into The Light" on DVD and Blu-Ray in three weeks.

It is being reported by PWInsider.com that Jeff Jarrett no longer owns a minority stake in TNA Wrestling and his return to the company and the exposure that Global Force Wrestling is getting on TNA television came at a price, his stake in TNA. Despite leaving TNA a couple of years ago, Jarrett still held a minority ownership in the company that he and his father founded back in 2002. Now Panda Energy, the mother company of TNA Wrestling controlled by Dixie Carter's family, is the 100% owner of TNA. He left TNA at the end of 2013 to work on GFW, a promotion that has been using past TNA wrestlers and other independent talent as part of its roster. Jarrett made a surprise return to TNA in June 2014 and the GFW invasion storyline will culminated during last week's "Impact Wrestling" show on Destination America when TNA defeated GFW in a Lethal Lockdown and won full control of TNA.

The third match on the card for TNA's "Bound For Glory" pay-per- view was announced on the ImpactWrestling.com website. The match is for the TNA Knockouts Title and features champion Gail Kim taking on Awesome Kong. The other two matches announced so far are EC3 vs. Drew Galloway for the TNA World Title with Jeff Hardy as the special guest referee and Bobby Roode vs. Lashley for the TNA King of the Mountain Title. "Bound For Glory" takes place on October 4th from the Cabarrus Arena in Concord, North Carolina.

The New Jersey based Independent Wrestling Federation announced Bushwhacker Luke and The Honky Tonk Man return to IWF at their "Shake, Rattle & Rumble" event on Saturday, October 10th. There will also a Meet & Greet with both Luke and HTM. Go to CampIWF.com/Legends.html for more info.

Jake ?The Snake? Roberts returned to the ring on Saturday night for Maryland Championship Wrestling. He teamed with G-Fed and The Bruiser to defeat The Dixon Line in six-man action. Jake ended up hitting a DDT to get his team the win.

NWAClassics.com this week posted a match of Greg Valentine vs. Tiger Conway Jr., plus early David Von Erich footage.

The preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday in Allentown, PA for Jimmy Snuka?s murder case has been postponed as the Lehigh County District Attorney?s office has filed a motion asking the court to approve the filing of a ?Bill of Information? without a preliminary hearing. The bill of information is a written statement that accuses Snuka of the crime and the request to go straight to a trial. Snuka?s attorney, William E. Moore, removed himself from the case when the Hall of Famer was charged due to a prior commitment and it?s not known if he has a new attorney yet. ?Superfly? Jimmy Snuka was arrested in the beginning of September for the 1983 murder of his mistress Nancy Argentino. He surrendered himself at the Lehigh County Courthouse in a wheelchair and hooked up to a feeding tube.

The new issue of The National Enquirer has a story on Jimmy Snuka.
