NEWS
WWE will reportedly be using Hall of Famer Ric Flair more on TV in the next few weeks. Flair should be back on RAW before September is over.

Country Music singer Darius Rucker, a big Ric Flair fan, and formerly part of Hootie & The Blowfish, was on NBC's "Today" show last Friday morning talking about his new album and started doing a Dusty Rhodes imitation. When host Willie Giest brought up WCW, Rucker said, "No, Georgia Championship Wrestling."

WWE's "Night of Champions" main event was announced last week after RAW went off the air and continued on the WWE Network. Triple H said that if Sting wants Seth Rollins, he will get Seth Rollins at "Night of Champions" for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. This is Sting?s first, and probably last, title shot in WWE. Sting has not appeared on television since WrestleMania 31 and did a Network-exclusive interview after the post-WrestleMania RAW went off the air saying he does not know what the future holds for him. All titles are expected to be defended at "Night of Champions" so Seth Rollins might be pulling double duty unless the U.S. Title is retired by the time the event comes around.

The idea of doing Sting vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at "Night of Champions" reportedly came up about a week ago and was decided on just a few days before "SummerSlam" pay-per-view. Regarding Sting?s appearance on RAW last week in the segment with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Rollins, PWInsider notes that the covered platform in the ring started out backstage and Sting was in there the whole time. Crew members brought the box out on a forklift, raised some of the lighting boards at ringside to make way, and put the box into the ring with Sting inside.

Sting talks about his upcoming Q&A shows in the United Kingdom in a video you can see by clicking here.

Some new names for the "WWE 2K 16" video game was released last week. The names announced included The Undertaker, The Vaudevillains (Aiden English & Simon Gotch), Ryback, Andre the Giant, Batista, Chris Jericho, Curtis Axel, Dean Ambrose, Edge, Erick Rowan, Fandango, John Bradshaw Layfield, Luke Harper, Randy Savage, Natalya, Rick Rude, R-Truth, Santino Marella, Sgt. Slaughter, Stephanie McMahon, and The Rock.

Dean Ambrose recently sat down with ?The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling? podcast to discuss the current state of WWE, NXT, as well as memories he has of the late ?Rowdy? Roddy Piper. Ambrose said about Piper ?Everybody loves Roddy Piper. There?s so many of these shocking out of nowhere passings and it?s so weird because these are the guys that my generation grew up watching, it sucks. Everybody loves The Hot Rod and my favorite Roddy Piper memory is a very specific one because I recently not too long ago watched it. Starrcade 96 when he fought Hogan for the Championship when he came back to WCW, it was a terrible, sloppy match with two old guys but awesome and was such a spectacle. The cool part of it was his entrance. One of the best entrances you will ever see if you really watch it and you are into the story and you really watch what he is doing, it?s like this death march to the ring. You have this on-going decade long blood-feud with Hogan and he knows that he is going to get beat up by the nWo and ganged up on 20-1 and it?s a one man war against the nWo and he?s just coming down the aisle as simple as can be, no flashy entrance or pyrotechnics. In WWE everyone has the special entrance. In NXT they have a dance move that they do and they get in the ring the same way every time and its like their schtick. It was so refreshing to go back and watch that because he comes out and just stares at the ring and burns a hole with his eyes and walks down the aisle as simple as humanly possible. His eyes are just cold and it just tells so much, you know he is willing to go in there in the middle of that ring. He is going to fight to the end. If he walks away with the championship, cool but he?s prepared for this to be the end. It?s very intense and most people who watch it wouldn?t put that much thought into it but get on WWE Network, watch Starrcade 96 and just watch Piper?s entrance it?s such a cool thing.? You can listen to the entire podcast by clicking here.

Taz announced on Twitter that Jim Ross will have a weekly segment on his new CBS Radio show. He tweeted "Proud to announce HOF'er @JRsBBQ will have a weekly segment w/me on my The Taz Show #TTShow coming Sept 14th! LIVE M-F on @playit".
