NEWS
In his latest podcast, Ric Flair answered a question from a fan on who would he pick for a 2015 version of the legendary Four Horsemen group. While admitting that Triple H and Randy Orton would be his top two picks, he said Triple H isn?t wrestling full time anymore and Orton is more popular as a singles guy so after some debating he named Dolph Ziggler, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and The Miz as his picks for the stable. Flair?s world title record is in jeopardy next week at "SummerSlam" as with a Cena win, he will tie Flair?s 16-time reign as world champion. Flair said that he would be ?thrilled? if Cena goes on to surpass it as he?s very proud of Cena for being the top guy in the company for such a long time.

There will be a fundraising dinner honoring the great Canadian legend Angelo ?King Kong? Mosca, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer?s Disease earlier this year. The ?Still Mosca? show will take place on August 26th at Carmen?s in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Special guests in attendance include Canadian Football League legend Pinball Clemens, boxing great George Chuvalo, and WWE Hall of Famer ?Nature Boy? Ric Flair. There is a scheduled wrestling match too. For details and tickets (including a combo ticket for the dinner and the next day?s Hamilton Tigercats game), click here.

Michael Hayes was backstage for last Thursday's WWE NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL and posted on Twitter "Alrighty, headed down to Orlando for NXT!! Always makes my day to go work with those kids. They R the future, but, can't forget the past!!"

It was previously reported that Sting was told by WWE officials to get ready for this month?s "SummerSlam" pay-per-view and that he reportedly got himself into ?ridiculously good shape? for his age. He was then informed he wouldn?t be used and there hasn't been much heard past that. It is likely that WWE decided not to use Sting at "SummerSlam" because he wasn?t needed due to the show already being loaded with stars like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, actor Stephen Amell, and others. With that said, it?s also possible that WWE uses Sting in September as a hook to sell the WWE Network for that month and "Night of Champions", which takes place in Texas, where Sting lives now. Or they could put his return off until the October or November events. If they do use Sting in September, they may be able to do the six-man match with The Wyatt Family vs. Sting, Roman Reigns, & Dean Ambrose that was rumored if Erick Rowan is back from injury to team with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. However, there was some talk that Rowan may not be back until around November but that hasn?t been confirmed.

A private funeral for WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper was held in Portland, OR on August 11th, attended by family and friends. Ric Flair was among those that spoke. Notable names who attended were Triple H, Chyna, Michael Hayes, Brian Knobbs, Bret Hart, and MMA star Chael Sonnen. Vince McMahon was not there. Triple H and Chyna were reportedly in the same room for about an hour but never spoke.

Roddy Piper?s family was in attendance for last Tuesday?s "WWE SmackDown!" tapings in Portland, OR where the family lived for several years and Piper was a familiar face. The family was sitting at ringside as Eden opened the SmackDown! tapings with a tribute and video package to Piper.

In a recent video, The Honky Tonk Man talks about the recent passing of Roddy Piper. There was some Twitter beef between the two earlier this year after Piper appeared on "The Adam Carolla Show" and called Honky Tonk an ?asshole,? adding that he can?t sing or play the guitar. Piper also called HTM jealous. Honky said as far as he knew, he and Piper were on good terms when he passed and he was looking to appear on Piper?s podcast. Honky also said they were supposed to meet at a convention in California just a few days after Piper?s death to ?bury the hatchet.? He said ?We were going to kind of bury the hatchet, so to speak, and find out really what our problem had been, that I wasn?t aware we had one. But I was looking forward to seeing him and talking about it.? To see the video, click here.

Roddy Piper is featured in a new graphic novel entitled Roddy Piper: Monster Killer that was done before his death by Grindhouse Comics. The comic is now available on Amazon. The description reads ?Rowdy Roddy Piper is a man of many talents ? wrestler, storyteller, monster killer. Get the real scoop about Rod?s life, his mission, and the way he?s been secretly saving humanity for the past 30 years. Wrestling gave him the cover, but Rod?s real job isn?t something he chose ? it was handed down to him by his ancestors, and now it?s time for Rod to pass it along to his son, Colt, who thinks Rod abandoned him, and who wants nothing to do with him. With a cover by renowned artist Joe Jusko, incredible interior art and a story you can?t put down, this graphic novel is sure to be a collector?s item for generations.?

Jeff Jarrett will be having a tryout camp on Thursday, August 20th at 7pm in Las Vegas, NV at the Future Stars of Wrestling Facility. As of the latest report, there are ten spots left. Two of the people at the tryout will work Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling TV tapings on Friday in Las Vegas. Jarrett will be doing the evaluations. A seminar will be at 5pm before the tryouts and included in the $200 cost. For more info you can contact Joe DeFalco at lvfuturestars@yahoo.com.

Recently added to NWAClassics.com are King Parsons vs. Jack Victory and Chavo Guerrero, Sr. & Hector Guerrero vs. The Fabulous Ones (Stan Lane & Steve Keirn) in a Cage Match from the Paul Boesch Houston tape collection.

Mick Foley revealed on Twitter that his August 21st one-man show in Bohemia, New York will be taped for a major cable network. He tweeted "My 8/21 guest set in #BOHEMIA NY will be recorded by a MAJOR cable network! Use code MEETMICK for $10 tix!"

A graphic novel on Andre the Giant that?s been worked on for a long time will finally be released on December 10th. The promotional blurb from Amazon for the ?Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven? paperback book reads ?A surprisingly touching narrative that reveals a new side to Andre ?The Giant? Roussimoff. . . . With a voice and tone perfectly matched to Andre?s demeanor, Easton?s writing brings Andre back to life.? ? Brutal Gamer. Lion Forge Comics is proud to present this amazing story of a man who turned a curse into a blessing. Written by 2014 Eisner Award-nominee Brandon M. Easton with gorgeous artwork by Denis Medri, this unprecedented biography of Andre the Giant charts his earliest days on his family?s farm, to his enormously successful runs in Japan, to his heated feuds with the biggest wrestling stars of all time, to his memorable turns in Hollywood TV and cinema and to his darkest moments caused by excessive substance abuse. Based on testimony from Andre?s friends and colleagues ? including his daughter Robin ? this is the story you?ve never been told about Andre ?the Giant? Roussimoff.

Variety reports that ?The Resurrection of Jake Roberts? documentary will be released in theaters by Slamdance Presents, which is the distribution wing of the Slamdance Film Festival. The documentary, done with the help of Diamond Dallas Page, premiered at the festival earlier this year. The theatrical run will also include post-screening Q&As with Roberts, Page, and Director Steve Yu. The first one takes place on September 2nd in Portland, OR at the Portland Film Festival. Other screenings will take place in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Nashville, Tampa and other cities.

1970's wrestler Tom Hankins is doing a Go Fund Me campaign to bring a live stage production on Dr. Jerry Graham. Kurt Brown will be featured as The Docs #1 authority. All of the details are on Chicago Mad Dog & The Bad Dogs Facebook page. The goal is $3,500 to cover production costs. The whole show is based on the upcoming book by Hankins, from Scott Teal's Crowbar Press, "The Mat, The Mob & The Music". Teal is editing it right now. It's Hankins biography in wrestling, music and working for the mob. There are tons of Jerry Graham stories included, many which have never been heard previously. There will also be a few songs to go with the stories. There are stories of Mil Mascaras, Bruiser Brody, Lars Anderson, King Curtis, Jack Brisco, Jim Morrison, Phil Spector, Frank Zappa and more
