In a press release issued by WWE announcing the return of the Steve Austin podcast on the WWE Network, it was revealed that this will be a monthly program airing immediately after "Monday Night Raw". WWE confirmed that Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and Sting will be future guests and Austin will also sit down to talk to other celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment. So far there has been two Austin podcasts which featured Vince McMahon and Triple H and two from Chris Jericho with John Cena and Stephanie McMahon.

WWE may be hiring fourth generation talent Cedric Rougeau, son of former WWE star Jacques Rougeau Jr. The 6-foot-7 and nearly 300 pound wrestler and his father talked with WWE officials for about 20 minutes before the May 4th RAW in Montreal. They both left before RAW started. The feeling is that Cedric has good size and speaks English & French fluently. Because of the influence of Pat Patterson, WWE officials do like the idea of a Montreal-based superstar, even though they have that covered with Sami Zayn.

After he defeated Rhyno at the Thursday night's NXT event in Philadelphia, Baron Corbin challenged any ECW Original for the second live event. Joey Styles accepted the challenge on behalf of whoever will be and ?shopped? around on Twitter looking for volunteers. He said he will officially be a manager for the first time ever in his wrestling career as he will accompany his ECW Original to take on Corbin. Styles joked that he asked Taz but he?s retired and he could not afford him anyway and when a fan asked him about Cactus Jack, Styles said Foley is retired as well and needs someone who still wrestles. Bully Ray, who appeared at the "Royal Rumble" in Philadelphia in January, replied to Styles? tweet saying ?Is that so?? Ray dropped a hint a few days ago saying it?s not about who?s next, but it?s where?s NXT. This tweet was sent after he appeared on TNA's "Impact Wrestling" as the guest referee. In a separate tweet to Corbin, Ray told him to ?be careful what you wish for.?

Former WWE creative writer Joe Franciosi passed away from a heart attack on Friday. Joe worked on the WWE creative team in 2010 and once did a segment with Ted DiBiase where he took out his fake eye. He was responsible for pitching the William Shatner segment where Shatner performed his own version of WWE theme songs. He most recently did creative for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and started out with Rick Bassman?s Ultimate Pro Wrestling promotion in California.

As reported in last week's Scoop, the author working with Bob Backlund recently posted a note from Backlund, where the WWE Hall of Famer claims reports about him interrupting Greg Gagne?s eulogy for his father Verne Gagne are false. Former AWA announcer Mick Karch responded to claims that the original story was made up when he posted on Facebook "If you weren?t there, it is pretty absurd to say it didn?t go down as reported, even if you?re a fan of Backlund (and there is nothing wrong with that). I will say one more time, Greg Gagne was wrapping up his eulogy for Verne when Backlund stood up, made some shouting references to representing WWE, and then told Greg, 'Don?t talk back to me!' He smiled and sat back down. Greg?s response was, 'Who was that?' Someone said, 'Bob Backlund', and Greg responded, 'Who let him in here.' Backlund hadn?t just spoken the words, he was shouting as if he was cutting a promo from his Mr. Backlund days."

Global Force Wrestling relaunched their website last week and among those listed on the roster page are Jim Cornette, Jeff Jarrett, Lance Hoyt, The Hot Shots (Chase Stevens & Cassidy Riley), and Jim Duggan. Scott Hall was originally listed on the roster page but after he was reportedly escorted out of a wrestling event in Asbury Park, NJ due to being intoxicated, he has been removed.

Jim Cornette coming to Global Force Wrestling means he and The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson) can continue their verbal feud. The feud continued last week with The Bucks responding to this Twitter message posted by Cornette, "Too bad @MattJackson13 and @NickJacksonYB cancelled off the #AWF show last nite-looked forward to seeing them open the show! #JerkTheCurtain". The Bucks posted the response "Yeah, bummer we couldn't hear your, 'I'm just working kid, let's make some money together' speech."

The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame has its induction ceremony in Amsterdam, NY. The inductees are Joe Malciewicz, The Great Gama; Pedro Morales, Whipper Billy Watson, Curt Hennig, Rick Martel, Vivian Vachon, The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts), Jim Crockett, Sr. and Jumbo Tsuruta. The Harley Race Wrestling Camp announced last week that Dr. Tom Prichard has been added as a special guest. It was announced previously that Ric Flair would also be at the camp. A mockumentary movie is being made featuring stars from "The Toxic Avenger". It follows it's star, who's been in seclusion for 30 years and is now hitting the convention circuit, until his travels bring up many questions and even stranger truths, that seem to cause mass greed. The movie stars Mark Torgl (Melvin the Mop Boy from "Toxic Avenger"), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Founder), Jonny Fairplay, "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant, and Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Steven Borden, Jr., the son of Sting, had a tryout with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. The 6-foot-3, 246-pound Borden, Jr. started his college career at Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, TX before playing two seasons at the University of Kentucky. During his time with the Wildcats, Borden caught seven passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. He went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft but is still currently at the Chiefs minicamp.
