R. Bruce Tharpe, president of the National Wrestling Alliance, posted on Facebook "The National Wrestling Alliance is pleased to announce its newest licensed promotion / NWA Pandemonium out of Oklahoma City. Welcome to the family!" After some researching and assistance from sources, Oklafan confirmed that Carmine DeSpirito will be running NWA Pandemonium and will have the NWA rights for the Oklahoma City area. He promoted Mid American Wrestling in Milwaukee, WI for 14 years. According to their Facebook site, NWA Pandemonium live events are set to debut in Fall 2015. Allied Independent Wrestling Federation announced yesterday that MSWA is now their Oklahoma affiliate. On Facebook AIWF posted "Please Welcome Aboard the Mid-South Wrestling Alliance of Oklahoma City aboard the AIWF Team, They have ran professional wrestling in Oklahoma For 15 plus years and will promote ours and there banner across the state of Oklahoma."

Many wrestling stars attended the funeral for WWE Hall of Famer Verne Gagne on May 5th in Eden Prairie, MN. Names that attended either the visitation or the funeral were Larry Hennig, Wayne Bloom, Brad Rheingans, Mick Karch, Derrick Dukes, Frankie DeFalco, Jake Milliman, Jim Brunzell, John Nord, Kenny Jay, Gene Okerlund, Dan Jesser, Doug Fisher, Paul Ellering, Steve Olsonoski, Baron Von Raschke, Eddie Sharkey and Bob Backlund. Okerlund and Greg Gagne delivered eulogies for Verne. Okerlund finished his by doing an introduction for ?the heavyweight champion of the world, Verne Gagne? and it received a standing ovation.

ESPN covered the death of Verne Gagne over the past weekend.

May 9th was officially ?Jerry Lawler Day? in his hometown of Memphis, TN. May 9th, 1988 was the day Lawler won the AWA World Heavyweight Title from Curt Hennig. Lawler was at the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors NBA playoff game Sunday night being honored.

Like they did with the Tyler Breeze video in advance of the WWE E:60 documentary airing, ESPN released a Colin Cassady video last night when the documentary went off the air. Not as long, detailed, or intriguing as the Breeze short, but worth watching if just for the clip of a production meeting where Jim Ross sticks up for Cassady. You can see the clip by clicking here.

Jim Ross' show on Saturday night in Baltimore at Rams Head Live will be at 8pm. They originally sold out of VIP meet and greet tickets but have added somewhere around 20 to 40 more. There are also General Admission tickets and there will be tickets available at the door. Ross show will talk about his background, do the Q&A portion that he always does, plus give an informal history of the modern history of pro wrestling in Baltimore.

The Bruiser Brody Memorial show and Wrestling at the Chase Reunion Show takes place this Saturday night in East Carondelet, IL. There will be a Q&A prior to the show with Barbara Goodish (wife of Brody), Stan Hansen, Mike McGuirk, and Mick Karch.

WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk, Jr., age 74, will be returning to the ring on May 31st in Osaka, Japan to team with protege Osama Nishimura against Masa Fuchi and Yoshiaki Fujiwara, who is 65 years old. It appears Funk and Fujiwara have never wrestled each other even though they have been stars in Japan for many years.

Jeff Jarrett threw out the first pitch at a recent Mississippi Braves minor league baseball game to promote a June 20th Global Force Wrestling show at the Braves home stadium, Trustmark Stadium in Pearl, MS.

Global Force Wrestling named a number of stars that will form its roster at a press conference at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV last week. Included are Bullet Club members Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, The Killer Elite Squad (Lance Hoyt & Davey Boy Smith, Jr.), Chris Mordetsky (formerly Chris Masters), P. J. Black (formerly Justin Gabriel), former NFL player Quinn ?Moose? Ojinnaka, and former TNA Knockouts Lei?D Tapa and Thea Trinidad (formerly Rosita). In addition, MMA star Chael Sonnen has been named as a commentator / analyst for the company. Others announced for GFW in a video released over the weekend include The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson), The New Heavenly Bodies (Desirable Dustin & Gigolo Justin), Sonjay Dutt, Tyrus (the former Brodus Clay, who will go as George Murdoch), The Hotshots (Chase Stevens & Cassidy Riley), Cliff Compton, Luke Hawx, and Jigsaw among others. Dutt is also working in an office capacity with the group. Some of the names are only in for a few dates and many names mentioned are not scheduled for television.

TMZ ran a piece about Scotty 2 Hotty passing his real estate exam and moving to a new career and is looking for a new house for Mick Foley. He said he likes his new career better than his last one as a firefighter.

Deadspin is pushing the story that the last straw in ESPN deciding not to renew Bill Simmons' contract was Simmons using Mick Foley's "testicular fortitude" phrase to refer to Roger Goodell not having the courage to make a decision on "Deflategate" until the public had reacted to the NFL's official report. Simmons was previously suspended for a podcast rant where he called Goodell a liar.

Mick Foley had #WomensWrestling trending worldwide on Twitter last night during RAW. Foley posted on Twitter "@WWENXT fans know that with @SashaBanksWWE @BeckyLynchWWE @MsCharlotteWWE @itsBayleyWWE the future of #WomensWrestling is strong! #RAW"
